Summary: The apartment is a fully furnished and fully outfitted serviced temporary residence apartment appointed with executive level furniture, elegant home furnishings/accents, state of the art electronics, luxurious linens and towels, and a very comprehensive kitchen, housewares, and cookware package. Our apartment is a luxury 2-Bedroom / 2-Bath apartment with a living room sleeper sofa located right in the heart of Washington DC at Gallery Place METRO - 2 Blocks from the Washington DC Convention Center and 2 blocks from the Verizon Center. It is walking distance to all major sights, museums, attractions, the White House, and the National Mall.
Apartment: The apartment is located in a newer, modern high-rise building. It is a spacious 2-Bedroom / 2-Bath Executive Apartment with living room sleeper sofa at over 1400 sq. ft. The in-apartment amenities include - oversized picture windows, large closets, and track lighting. The quality of the furniture and housewares in our apartments is head and shoulders above our competition.
The gourmet kitchen has full size stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. It has a built in microwave, as well as a full size dishwasher, gas range, and stove. The apartment also has a full size refrigerator with freezer and ice maker, pantry, a full size washer and dryer and a soaking tub in the bathroom.
The Living/Dining Room is spacious with a full size sofa, chair, and coffee and end tables. The large dining table with 6 dining chairs seats 6 comfortably and there are 2 extra padded folding chairs located in the front hall closet. The sofa folds out to a very comfortable Queen sleeper.
The TV package includes expanded digital cable channels, all HD channels, plus Starz HD. The living room TV is a 42“ HD 1080i flat screen Smart TV, the bedroom TV is a 32” HD 720i flat screen, and the stereo plays iPhone/ iPod. The Living Room TV is internet accessible so you may watch your own Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. The private in-apartment Wi-Fi is free of charge. The apartment phone system includes free nationwide long distance, local calling, and voicemail.
There is a Queen size bed in the Master Bedroom, a Queen size bed in the Second Bed Room, and a very comfortable Queen sleeper sofa in the Living Room. The mattresses are Double Pillow Top. The sheets are 400 thread count Egyptian cotton. Each bedroom has a very large closet. There are 2 full bathrooms. There is a soaking tub in Master bath. Select apartments have King size beds in the Master bedroom.
Parking: Secured access underground parking at the property with secured apartment elevator access is $20/night per vehicle.

Activities and Attractions - All DC sights and attractions!! The Capitol, K Street, Penn Quarter, Chinatown, Judiciary Square and Gallery Place are right outside your door. Walk to the Metro, shopping, sights, and restaurants. You can even plug into the new Electric Car Charging Station. Two blocks from the Gallery Place METRO station. It's just minutes walking to Chinatown, the Verizon Center, the DC Convention Center, and trendy Gallery Place restaurants, clubs, shopping, and activities. There is a major Safeway supermarket located less than 2 blocks away and there is a CVS/Convenience Store located right across the street from building front door. A Café & Wine Bar and a Subway Restaurant are located at the ground level of the property.

I have 5 apartments in the Gallery Place area of DC. I like Gallery Place due to its proximity to all the DC sights and it is only 2 blocks to the DC Convention Center. Just a few minutes walk to Gallery Place METRO station, which is a major DC subway hub and entertainment center.
This is a tremendous ultra-modern building with roof top views of all DC. Please read the reviews as the past guests just love this building and location.
We just stayed at 425 Mass Ave and it was wonderful. The place was immaculate, beautiful and convenient. The people at the front desk were all very nice and helpful. I wish you had places in every city. It was so nice to come back to a place that felt like a home and not a hotel.
Two couples traveling together stayed here for 5 nights while touring DC and Virginia. The condo is all on one floor, comfortable furniture, beds and bathrooms. We appreciated the layout with nice separate between bedrooms. Great eating (card playing) area for 4-6. Parking in the underground garage was secure and easy. We chose public transportation for 3 days, and it could not be more convenient with a "Circulator" bus stop on the corner, taking us into Georgetown for an evening, and into the Mall area in the day. Sixth Engine restaurant right across the street is terrific for happy hour or dinner. Lots of delis, bakeries in walking distance.
Great, well maintained, well appointed and comfortable apartment, with a good view of the Capitol. The apartments are less than 10 mins walk to the nearest Metro (and Union Station). Mark and Barbara were easily contactable and respond very quickly. Yes there's a fair bit of construction going on in the vicinity at present but it should be remembered this is a city location. There are 2 rooftop pools, including a smaller relaxing pool.
Good location, close to metro, grocery stores, pharmacy and several restaurants. We also chose to walk to the National Mall area attractions a few days which was about a mile, with many interesting buildings, shops, restaurants, etc. along the way. Great view of the city & some monuments from the rooftop of the building.
For the most part, the apartment was clean, however there were some dust-covered potato chips under the couch and the hallway walls could use a good cleaning or repainting. Living room furniture & area rugs were old & frayed. While the bath linens were very nice, the bed linens were cheap “box store bed-in-a-bag” quality, and the kitchen linens were virtually non-existent (one well-used dish towel and 2 dish cloths). Kitchen is moderately equipped, but if you have 3-4 people, be prepared to run the half empty dishwasher after every meal so you have clean dishes for the next meal. The cookware was good quality, which was a pleasant surprise.
Not a “kid-friendly” place as the residents are mostly young professionals and students from nearby colleges/universities, so every day the rooftop pools and deck are filled with parties where there is lots of alcohol and language that is not appropriate for children.
Don’t plan on sleeping in because very loud construction begins at 7 am six days a week. Thinking we would finally be able to get a little extra rest on Sunday morning didn’t work out well either because a 2 am fire alarm forced us down 14 flights of steps, only to find out that it was a false alarm which, according to residents, happens frequently.
The booking process was clumsy and frustrating. Communication from the manager bordered on rude and was the least “customer-oriented” exchange that I’ve ever had with any Home Away rental property.
Beautiful building, apartment, furnishings and amenities. Impeccably maintained and clean, this property was even more than we expected. The floor to ceiling windows in every room offer amazing views of the city and is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and virtually all the main sites in DC. I would highly recommend and can't wait to stay again in the future.
This apartment was in walking distance to everywhere. Apartment had view of capitol which was cool. About a 15 minute walk to the National Mall. Beautiful kitchen, comfortable beds, very clean apartment. Excellent rooftop pool with grill. Note: You need yo use a lighter to get grill on.
My only suggestion is it would have been nice if they would have had an extra comforter for the sofa bed.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in D.C., especially with all the amenities of home(washing machine, dryer, kitchen, living area) and a 2 minute walk to Safeway for groceries. It was nice coming back to this apartment after our long days.
