About the property

Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Laketown Beach Cottage is tucked in at the base of the protected dunes, as close as possible to Lake Michigan.

Unique, private area in natural wooded setting with access to Laketown Beach stairs and dunes. Though you cannot see the lake from the cottage, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the pristine natural lakeshore and white sand dunes within a 10-15 minute walk over the dune the cottage sits on.

Not necessarily for the faint of heart as the natural dunes are very steep- but well worth the effort!

Make your way down to the beach for sunbathing, swimming, picnics and miles of white sandy shoreline!

The cottage offers cozy, simplistic, unplugged ambiance with all the necessities;

Bedroom with bunk beds, private loft area with queen size bed and small sofa bed in the living area. The screened-in porch offers additional dining/living area and opens onto the wrap-around deck. Outdoor furniture, gas grill and a fire pit allows for added relaxation.

Recent upgrades include new flooring, totally new bathroom, TV/DVD Player, gas grill and NEW WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM.

Also included- linens, towels, kitchen cookware, dishes, small appliances, beach towels and chairs.

Why Kathy Bright chose Holland

Very quaint, private area built at the base of Lake Michigan dunes, an area which we have always treasured!

What makes this cottage unique

We enjoy the trails, wildlife and certainly one of the most beautiful beachs!

Guestbook comments from the manager

" We had the most amazing weekend+! Beautiful weather, lots of cooking out on the grill- Spent Friday evening on the beach all night, water was as smooth and calm as I've ever seen Lake Michigan. We had to cool off in the water from the hike up the dunes. Sunday we went to the highest point of the dune, well worth the journey to see an absolutely wonderful sunset and stunning views of the amazing coastline for miles & miles.

We were sad to have to leave but my WIFE and I got married that day~ Fantastic 5 days at the Laketown Cottage!! Thanks for everything,"

We loved our getaway to pure tranquility at Laketown Beach Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We appreciated the updates done to the cottage! The sleeping accommodations were perfect for our family with little ones! It is secluded and tranquil, with the public beach just a walk away. We loved being in the beautiful forest! We hope to return!

The place is very cozy and secluded . There was a bunch of wood already ready go for a nice bond fire. The shower and sinks had great water presssure. I was surprised to have WiFi on my phone(Verizon).Kathy was very responsive when asking questions. Loved it and would go back for sure.

There were THOUSANDS of people at the Tulip Festival on our first day. We came home from that experience and sat on the screened in porch and listened to the absolute quiet. We sipped our tea and read our books and just unwound.

You can climb a million steps to the beach or you can climb just a bunch of steps to the top of the dune and see the most glorious sunsets imaginable.

The cottage had all it said it would have. Three days were the perfect amount to stay. The cottage was totally in the woods and there are critters in the woods and upstairs you could hear the critters and they sounded mighty close.

We had one issue with the cottage, I texted Kathy and it was fixed immediately.

I just cannot tell you how nice a step away from the craziness of the world was for us. We have trouble relaxing and it was the perfect place for us. Amazingly peaceful.

Comfortable and relaxing

  • 4 of 5

The property was exactly as advertised. Appliances and bath fixtures were modern and the place was very clean. The only negative was the iron well water. We washed a load of clothes and I had to discard 5 white shirts that were ruined by rusty water.

Owner's Response: We're so glad you enjoyed your stay~ overall! This is so unfortunate, if you had contacted us during your stay, the water issue would have been resolved immediately~ We found that the filter needed adjusting, therefore we also had some stains to remove in the brand new shower! Next time please be sure to contact us~ we're available 24/7. Thanks so much, Kathy

Peaceful and secluded cottage in wooded duneland

  • 4 of 5

Cozy rustic cottage tucked in secluded behind a dune.... Awesome location.... Very private... Yet you'll find a nearby hike up a dune to Laketown Beach for swimming and sunsets, a short drive to Saugatuck Dunes State Park for great hiking trails, and about ten minutes to Saugutuck/Douglas for shopping and dining.

We loved sitting on the screen porch sipping coffee and reading in the mornings and hanging out by the campfire in the evenings after hiking to the beach to view incredible sunsets!

Perfect location to unplug!
