Wonderful family house fully furnished with all the amenities that you would expect in your own home. Built in 1904 and beautifully restored. Home has nice architectural details such as original plaster moulding, heart-pine hardwood floors, french doors opening to a wonderful porch where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and experience new orleans like a new orleanian !!! Charming home in a classic neighborhood that is convenient to so many attractions such as Audubon park/zoo/golf course/tennis courts. The st. charles ave. street car is a short 3 block walk. Historic Magazine st. is only 6 blocks. Very convenient area with easy access to uptown (Tulane & Loyola universities), carrollton/riverbend, downtown/warehouse district & the historic garden district and french quarter. Hundreds of restaurants within a few minutes. The bedrooms are independent (THIS IS NOT A SHOTGUN HOUSE) and there is a sofa bed which allows for 2 more to sleep (house sleeps 6 total). washer/dryer is inside for your convenience. Home has a fully equipped kitchen with all appropriate cooking utensils, microwave, coffee pot and blender.

My husband and I have been married for 10 years and have 3 young children, 6 yrs.,4 yrs., and 1 yr. we have had the pleasure of staying in countless B & B's, VRBO's and cabins. This property is hands down a 5-star experience. All the sheets, towels, linens, pillows and kitchen equipment are brand new. The house is as clean as it can be and best of all, it is clutter-free. Simply elegant and not meant for the Bourbon Street Rebel Rouser. True New Orleans Architecture. Great location!,

New Orleans Uptown stay!

The location was good; but, we should have been warned of all the street construction and have been given some kind of warning in advance. The house locks were very unsafe -- seemed like an easy break-in place. We did have a police patrol in the area, which helped a little. The house was very dirty and needed maid service seriously. We had to go purchase sinus medication to complete the stay. The coffee pot was cracked; but the owner did bring in another after our complaint. The grass needed cutting, (which a service did come the next day). The outdoor cook area was completely un-useable for our planned football game watching outdoors! Owner needs to take care of the place better. There was a bad water leak in front yard near front porch. We could not enjoy the front porch because it needed much cleaning.

Great location!

We stayed here for Jazz Fest 2016, and enjoyed the home very much. Although we didn't get to make use of the outdoor area due to rain, the inside was comfy and inviting, with plenty of room for two couples and lots of wet clothes! We loved the neighborhood, and it felt very uncrowded and non-touristy for an "event" weekend. Langenstein's across the street is a great little grocery with a good selection of meats and cheeses and pre-made items. All in all, a wonderful stay! We will be back! Thanks to Stephen for everything.

Could not be more charming

Beautiful house conveniently located across from a nice little grocery store, easy walk to street car, Magazine Street restaurants and shops, Audubon Park and Tulane campus. The property was very well-decorated, with comfortable beds, good space for cooking and entertaining. Great front porch and covered back yard "man cave" with bbq grill and large table. Layout of rooms is especially nice for a 6-person occupancy since living room with sofa bed can be closed off for complete privacy. There is some street noise from the front room but the 2 bedrooms are very quiet. Master suite is spacious and has a great bathroom. Excellent property, we will definitely come again.

The Pitt Stop

My son and daughter-in-law and their two boys and my husband and I stayed for 5 nights. We were in town for a wedding. The house is charming and we had plenty of room. The beds and pillows and bed linens need to be updated. The place has tons of character and we loved the location. Right across the street from Langenstein's grocery, good parking. We walked to Audubon park one day and then drove over there (only a mile) and walked along the path for another 2 miles daily. So lovely. We will definately rebook this house in the future.
