Our home is just steps from the beach and has a large covered lanai with a flatscreen TV overlooking the screened and heated pool deck. Watch TV while swimming, sunning, or relaxing! The lanai has a comfortable seating area to relax and a 6 seat dining table with a pass through kitchen window for convenience. Our 3 bedroom (with 2 master bedrooms -each with king sized beds), 2 bathrooms home was updated in 2012 with all new appliances, complete re-plumbing, new air conditioning, updated electrical and more. Everything in the home including all furniture, kitchen equipment, and linens is new in 2012 and we are on a continuous update cycle. We stay in this home often and are constantly maintain and updating to keep the home and contents fresh and in good condition. The house has a very fast and secure WiFi network that works quickly even by the pool! We have 46 inch LED HD TV with DVR in the living room, a 39 inch LCD HD TV in the Master Bedroom with a HD cable box, a 32 inch LCD HD TV in the guest bedroom, and a 32 inch LCD HD TV on the lanai. Guests love our floorplan with plenty of space for everyone and split bedrooms for privacy. The house is open and airy with high ceilings in the living area and tasteful tropical colors and decor throughout. Virtually the entire house is hardwood flooring. Our selection of furniture, linens, and kitchen equipment is considred high end by our guests with enough and more of everything. Guests often tell us our home are the best equipped rentals they have ever stayed in. Everything does include many beach chairs and loungers, floats, pool and beach toys and of course, a gas grill.
We are long time Sanibel visitors that started visiting Sanibel by staying in condo's and eventually moved to renting a home. In 2008 we bought our first house on Sanibel as a second home and rental and now we have added this house in 2011 as a second home and rental. Guests often tell us that they can tell we stay in our homes because they are so well equipped. We make them very homey and comfortable with everything you need for a great vacation. We enjoy Sanibel and the opportunity to share our homes with many wonderful people.

We bought this home because it first and foremost has a wonderful West End location Very close to the beach! The floor plan is great with loads of space in almost 1,800 sq feet of actual living space. For example the Master Bedroom is 14 ft x 18 ft, very spacious and comfortable with a king size bed plus of course, has a master bath and large walk-in closet. Our guest bedrooms are very large with a second master bedroom with a walk out to the lanai and a king size bed. The second guest bedroom has two full or double beds comfortably providing a great deal of sleeping space. Virtually the entire home has a beautiful hardwood floor and is open and airy with high ceilings. A centerpiece of the home is the 12 ft x 24 ft covered lanai overlooking the large screened pool and pool deck. The lanai has a comfortable sitting area and a table seating 6 with a kitchen pass through window for convenience. Guests love watching TV while enjoying being outdoors! The pool is heated of course and has a sitting bench. The back yard is private and tropical.
The most unique benefits to our home are the very short distance to the beach and the wonderful lanai and pool area. Two master bedrooms is wonderful for our many guests that use them with each bedroom offering a king size bed for spacious comfort. Our home is extremely well maintained and we here from many experience guests that our home is by far the best equipped home they have ever rented on Sanibel. Now wonder we have so many returning guests!
We have rented several homes on Sanibel and this home is the nicest, most well equipped home with a five minute walk to the beach. The pool and lenai areas are beautiful. The bed arrangements are better then most rentals -- Kings in 2 bedrooms and large beds in the third. Every guest will be comfortable in this roomy unit

Very nice bungalow near the beach with excellent comprehensive loving device (Christmas tree) and facilities for adults and families. Clean and well-kept property with large garden and heated considerate protected and secured-maintained outdoor swimming pool with shower. No complaints. Nice and helpful owner with personal service at issue. We can recommend the offer and would love to come back.
One of the main concerns when travelling on any holiday is 'what will the accomodation be like'. Rest assured, 399 Lake Murex will not disappoint you. This is the fourth time we have rented from Keith and Mary (twice at Lake Murex) and they make sure that nothing is too much trouble to ensure that we are comfortable.
Normally there are five of us on holiday, four adults and a child and there is plenty of room for all.
The house is well located on Sanibel with easy access to the beach and is very convenient for the stores, shops and restuarants. We particularly enjoy the pool for early morning swims and to cool off as temperatures rise. The house is always clean, very well equipped and being from the UK, the little things like a kettle are really appreciated.
What about Sanibel Island? most people who visit seem to return. We find it very laid back and relaxing, it provides everything that we need on this type of holiday. Great beaches, good fishing and usually lots of sunshine. There is an extensive cycle track along the island, so using the bikes provided by Keith and Mary we normally get some exercise and explore the island at the same time. Make sure that you take plenty of water with you (and drink it) as it can be easy to get dehydrated in the high temperatures!
We enjoy lunch at 'Traders', evening meals at Lazy Flamingo, Doc Fords or picking up some quality fish or meat at Jerry's and just having a barbeque at the home.
We can definitely recommend this house and hope to return to Sanibel soon.

The house is in a perfect location steps from the beach and bicycle path.It is in a very private and quiet neighborhood.
The house,grounds,pool and furnishings where of very good quality and in tip-top shape.
It is now beautifully furnished and the beds are comfy.The kitchen has everything you need for cooking,nice dishes,and the appliances are all new,modern and stainless steel
The heated pool,outdoor shower and the T.V. on the lanai is a plus
The new owners have really changed this house.We stayed there before and it has now been renovated from A to Z, everything is brand new.
Keith and Mary are very nice and they go all the way to make your stay pleasant,comfortable and relaxing.

We had the opportunity to spend a month at this lovely, spacious home in a quiet neighborhood, which is still in proximity to shopping, restaurants, beaches and bike trails. The house had just undergone extensive remodeling with new decor, furniture, appliances, etc. Our favorite spot was the comfortable lanai overlooking the screened-in pool. The lanai has a TV which made this a perfect place to relax and watch March Madness! The home is well equipped with everything we could possibly want or need. The attached garage and available bikes are definite assets. We know Keith and Mary, the owners, are very concerned that their home be in the best condition and that their guests have a great vacation experience. We highly recommend this vacation home.
This was the 3rd time we have rented from the owners, although the first time to this house, and what a fantastic time we had. First of all, the house is lovely, and has a terrific flow from end to end. As with their other property, Keith and Mary have furnished this with both style and comfort in mind, making it a joy to spend time in. The tv on the lanai was a nice touch, but everything has been furnished to a very high standard, with many items that you wouldn't normally expect in a rental property. We made good use of the bikes provided, often taking them to go fishing from the beach, or just riding along the island (no hills!!!). Back at the house, the pool was a very popular spot, it was a very pleasant temperature, and great to jump in when the weather got too hot. In the evenings, there is cable tv, and several tv's to watch it on, and also a good selection of dvds, books and board games to keep everyone happy.
In short, Keith and Mary are the most helpful owners we have ever rented from, and we will be back here as soon as we possibly can. Look no further than this property, or the alternative property on this website, and you will have a very relaxing and satisfying vacation.
Our home is located about one mile west of the intersection of West Gulf and Tarpon Bay Road and sits just a block off of West Gulf in the Lake Murex neighborhood. The house is a VERY short 5 minute walk from the beautiful West end Gulf beaches which are quiet and loaded with seashells. Beach fishing is amazing. Ding Darling National Wildlife refuge is just a short bicycle (4 adult bicycles provided) or car ride away and features abundant bird watching, wildlife viewing, kayak rentals, pontoon rentals, fishing guides, and more. The Shell Museum, Historical Museum, and live theater are within a few minutes drive. Great restaurants and shopping are readily available from our location. Two public golf courses and the Sanibel Recreation Center are just minutes away, all available to the public for a fee.
