FOX RUN CABIN - RARE FIND WITH A CREEK AND A VIEW! AND YOUR OWN PERSONAL WATERFALL ONLY ABOUT A HALF MILE HIKE UP THE MOUNTAIN CREEK! We knew we had found a treasure the first time we saw FOX RUN. We immediately fell in love with it's naturally peaceful ambiance. In fact, we loved it so much we decided to purchase the property and share it with others from all over the world.

The minute you pull into the driveway at Fox Run you will view it's comfortable setting nestled down in front of a gorgeous mountain view. As you step out of your car you will hear the sounds of the rushing creek that streches the entire length of the property boundary.

Upon entering the cabin you will immediately notice the fine natural cherry floors, pine wood construction and the sweet wood aroma that you would expect in a custom hand built mountain cabin. It is open, airy and spacious. It is truly a gem.

Fox Run is undoubtedly one of the most popular cabins available for guests who want to come and enjoy the wonders of the Great Smoky Mountains!

It's so peaceful... Shhh!!! We've been told that God lives there. We're pretty sure he does!

Just read what some of our past guests have written in our guest book:

'We have fallen in love with Fox Run, especially the rockers on the expansive porch late in the evening. And with the soft bed and open windows with the rush of the little creek at night. Thanks to our great hosts who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant. We return to this area about every 10 years but Fox Run has made us want to return much sooner, (Maybe 6 Months).

'Spectacular views! We are celebrating our 16 year anniversary. What a place to celebrate! Fox Run is Great! Thank You for sharing it with us. It's so cozy. We love the porch and the rocking chairs, looking at the mountains, dreaming. The noise factor is so great, especially at night when all you hear is the creek and the animals. The hot tub was so relaxing after a day of shopping and checking out the area and so much to do. Living in Frankln NC at one time in my life, this was like coming home for me and a great adventure for my husband, who is from Long Island NY. There is nothing to complain about here. You just relax and enjoy God's country and look with amazement at what he has created for us to enjoy.'

'Thank You so much for sharing this beautiful place. Our stay was wonderful. The sounds of nature, the porch, the view, the smells, the beds, the hot tub!!! Loved it all! We went tubing, rafting, hiking, biking, picked blueberries, raspberries, baked, canned, slept, played! Magical. For sure we will be back!'

'My Husband and I are celebrating 22 years of marriage. This place, (Fox Run) has been magical. Among our most magical moments, I'll hit the highlights.

1. Hummingbirds at the feeder

2. At night a field full of Fire Flies. Incredible!

3. The wild flowers were awesome

4. The peach and apple trees, blueberries and black berries were abundant!

5. Babbling creek - (meditation time)

6. The View!

7. The wonderful porch. I have no porch so coffee in the morning in the rocker on the porch is magical for me.

8. Enjoyed the birds.

9. Hot Tub Heaven!

'This was our 3rd year staying at Fox Run. It's nice staying at a familiar place. As always, we enjoyed the peace and quiet. This year we skipped white water rafting. Instead we went tubing in the GSM park. What a great time! We would highly recommend spending a day tubing the river. We also went on the great GSM train to the Nantahala Gorge. It was nice and relaxing. Thank You for providing a lovely and pleasant place to stay!'

Dear Future Guests,

We come all the way from Miami Fla. This is our second time staying at Fox Run. With that said, it's quite obvious that we had a great time. It is by far the best place to come and relax, with the breathtaking views and the wonderful silence, this vacation was very much needed and I highly recommend to everyone to stay at Fox Run. We hop you enjoy it here as much as we do!

With Love,

The Garcia Family

What a great place to vacation. Secluded, quiet and relaxing. I have NOTHING negative to say about the cabin.

Cabin is tucked away in the mountains on a winding one lane dirt road with a small creek crossing you have to drive through. The drive up and down the mountain on our daily excursions was also enjoyable. The views are breathtaking.

There is a waterfall hike you MUST do that is within walking distance from the cabin. If you’re out of shape, I would reconsider the hike. It’s straight up the side of the mountain, no switch backs. My family hiked it without issue. The LARGE waterfall at the top is worth it.

The cabin was clean and comfortable. The large deck out back was one of my favorite places. The view of the smokes off the deck at various times with the sunset… WOW!!

Hot tub is down a lighted path just below the cabin and sitting raised above a flowing creek. We all enjoyed it while we were there, day and night. The path and deck are lighted. Hot tube was a little glitchy but it eventually sorted itself out.

Activities you MUST do while there, maybe this will help someone.

1) White water rafting with Nantahala Rafting ( – So much better than the other LARGE rafting places.

2) Zip lining with “WildWater”. Just the zip lining, NOT the rafting.

3) GO hike the section of the Appalachain Trail at the Peak of Otter Creek Road. The trail takes you to a fire watch tower. It’s about a 4-5 hour hike total there and back. The view at the top is worth it. Seriously get your big boy pants on and hike it.

4) My son and I fished up and down Otter Creek road too. Caught my first river trout!!

I was not personally impressed with the train ride in Bryson City, not worth the money IMO, but to each his own.

Look what I’m getting at is I do not review things. I have limited time in my life. This place deserved me to take time and get this written.

The cabin is located up a mountain road with the exciting excursion thru a shallow (4in) creek to access the cabin.

If you are looking for a true retreat this is it.

Well appointed with all you need for a wonderful vacation.

Grandkids loved every second and no tablets or tv games the entire week.

Our hosts were wonderful answering all of our questions quickly!

We will return

Quiet and secluded

  • 5 of 5

Fox Run is nestled in a quiet mountainside setting with a picturesque cascading stream and long range views as the backdrop. The expansive back porch lures you in with it's comfortable rocking chairs facing the valley and range beyond. The hot tub offers a serene, relaxing soak after a long day of hiking, tubing, antiquing, or just enjoying being in the mountains.

The house is well stocked and cozy. Perfect for a week or a weekend. The beds are comfortable and the master has a wonderful view off the back of the cabin. It was truly a pleasure to stay at Fox Run.
