About The Owner

Brian and Katy Borchers have made their home on and off in Cooper Landing for the past 10 years. Shortly after their graduation from Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage, they began working for a local outfitter on the Kenai River and fell in love with the location and community. Management of select destination fly-fishing lodges took them to locations such as El Placer, Quintana Roo, Mexico and Kukaklek Lake, Katmai National Park, Alaska, but when the opportunity to manage Alaska Heavenly Lodge in Cooper Landing presented itself they grabbed it with both hands.

Katy grew up in the interior of Alaska, Delta Jct., and has traveled extensively throughout the state. However, she hasn't seen, and cannot imagine a place more beautiful than Cooper Landing! Brian always dreamed of traveling to Alaska, growing up in Fredericksburg, Virginia. They both enjoy fishing the Kenai River and it's tributaries, hiking the surrounding Chugach Mountains, and visiting with guests exchanging stories of adventure.

The Owner purchased this lodge in 2005

Warm hospitality on the Upper Kenai!

  • 5 of 5

After trying to make the trip to Cooper Landing for over two years, my girlfriend and I finally had the opportunity to stay at Alaska Heavenly Lodge this April. The experience DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Katy and Brian give a very personal touch to the 5-star hopitality they provide making us instantly feel welcome and at home. Gracious and polite and with a varied selection of accommodations we were so ecstatic with our experience. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and enjoyed the electric sauna and large, newly tiled shower in our own private room, as well as a starlight soak in the hot tub. Although we could have played pool or watched tv in the game room upstairs, or cooked a feast in the professional kitchen the lodge offers, it was Katy and Brian's warm welcome that made the experience SO wonderful. Highly recommended<3

Heavenly, indeed!

  • 5 of 5

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this lodge, and Katy and Brian! My sister and her new husband had their wedding here the last weekend of June. Katy worked closely with us over several months as we planned the wedding. She referred us to several vendors that they work with regularly – and they were all great as well.

My sis and her husband rented the entire lodge for three days so several of us stayed here for the long weekend. During that time I had the opportunity to see every one of the rooms. They are all beautifully appointed, warm and inviting. They were all impeccably clean. The kitchen was huge and had everything you would possibly need and then some.

If you are looking for a beautiful, clean and inviting place to stay in Cooper Landing… this is the place. Katy and Brian will make sure you are comfortable.

If you are looking for an outdoor wedding venue… look no further! This place is gorgeous, and Katy’s attention to detail in assisting with the planning… well you just cannot put a price on that. If you have ever planned a large event, you know what I mean! Katy and Brian seemed to be right there when one of us needed something or had a question, but didn’t “hover” and make us feel uncomfortable. Not once did we have to hunt them down or call with a question.

Thanks, Katy and Brian for making this beautiful wedding a success!

Beautiful Location

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at Alaska Heavenly Lodge for one week in the summer. We mostly wanted to fish and Katie and Brian connected us to some wonderful fishing guides. The fishing was fantastic! After a long day of fishing, we relaxed at the lodge, grilled on the porch and enjoyed the stunning views. Mostly, we stayed around the lodge but we did visit some of the local restaurants nearby. We had the time of our lives! Great place, great hosts...great time!

A Heavenly Getaway at Heavenly Lodge!

  • 5 of 5

My fiance and son decided to stay at Heavenly Lodge while visiting Cooper Landing. Not only was the location ideal for accessing various recreational areas on the Kenai River and peninsula, but the cost was extremely reasonable considering the overwhelming hospitality and exceptional service we received from the proprietors of Heavenly Lodge, Katy and Brian Borchers. We have every intention of returning to the lodge this summer for another fun-filled adventure at this rustic, Alaskan getaway.

The Lovely Luxury Lodge :)

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at the Lodge for a long weekend this past summer and enjoyed every minute of it. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting and the kitchen was wonderful. We enjoyed the firepit, the hot tub and the easy access to some nearby handicap accessible trails (which all the kids and moms with strollers really appreciated). I am planning on organizing a winter trip to take advantage of the x-country skiing and snowmachining trails. I would recommend this lodge for anyone looking for amazing accommodations in an amazing place.
