About the property

Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Laketown Beach Cottage is tucked in at the base of the protected dunes, as close as possible to Lake Michigan.

Unique, private area in natural wooded setting with access to Laketown Beach stairs and dunes. Though you cannot see the lake from the cottage, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the pristine natural lakeshore and white sand dunes within a 10-15 minute walk over the dune the cottage sits on.

Not necessarily for the faint of heart as the natural dunes are very steep- but well worth the effort!

Make your way down to the beach for sunbathing, swimming, picnics and miles of white sandy shoreline!

The cottage offers cozy, simplistic, unplugged ambiance with all the necessities;

Bedroom with bunk beds, private loft area with queen size bed and small sofa bed in the living area. The screened-in porch offers additional dining/living area and opens onto the wrap-around deck. Outdoor furniture, gas grill and a fire pit allows for added relaxation.

Recent upgrades include new flooring, TV/DVD Player, gas grill and NEW WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM.

Also included- linens, towels, kitchen cookware, dishes, small appliances, beach towels and chairs.

Why Kathy Bright chose Holland

Very quaint, private area built at the base of Lake Michigan dunes, which we have always treasured!

What makes this cottage unique

We enjoy the trails, wildlife and the most beautiful beach!

Guestbook comments from the manager

" We had the most amazing weekend+! Beautiful weather, lots of cooking out on the grill- Spent Friday evening on the beach all night, water was as smooth and calm as I've ever seen Lake Michigan. We had to cool off in the water from the hike up the dunes. Sunday we went to the highest point of the dune, well worth the journey to see an absolutely wonderful sunset and stunning views of the amazing coastline for miles & miles.

We were sad to have to leave but my WIFE and I got married that day~ Fantastic 5 days at the Laketown Cottage!! Thanks for everything,"

Peaceful and secluded cottage in wooded duneland

  • 4 of 5

Cozy rustic cottage tucked in secluded behind a dune.... Awesome location.... Very private... Yet you'll find a nearby hike up a dune to Laketown Beach for swimming and sunsets, a short drive to Saugatuck Dunes State Park for great hiking trails, and about ten minutes to Saugutuck/Douglas for shopping and dining.

We loved sitting on the screen porch sipping coffee and reading in the mornings and hanging out by the campfire in the evenings after hiking to the beach to view incredible sunsets!

Perfect location to unplug!

Great Location in a Quiet Dune

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this quiet little cabin the dunes. It was the perfect location to the beach. We just walked down the driveway and up the million stairs to the beach. Even though the stairs were crazy the view was worth it and the beach was not that crowded. The cottage was cozy and had everything we needed.

The best part of our stay was watching the sunset at the top of the dunes and sitting around the campfire at night listening to the crickets.

Location was fantastic!

  • 4 of 5

We loved the secluded, quite location. Literally the cottage sits along a sand dune next to Lake Michigan. We were a short drive to Saugatuck and Holland. We were right in the middle of nature, then within minutes browsing through quaint little shops. We also really enjoyed riding our bikes on the many bike trails in the area.

My husband and I wanted to take a vacation away where we could relax and enjoy the outdoors. Mission accomplished!

Rustic charm near the lake

  • 4 of 5

The cottage had everything we needed-- little touches like snacks, bottled water, cleaning supplies that included all the necessities to enjoy the kitchen and the washer/dryer were much appreciated. The property manager and the owner were responsive to our questions and concerns and provided us all we needed. It's a place for people who would prefer to be unplugged from internet and cable. TV service is intermittent. Verizon cell phones worked for texting and internet. Coffee or breakfast on the deck, a walk over the dune to the beach to enjoy Lake Michigan or the sunset, and short trips to Saugatuck and Holland were highlights of our visit. The Saugatuck Chamber Music Festival, Felt Mansion, Douglas Beach Park, Palazzalo's Dairy Outlet, The Southerner, 205 Coffee Bar, and Lemonjello's Coffee are all less than 15 minutes away.

Amazing vacation rental!

  • 5 of 5

Wow!!! What an amazing place! Location was absolutely fabulous! Very clean, comfortable, and private. The beach is so close, and the sunset views are amazing. (like 5 min or less to walk) If you love the outdoors, and the woods, this is your spot. If you are a city slicker, its only a 10 min drive to two different towns. Internet junkies, this is not a spot for you. Cell phone and texting/internet very very very limited. GREAT getaway.
