GORGEOUS RANCH HOUSE WITH PANORAMIC VIEWS

Absolutely spectacular ranch-style house in the Hollywood Hills boasting panoramic views of the San Fernando valley. This is true Hollywood living! A private haven on top of a knoll, close to Fryman Canyon hiking trail and just minutes from great restaurants and shops in trendy Studio City. Universal Studios and City Walk is just 10 minutes away. Six Flags Magic Mountain, Disney Land and Malibu are only a 40 minute drive with the beautiful Santa Monica beaches and famous pier 25 minutes away. Burbank Airport is 20 mins away and Los Angeles International Airport is a 45 minutes drive.

In its private gated grounds , complete with intercom and security cameras at the street, the house is bright and light with a fully equipped professional kitchen, and a spacious living/dining room with light hardwood floors and pitched high ceilings.

At the front of the house, French doors lead out to a deck overlooking a breath taking view of the valley. Another set of doors, off the living room, lead out to the completely private swimming pool and outside eating area, featuring a barbeque and huge wooden dining table under a Mediterranean bamboo awning, with flowing Moroccan style white curtains. The garden is bursting with plants, featuring palm, lemon and olive trees, trumpet vines, roses and bougainvilla. Around the pool, teak sun beds, numerous umbrellas, Balinese coffee table and benches, create a relaxing oasis ideal for entertaining. (A Security Pool Fence can be erected in advance of your stay)

The tranquil master bedroom features a king bed, with bathroom en suite. The two other colorful and tastefully furnished bedrooms have double beds and share a second bathroom. The rollaway single bed can be placed in the 3rd bedroom upon request. There is also a guest bathroom in the corridor.

AMENITIES

48” flat screen TV and DVD player in living room and a 42” flat screen with DVD player in Master bedroom. 32” flat screen in the 3rd bedroom. 19” TV and DVD player in second bedroom. Cable TV channels with HBO and Showtime. Extensive DVD and Video library, stereo system with CD player and interior and exterior speakers. Comprehensive CD library. Wireless internet and the phone for local calls. All linens, bath, and pool towels are supplied. Stackable washer and dryer in laundry area. A/C and heating.

The house is available for weekly or monthly rentals (4 night min stay). Ideal for family and industry professionals. A security deposit and cleaning fees are required. Pets are considered. Pool heating is not included in the rental price and varies according to season. Departure cleaning fee is $250.00 .

Parking is on the street and generally the spot in front of the house is available. There is plenty of public parking.

Owners stay in the completely independent guesthouse above the garage, which shares only 10 steps with main house from the security gate. Working in the film location business, they leave house at crack of dawn and return late at night. Complete privacy is guaranteed for guests. About Camilla More

I have owned this house for 24 years and absolutely love it! It has charm and is light and bright and happy. I love to entertain and so the house has a free flow to it where the inside and outside become one. We travel alot now and our children are now grown so we decided to offer it to others to stay in. I love to design and believe that the charm of this house is the simplicity , the bright colors throughout and the gorgeous pool and gardens with barbeque and lots of entertainment areas, offer guests the perfect retreat, just minutes from the exciting hustle and bustle of the restaurants on Ventura Boulevard. I am born in London but moved to LA in my twenties, and have never tired of the blue skies, bright sun, palm trees, and the beaches!

Studio City has become the 'Beverly Hills' of the valley! The shopping on Ventura Boulevard is outstanding - and there is a wonderful Farmers Market every Sunday where there are pony rides and a petting zoo for children. Studio City is conveniently close to the major Studios - Universal, Warner Brothers, CBS - and also an easy drive to the beaches, Six Flags magic Mountain and Disneyland. Hollywood , the Griffith Park Observatory, LACMA etcetc are 20 mins drive. In Studio City you are in a peaceful family community that is buzzing but not frenetic!

Once you have arrived at this house you will not feel like leaving! The view over the valley and surrounding mountains from the front deck is awe- inspiring. The feeling of tranquility and relaxation will overcome you as you lie by the pool or dine al fresco at night under the bamboo awning. You are on top of a knoll so there is no one looking in on you. Breathtaking Views, Beautiful Home, Quintessential California Experience!

Our family of five (2 adults, 3 kids aged 12.5, 7 and 3.5 years) thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in this lovely HOME. It is just that - a real home that is gorgeous in its location, cozy feel, landscaping and decor.

Camilla was a pleasure to deal with from the start of the rental process six months prior to our stay. Her home is perfectly appointed with absolutely everything we needed to enjoy our stay, including a very helpful collection of area attraction listings.

The View: You know when you climb the 30+ steps to the house, that there is something magical waiting at the top. We literally pinched ourselves every time we looked out each of the many windows - all of LA seems to be sprawled out in the view!

The drive up the the streets off Ventura Blvd. is so cool - we lived like locals while we were there. We were guaranteed a parking spot right in front of the house which was so convenient, and we always felt secure with the gated entry.

Kitchen, all three bedrooms and three bathrooms had everything we needed and more. The pool: gorgeous and the sun shone on it from 7am to well past 6pm! The outdoor area was cozy and perfect to lounge around the pool. Nights on the front porch watching the twinkling city lights were right out of a movie.

The area: Studio City - so much beauty to take in everywhere! It feels like a sweet town but is so close to surrounding hot spots too. Great shopping on Ventura Blvd, and an amazing Sunday Farmers' Market minutes away!

Such a fantastic week - we are counting the days til we can return. Thank you Camilla for your help and hospitality!

I'm almost afraid to tell you how much I love this house

Because really...it's fantastic. Beautifully outfitted with all the supplies you need—from towels and linens, to the kitchen—this home is a charming 1950s cottage nestled in the Studio City hills. With absolutely stellar views of downtown LA, the house is airy, bright and was the perfect size for our party of 3. As a weary Midwesterner...this house will haunt my dreams come January.

super-comfy vacation pad

Our family of four really enjoyed our stay at this property in April 2018. Like all HomeAway properties we've used, this one was exceedingly comfortable, well-equipped with everything we could have wanted and more, and as-advertised (photos and reviews were accurate). Parking was occasionally a minor challenge, but eminently manageable. Be aware that there are lots of steps to the house! But once there you will be rewarded with great views, excellent beds, quiet and privacy, and a charming pool surrounded by greenery and plants. We wish it had been a touch warmer weather-wise so we could have enjoyed breakfast outside, but there's no controlling the weather. Hosts were available as needed, and helpful but otherwise non-intrusive. We highly recommend this house for your vacation base!

Great place and location

Right in the middle of everything and the property was perfect for our family of 4 ( 2 teenage kids). Pool was used extensively by our kids, and the property was set up nicely for everyone to have their own space. Location was great, just be careful of navigating the streets as its a bit tight!

Just an FYI- the owners do stay on property in the smaller guest home. It wasn't an issue for us but we must have missed that in the contract. That being said, it was still a very private vacation and only was in contact, via email/phone, with the owners when I requested info on activities in the area.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed our local Weddington Golf & Tennis Centre, 10 minutes away, and the varied excellent restaurants on Ventura Boulevard! The pool is always very popular with our guests as it is entirely private and the back yard is sunny all day long! The guesthouse is over the garage at the very front of the property and about twenty feet below the main house, so we only share 10 steps from the security gate. As the guesthouse is totally independent and at a different elevation, we ensure our guests enjoy full privacy, and we are only in contact when our input is requested. I have added a description of the location to the guesthouse, so other guests are reassured of their privacy. Thank you for suggesting this…. So happy you all had a wonderful stay, and we look forward to your return!
