About Alyce Etxebarria

As a native Nevadan I treasure my home and this beautiful area. It is so near all of the Reno activities that I love to participate in! I have lived in this home for 20 years, until a recent love interest has taken me to a new adventure. I have done all the 'remodel' work myself. My home is perfect and ready for guests to enjoy! I have really been lucky, with the best people, it has been a pleasure so far.

Alyce Etxebarria purchased this house in 1990

Why Alyce Etxebarria chose Reno

When I was a kid running around Reno, I remember saying that one day I would love to live in this neighborhood! This home is absolutely the perfect Reno location for work or play. The house is a short few blocks from downtown Reno. You could arrange a whole life within biking distance! Across the street from Renos oldest park, Idlewild Park and the Truckee River. Amazing thing is you can still go to one of the many little riverside beaches and be the only one there! Freeway I-80 westbound to Tahoe is minutes from the door. All this, and yet the house is in a very secluded old S.W. area of town. Traffic does not 'just wind up here'. You must wiggle your way in!! Excellent!!

What makes this house unique

The location is really unique. Reno's Downtown/Midtown area is just blocks from the quiet seclusion of the old neighborhood. Take the retro-cruisers out to explore. You will surely find something special.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My friends and I traveled to Reno for the Tour de Nez and had the pleasure of renting and staying in Alyce's parkside retreat. Alyce was wonderful; she was flexible with our arrival and departure times, and even left us a pitcher of sun tea on the back patio to enjoy! The house was perfect for two couples with king size beds, plenty of privacy and full of ecclectic charm. It is a beautiful peaceful space right on the Truckee River and just a short 15 minute walk to central Reno. It's perfect for your summer or winter trip to the Reno/Tahoe area!

It was exactly how the photos were depicted. Home-y, interesting and welcoming.

  • 5 of 5

Alyce did a nice job of welcoming me to the house. It was comfortable and everywhere you looked the art work was apparent. It was nice she allowed pets. It was well stocked with most everything you need in a house. I would go back there again when I go to Reno. THe neighborhood was quiet which I liked and easy to get around. Right near the Truckee rIver and the park. There are some nice restaurants that very close as well.

Creative, charming, cozy and convenient!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Alyce's house beginning with Food Truck Friday at nearby Idlewild Park, a much appreciated suggestion in our welcome note. The house is a feast for the eyes, soul, and senses thanks to the amazing tile and mosaic work, the beautiful parquetry floors, the colorful walls, and creative touches throughout. The beds and linens were very comfortable, and the kitchen and bathrooms were fun and well stocked. Everything was spotless! The backyard was a pleasant place to hang out in the evening. Located in a nice neighborhood which is very close to the park and river walk. Hoping to stay there again sometime!

Delightful, comfortable, charming, well located!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this property with another couple, which allowed us to have plenty of elbow room and privacy, as the house has two master suites. The house is colorful, artistic and charming, as well as well-provisioned. We especially enjoyed the patio and backyard, furnished with comfortable lounge chairs and a dining table. The yard was very pleasant, with nice plantings, a bit of lawn, and lots of little critters loving the trumpet vine.

The house is close to the river and a great walk/bike path, and is near an adjacent large park (we heard music and enjoyed the food trucks on Friday), and it is an easy short drive to downtown and mid-town.

We would definitely stay at Alyce's again next time we visit Reno.

This was our third stay and as expected it was perfect! The house is comfortable and you can't beat the location and the backyard. We always appreciate the bottle of wine waiting for us upon our arrival. Nice touch.

4th of July weekend

Great little house with a huge back yard. It had everything we needed. Super clean, linens were fresh, kitchen was well appointed. The owner is an artist and the home has her creative touches throughout. We enjoyed our coffee and wine on the cozy back porch. Make sure you take the included bikes for a ride along the river. Close to the casinos without the smoke and craziness. We will be back. Thank you!
