Settle into our modern and comfortable three bedroom villa within the confines of a secured resort and just 10 minutes from South Africa's flagship Kruger National Park (KNP). This self-catering unit, in Hazyview, offers a fully equipped kitchen with spacious open plan living and dining rooms, three full bathrooms, and a large outdoor deck with braai/BBQ. One en-suite bedroom has a king bed, another has two twin beds with its own bathroom while the third en-suite upstairs has two twin beds. All bedrooms have air-conditioning and block out curtains. Our self-catering kitchen will meet all your needs including a coffee machine, toaster, microwave, electric kettle, stove, oven and dishwaher.
Sip your favorite drink while enjoying the South African sunset over the mountains from the romantic, shaded balcony off the upstairs bedroom. Among the resort’s many amenities are a golf course, tennis courts, a hippo hide and plenty of kids' activities. Our villa is a minute’s walk from one of the resort’s three swimming pools (not the main one so less busy) and close enough to the hippo hide to hear them grunt at night. The villa is located near three supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and shops. Only 10 minutes away, KNP’s Phabeni entrance gate is one of the few that offer guided night drives to safari enthusiasts not staying inside the game reserve.
The open plan living and dining rooms give the downstairs an airy feel with views of the outside and easy access to the patio via two sliding doors. A large wooden deck with built-in grill/braai is an ideal entertainment area and a lovely way to the end the day. Double covered parking is available. A nine-hole 18 Tee Gary Player designed golf course, three swimming pools, and a restaurant are also on site. All bed linens and bathroom towels are provided. The lounge offers a wide selection of DStv channels on our flat screen TV.
Guests have access to all the following amenities provided at The Kruger Park Lodge:
‘Big Five’ game drives
4 tennis courts
Gary Player 9-hole (18 Tee) golf course and driving range
Conference facilities for up to 40 delegates
3 swimming pools
We are Heeten and Jenny and we own Swagat at Kruger Park Lodge. Heeten is from South Africa and Jenny is from Sweden. We have two kids and have enjoyed the wildlife and safaris for many years. We enjoy self-drive safaris and believe this is a wonderful way to enjoy the world famous Kruger National Park.
Owner/Property Manager purchased this lodge in 2012
Owning Swagat at Kruger Park Lodge is realizing a dream we have had for many years. Both our families love wildlife and are passionate about going on safaris -- we have been on safari in Kenya, Tanzania, and -- of course -- South Africa. We are so 'wild' about Kruger National Park in particular, that we even got married at a bush camp in the park!
The Kruger Park Lodge is a development with many amenities and this remains one of the main reasons we bought a place here. The place is immaculate and well maintained.
We wanted to find a home that gave us easy access to the Kruger Park. The Phabeni Gate is 10 minutes away so we can enter the park easily and come back to relax at the lodge.
To us, being in Kruger is at once peaceful and exhilarating: it is wonderful to be disconnected from the buzz of the internet and telephones, and to just take in the unique sounds, sights, smells, the air. And nothing beats the excitement of being the ones to spot a leopard or hear a herd of 200 buffalo thundering past the car. There is truly a satisfaction and excitement in spotting animals on your own, feeling like you are really in a wildlife documentary.
We had a wonderful stay at the house. More than enough space for 4 adults and 2 kids. House is beautifully decorated and has everything one needs to prepare food, braai outside etc. Located close to a more private pool and only a short drive to the Kruger National Park. Highly recommended.
Our family of 6 stayed at the lodge and it was a fantastic base from which to explore Kruger Park. The resort is great with load of facilities and the lodge was very comfortable and secure.
The lodge was exactly as explained. A beautiful lodge with plenty of room in a nice, very secure golf course resort. It made me wish that my young children were with me as it was a perfect area for a family. I highly recommend this place and Heeten was extremely helpful in planning while in the area. The wildlife viewing in Kruger was incredible and the panoramic route was equally gratifying.
From the start we were impressed with the booking process and how smooth everything went. Heeten was always quick to respond and very helpful throughout the process. The booking was very professional and well arranged, we knew exactly what was happening and what to do from the start till we checked out.
We would highly recommend the rental to all who are looking for a neat, well decorated, organised, quiet and very spacious lodge styled accommodation. The accomodation looks just like the pictures. Nothing better than relaxing on the deck while watching the sunset over the mountains.
The golf course, restaurant and ammeneties at the lodge are excellent and you will not be disappointed!
Really had an amazing time at the. Swagat lodge. Kruger was amazing and we received some amazing recommendations and our safari accommodations couldn't have been better. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!!
Visited Kruger yet another time and was lucky enough to find a self-catering chalet, at a really great price for six of us. We stayed at Swagat, a privately owned three-bedroom chalet located inside the Kruger Park Lodge. I dealt directly with the owner, Heeten, who was very prompt and helpful.
The chalet was very comfortable, nice and clean. It also has three bathrooms which was really great as we had to leave really early in the morning for the game drives. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a braai outside and a lovely stoep with amazing views.
The Kruger Park Lodge itself is a huge place with a golf course and a dam which had hippos in it! Out two-night stay was great and we will definitely be back.
The nearest gate is Phabeni, which is only a 15mins drive from the lodge.
The on-site Hippo Hide is a fun and relaxing way to observe hippos in the water. Our lodge is ideal to explore the Panorama Route and the Blyde River Canyon -- the third largest canyon in the world. Add fun activities likes zip lining, white water rafting, and a visit to an elephant sanctuary or a cheetah farm to your trip.
