This 1,000 sq ft condo is a 5 Star property at the Dana Point Headlands with PATIO AND LIVING ROOM FACING THE OCEAN with fabulous coastal views. This is the best that it gets! The Building was TOTALLY RENOVATED recently. You can relax on the patio with a drink and WATCH THE WAVES and if you are lucky, you can see the DOLPHINS playing in the surf. In the evening, you can watch the SUNSET over the ocean.

The building is owned by our family and we now have all four units on short term rental. Please contact us for more information on the other units which are not reflected on this site. The pictures here represent unit #2 or 'The Travertine' which was Recently renovated and has 2 bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the second with a queen bed.

There is a large PATIO with a magnificient ocean view which leads into the great room with an open kitchen and dining room. The condo had two full baths and a washer and dryer INSIDE the unit. It is located on the GROUND FLOOR and is also accessible from the garage. This makes it especially easy to come into the unit if you are carrying suitcases or shopping bags. There are NO STAIRS. The unit is handicap accessible and is completely furnished with everything you need.

There is a table and 6 chairs on the large patio overlooking the ocean which is a great place to barbecue and have dinner on a summer night. and If you are lucky, you may see the dolphins!

The unit overlooks Strands Beach - just 1/4 mile south of the famed Ritz Carlton Hotel and Salt Creek Beach Park, and is located adjacent to the path to the beach on top of the bluff. It is very quiet, peaceful and safe. It is truly one of the most unforgetable spots you will ever find. The condo is furnished impeccably and has everything you could need for a vacation...You may think you are in the Ritz Carlton. ...just bring your toothbrush!

About Jill Fabricant

My brother and I purchased this property in 1990. Bob was out running and found it and fell in love with the location. He told me about it and I also fell in love with the VIEW. Since then, we renovated the units, stay there occasionally and also rent them out for part of the year. Both Bob and I are in the medical profession. We love the tranquility and beauty surrounding our Dana Strands home. They are only a five minute walk to Starbucks, restaurants and cafes. They are furnished lovingly and contain original artwork. They are truly a jewel.

Why Jill Fabricant chose Monarch Beach

My brother and I were mesmerized with the VIEW from the property as it is simply SPECTACULAR. It is undoubtably one of the most striking views you will ever see - and that includes many from around the world. The entire property was completely renovated when we decided to make it a place where we could both go for long weekends or for a week with our families and friends. The Strand has some of the most expensive beachfront properties in Orange county. Our property is located on the edge of the bluff in the Strand overlooking the ocean. It is the most ideal location as it is the signature property when you drive into the area. You will love it. There is also a funicular that goes down to the beach which is only a couple of minutes walk from the property.

What makes this condo unique

This condo has a VIEW TO DIE FOR. You can watch dolphins play in the surf or watch SUNSETS from the patio. The path to the beach is adjacent to the property. Outside the door there are about 2 miles of ocean view paths in the nearby reserve where you can hike. The property is a 10 minute walk to the Ritz Carlton and St Regis Hotels. The Ritz Carlton has the same view as ours and the St. Regis is located about one half mile from the ocean and does not compare. The condo is a FIVE STAR lodging and has everything you need to make your visit truly remarkable.

Great location...million $$ views for sure!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Jill was very responsive to make sure we had everything we needed. It was just big enough for 2 adults and one 7yr old. I didn't want ocean front but wanted to be close enough to see the beach and the waves. Every morning and evening we got to watch the surfers below. The walkway down to the beach is just steps away and only took a few minutes to get down to the beach. The beach is great (not crowded at all, nearby restrooms, etc). The homes you share this beach with easily run $20M+. Very easy to get to I-5. Grocery markets, restaurants, etc. are <5min drive.

I love that Jill provides wireless Internet and TV with plenty of channels. We're pretty demanding on the tech-side so this worked very well for us. The unit has plenty of utensils and various other necessities that we didn't feel like we had to go buy it. It can get a little stuffy if you leave during a hot day but after opening up the patio door, it only takes a few minutes to cool things off. Having a ceiling fan in the main bedroom was really great. I believe each unit has a BBQ available which was great to have even though we didn't use it.

I would definitely suggest this as a place to highly consider. You won't get these types of views and access to the beach like this anywhere else. It's very affordable considering hotel prices so we ultimately were very happy with our stay.

Amazing views

Had a wonderful stay. Unit was very clean and comfortable and the views were amazing. Only negative was that I was put in a unit different than the one that I reserved, which did not have the large ocean-facing patio shown in the picture. My stay was short and I was by myself, so it wasn't a big deal for me but it might be for others.

Great View and Location!

Throughly enjoyed our stay at Jill's ocean view condo. From the deck we could see beautiful water and beach views, and at night there was a city light view. The kitchen was great for cooking dinner, well stocked and great light. If you don't want to cook there are many good restaurants less than 5 minutes away.

We also enjoyed the walking paths practically right outside the door. The condo was clean with very comfortable beds (and I am picky.). The shower had good water pressure and bathrooms had plenty of towels,shampoo, etc . The decor was nice with great art work.

We can't wait for our next visit!

The view was amazing.

Too much furniture in the main room. The table and two chairs near the fire place and the air condition (which didn't work) should go. It didn't have the beach house feel. All though sleeping was quite. All the Oleanders was always bought into the house.

Owner's Response: We all have our own ideas of interior design. The "too much furniture" consists of two large comfortable chairs and a sofa as well as a small breakfast table and two chairs facing the ocean which most people use for coffee in the morning or as a desk. Of the 35 reviews this is a first. The air conditioning unit was just installed earlier this summer and works very well (probably didn't know how to turn it on). Probably it will only be used a couple of days a year as we really don't need one here as witnessed by this review. We've gone without it for almost a decade in this unit. The oleanders line the side of the house and when they bloom, once a year, they are beautiful. After blooming they do fall off onto the walkway. Most people have commented to me on how charming the walkway is with all of the flowers in the summer. I'm sorry that our visitors did not appreciate the large outside patio with the barbeque or all of the beautiful original art and time spent to equip the condo like a home and not a rental property. This is not a typical beach house as it is a home! Please see our other 35 (5-star) reviews .

Location, location, location!

The views from this property are exactly as the pictures show - fabulous! Although the bedrooms are in the back, because of the layout you can hear the waves crashing all night - nature's way of lulling us to sleep. Jill is on the property and she's great. The walk to the beach is a hike with steps and ramps, but we thought of it as our daily exercise after enjoying all the delicious restaurants that are minutes away by car. If you want wonderful ocean and beach views, comfortable accommodations (the master suite bed was so comfortable!), and great restaurants and things to see, then we recommend this condo.

The property was great and the amenities were perfect. And the Strand is one of the best beaches in So Cal! Jill was an excellent host, always very accomodating. We plan on coming back soon!

The property is adjacent to The Strand, the exclusive new resort community containing 10+ million dollar homes. There is a path to one of the best beaches (Strands Beach) in Southern California. There is a wildlife preserve with hiking trails less than 500 yards away. The property is located on the Headlands Bluff with a stunning VIEW of the coast looking toward Laguna Beach. It is the best located property in the Headlands. There is a (funicular) tram that goes to the beach nearby if you do not want to walk.

Dana Point is mid-way between Los Angeles and San Diego where you can go to the zoo, water parks, Disneyland, Safari Parks, Universal Studios and more. This is a great place to go for vacation.
