There is also a sofa sleeper on main floor. Enjoy the amenities of a fully furnished kitchen with commercial stove, 2 ovens, great room with 2 story field stone fireplace & cathedral ceiling, dining room, mud room, grand piano & 3/4 season wrap porch. The lower level walks out to the waterfront & a fire pit. This area provides it's own full kitchen, bathroom with shower, pool table, 1 large bedroom (with 3 twin beds & 1 Queen Bed - all have newer mattresses). Pictures do not reveal the spacious, unique beauty of this home.

The Spirit River Flowage is rather quiet & non-commercial with abundant Forest Crop land. It is possible to boat, paddle, kayak, cross country ski, etc. 7+ miles up the river to the west & 1+ miles to the east! Plenty of wildlife viewing, bald eagles, deer & great fishing! Swimming is good on the property with a small sandy beach. The rest of the shoreline has a variety of grassy, tree lined & rocky terrain. With 600 ft of frontage the level shoreline is a combination of sand, soft ground, rocky or some weeds. Amazing ice fishing location. Bald eagles year round! Astounding view of stars! Snowmobile trails & X Country skiing out your door! Plenty of room to park trailers.

Excellent stay!

We loved everything about this place! The pictures and description are accurate and it is even better in person. It is perfect for a large group or with multiple family members. There is plenty of space to spread out, both in the house and out. It was great having 3 different places to eat meals inside. The house is fully stocked!! The beds were very comfortable and everyone slept great. Outside, the yard is perfect for games. The kids absolutely loved the large sand pile! It was nice having two different docks, one for the boat and the other for the kids to play by. The lake wasn't busy at all, so it was perfect for kayaking, canoeing, and tubing for the kids. We packed our stuff and took a quick ride over to Osprey Island which was amazing! Wonderful sandy beach and we swam and played for hours. Lastly, Ellen was fantastic! Ellen was very responsive and provided some trip ideas to our group. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful indoor and out

We had a great week staying at Ellen’s Rustic cabin. The 2 kitchens were a real plus for our multi-generational family. The upstairs kitchen/living area was great. We spent most of our time on the main floor all season room and outside. The flat yard and short walk to the water made the space very convenient. Our grand kids spent hours in the big pile of sand next to beach. We tied our boat to the dock and while the water was really low, we just had to push in and out without using the motor. The little bay made that easy with not much current or waves to contend with. We had a great time and hope to be back.

I grew up in Tomahawk, moved away, raised a family and returned to my home town. I inherited this home from my dad. This home was designed to host large gatherings of family & friends. Like my dad, I enjoy people and enjoy sharing my home with family & friends and welcoming new friends. I also have my own private apartment in this home. It does not interfere with your vacation space. When I am not working I enjoy music, fishing, boating, yard work, cross country skiing, hiking, and being outside. Most of all I love to spend time with family and enjoy travelling to see my kids and grandkids. Of course, they also enjoy coming to visit me, too. My home holds many wonderful memories for my family. The maintenance on this home is huge. When my son & his wife introduced me to VRBO it transformed my vision of this home from burden to blessing and from "for sale" to "for keeps." It's been exciting to upgrade this house and to make this a little piece of heaven on earth for all who gather here.

The land has been in the family since the 1960's. The home was built with hand cut logs from family property in 1980 by my dad. It is my desire to share this amazing place with others. If you desire to have a small retreat or craft event there are excellent catering options in the area!
As an artist it is an inspiring place to rejuvenate & be creative. I've had church retreats, quilting retreats, scrapbook retreats, family reunions, weddings & receptions, & much more here. Ample room for multiple families! Perfect for Thanksgiving, Christmas or other Holidays.
