Wonderful, quiet, nice farm home

  • 5 of 5

It was wonderful to share a farm home experience with our kids and grandkids. Playing sardines in the large yard and property and eating fresh apples and plums falling off the tree and ripe for the picking was an added bonus.

It is conveniently located to Dungeness Spit which is a wonderful hike out to a lighthouse - almost the whole group made it save our 5 year old grandson. We loved it. It will be some of our clan's great memories.

And the cows on either side of the driveway is a special touch and some were very friendly.

P.S. The coffee maker needs to be replaced. It is slow, hard to use and easy to get burned.

a beautiful serene setting - quaint farmhouse.

  • 5 of 5

Our family recently stayed at the Historic Agnew Farmhouse- we found the house clean and welcoming upon our arrival. It was such a beautiful relaxing place for our family to together for meals and to spend our evenings at while visiting family in Sequim. The size of the kitchen and eating area were perfect for a large family and the yard was fabulous for children running and playing ( add the interest of cows ). The bedrooms all gave us peaceful nights of sleep.( all be part of one night a far away bark of a dog-probably at coyotes in the area). It was very close to the Spit which the family spent time at. The location was very easy to find with the directions given. We would recommend this property and would definitely stay here again. The property manager Angie answered any questions I had promptly by text or email. Thank you The Baumer clan

Agnew Farmhouse is as charming in reality as it is advertized. What an enchanted property!

  • 5 of 5

We had a marvelous time at the farmhouse. It was perfect for the two grandchildren and 5 adults. Everyone had a comfortable room. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious, and we appreciated having a mud-room where the dog could be housed when we didn't take her with us on excursions. The fire pit was a particular bonus, as it enabled us to make SMORES! For a large family vacation, your property could not be beat. Thanks for allowing us to stay with you!

Beautiful house, a few weird policies

  • 4 of 5

My gang of friends (5 families, all the adults in our late 30s and early 40s) go away together every year. This was our 9th year, so our 9th house rental together. The house was clean and in good shape. The kitchen was great for cooking and the dining room and living room great for gathering. There were enough dishes and pots and pans for us to do what we wanted in the kitchen (we cooked all our dinners in the house). We enjoyed visiting the piggies that live on the property, and took walks both from the house and hikes on Dungeness Spit and in the National Park.

The four bedrooms upstairs are all fairly nice (the futon on the bunk bed was reported to be pretty uncomfortable). The fold out couch was rated as good, for a fold out couch. I was worried that only two bathrooms would become an issue for our group but it did not, everyone was able to have their needs met. The bed in the "blue room" upstairs was VERY high off the ground (something to think about if your group includes older folks) and the stairs were fairly steep and narrow.

There are a few things we found odd, after 9 years of doing this. One is that the deposit structure was unlike any other house we'd rented (we are used to getting 100% of our deposit back). Another was that the confirmation email included a recommendation that we bring our own toilet paper, paper towels and dish detergent. Apparently they don't stock these other than the first roll of paper in each bathroom (which feels cheep when we've paid so much for the rental. The confirmation email included directions but not an address, so we couldn't use GPS to get to the house. None of these are deal breakers, they just, on balance keep me from recommending the house as highly as I could.

Owner's Response: Rebecca, I am sorry you did not have the supplies you needed. On large groups like that we ask that you supply some of your own products since it really does supersede the normal amount of consumption. But it was good feedback. As far as the deposit. It has nothing to do with me. It is the policy of VRBO. I think it is unfair also that they don't tell you up front there is a fee attached. You could of bought the insurance for that. I think I am just going to drop that option all together. Thanks for your feedback. I am glad you had a good time. Janie/owner

Wonderful house for us : crowd of twelve

  • 5 of 5

We had a big family reunion at National Olympic National Park. Most of our relatives stayed in Red Lion Hotel. While us (my husband, me, my two sons' families, total of six adults and 6 kids including a baby) rented this farm house for five nights. This farm house is very convenient, easy access to most of the interesting points, restaurants, and shopping. The house is clean, cozy and beautifully updated. Everyone enjoyed the stay and the kids, especially, had wonderful time playing games, Foosball, and chatting together in the house and at the back yard, playing on the swings, climbing the trees, feeding the pigs. We really did not want to leave and hope to come back some day. One small thing: when we arrived the house (Saturday around 5 PM), a smoke alarm was making sound. Once I called the manager, someone came within ten minutes to take the battery off and came back next day (Sunday morning) to put a new battery in. The service was pretty impressive. Overall, very pleasant stay! Thank you, Janie, for sharing your farm house with us!

Very Nice House for our crowd of 11

  • 5 of 5

We travel to a National Park each year as a family of 11: 5 kids and 6 adults. Ages of children range from 17-3. We had a wonderful vacation at this house. We arrived in the late afternoon after shopping in Sequim for groceries. The house was ready for us, very clean and we quickly determined the sleeping arrangements. Our 17 yo grandson slept on the first floor. This allowed him to play his electronic games and have his own space. Behind his room was a large bathroom with tub and shower. The bathroom was shared with everyone such as the little girls for baths. Upstairs in the 4 bedrooms eveyone else slept and the accomodations where fine. We all shared a bathroom there. As the grandmother I was nervous about access but we worked this out without problems. The house has a foosball table and a large backyard which allowed the kids to play outside after dinner. In addition, there is a barn with pigs and an owl which entertained everyone since none of us were farmers. As one review pointed out, the house is close to Port Angles and that is where we shopped. Our location allowed us to visit large sections of the park from Lake Quinault to Hurricane Ridge. We all appreciated the home with plenty of cooking space and numerous dishes. Having a dishwasher was a plus for a large group as was the washing machine. There is no phone in the home and I did not send my cellphone number to the owner which created some confusion but all worked out for us. The hosts were very helpful with directions and tips and the property manager was helpful as well. We enjoyed our stay. Our biggest issue was learning we needed to be back in Portland by 3PM for wedding of good friends after we had arrived in Sequim so we had to pack up everything quickly.

Location

Historic Agnew Farmhouse country living at it's best! Just minutes from Sequim, Port Angeles, Dungeness Spit, Olympic Game Farm, Discovery Trail, and the Olympic National Park. The Agnew Farmhouse has the same sunny weather as Sequim. This area is in the rain-shadow of the Olympics and is known as the 'Blue Hole' for the much lower rainfall and more frequent sunshine. The ferries to Seattle and Vancouver island are easily accessed from the central location of the Agnew Farmhouse. Must see Victoria!

Notes:
The Historic Agnew Farmhouse is the original dairy farm that supplied milk to the residents of Agnew and Sequim circa 1910. It is still surrounded by 10 acres and feels quiet and secluded. Lots of room for family indoors and out. Decorated in the farm venue, the huge country kitchen has lots of seating. Separate laundry/ game room with foos ball table for noisy gamers. Outdoor fire pit for friends and family gathering. The 'Old Olympic trail' bike and horse path is very close to the driveway entrance and easily accessible. The dungeness spit is around the corner, Hurricane Ridge is in view, and the Olympic National Park is only 20 miles away. You will not get bored with the natural beauty in this area.
