Overview

About the property

Cabin, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Paradise Valley Cottage is your comfortable home away from home set amongst giant willows and pine trees with a view of the Rocky Mountains. The cabin is a stand alone building on our ranch with a very private entrance. The cabin is centrally located between Livingston and Yellowstone National Park with easy access to all that Paradise Valley has to offer. Step onto the wood deck and flagstone patio to enjoy the magnificent mountain views and barbecue your favorite meal. Walk along Eight Mile Creek to our private pond and watch the trout jump or stop on the bridge to enjoy the music of the water flowing while gazing up at Emigrant Peak.

Five miles from the cottage is Chico Hot Springs. After a day of hiking or skiing this is the place to be to sooth your tired muscles and relax. Here you can catch a meal at the grill or make reservations for a more elegant dinner in the dining room. Later, you can take in a live band and dance the night away. On the way to Chico Hot Springs there is a general store with everything you can imagine and across the street is a post office, bank, deli, bakery and the Old Saloon where you can enjoy a fantastic breakfast, burger or your favorite beverage.

The biggest attraction is just 35 miles south - Yellowstone National Park. Besides the famous Old Faithful Geyser, you will see wildlife - bison, elk, bear, big horn sheep, and if you're really lucky, wolf. The Park has so many wonderful sights that one day is never enough. If you are able, hike some of the back trails to really experience the peaceful beauty and in the winter, take a snow coach tour, snowmobile, or cross-country ski to enjoy the silence and pristine beauty.

For all the fishermen out there, Yellowstone River is easily accessed by our private site, one-half mile from the cottage. Set your drift boat in the river or wade in to catch rainbow and brown trout. Whether you are fly fishing or bait fishing, Yellowstone River will not disappoint. In the summer, if you're look for a boating experience or want to sunbath at the beach of a lake, Daily Lake is 15 minutes away and swimming, sailing, fishing and windsurfing are some of the popular activities found on this lake.

In the town of Livingston, among all the necessities (grocery store, pharmacies) you will find museums, art galleries, a farmer's market on Wednesdays throughout the summer, restaurants and boutique shops. There is also an 18-hole golf course and Sacajawea Park which hosts the annual music summer fest in July. Wintertime brings to Livingston live plays at the Blue Slipper and Firehouse, seasonal events such as the Christmas Stroll, bazaar and New Years Dance at the Depot.

About The Owner

Rodney & I (Diane) have owned our home since 1998 and have created a sanctuary that we would like to share with you. We have traveled throughout the world and have had the most enjoyable visits when we were in a home rather than a hotel. We have tried to make the cottage be a place of comfort so that you can enjoy your holiday without worry about accommodations. We share our home with our dog, Annie and our cat, Sara. We know this valley well and can help you to plan any part of your vacation!

WOW! What a great night! I slept like a baby, awoke to a glorious morning scene of snow capped mountains and sighed with a feeling of deep contentment. You are gracious hosts and your cottage is so cozy!

Good Property but Home Away has problems

  • 4 of 5

The cottage and owners were very nice. Photos were a little over complimentary. Unfortunately Home away had no address listed. The Home Away location map was off by a few miles and no arrival package was received with directions. When I tried to download the Home Away APP the site is always'unavailable.' All said I would stay there again. Good location, quiet. Nicely appointed. The problem is mainly with Home Away.

Very scenic and great for the price!

  • 5 of 5

Clean and very well stocked full of items we weren't expecting. Even though we did not use any of the stocked items it was so nice to know that they were there for our use if needed. Well maintained and private site. Easy to get into and out. Great location that was easy to find and not far from Yellowstone. We enjoyed our 40th wedding anniversary staying here. Thank you for your hospitality.

Even more than we expected!

  • 5 of 5

This place was so amazing. It was our 41 st annivasary and a very special trip for our 6 yr old grandson. We are born and bred Texans but believe we fould convert quickly! We spent 1 week in Montana exploring Yellowstone and another week in Wyoming exploring the Grand Tetons and all her beauty. The 6 yr old was never even slightly bored. He loved every moment. Him and GranPa would act like there was a baby deer outside our window. I would hear the hush, hush wisperings going on and would quickly sneak a peek outside. They would quickly laugh outloud! They were looking at the "littlebaby deer" on the big flower pot. Thought they were pulling one on me every time! We loved the privacy and feeling that we were all alone. The cabin is situated so that you dont realize the owners are next door. We love, love, loved this place. Hopefully we will be back next year, if my health doesnt fail! Thank uou so much for the use of your home.

Wonderful honeymoon

  • 5 of 5

Wow, I can't believe I didn't post a review 3 years ago when we stayed here for our honeymoon. I still think about this place often. When my life here in Detroit gets stressful, I think of this place and it gives me solace.

Everything about this trip was amazing. There's a reason why they call it big sky country. The owners were ultimately hospitable. So friendly and interesting. They were like the kind of people you want to be friends with. They left us champagne and orange juice for mimosas, which I thought was very thoughtful.

The dog followed us everywhere and we would wake in the morning and pet the horses.

I desperately want to go back!
