|Minimum Stay||3 - 5 nights|
Villa Talenti stands on a hillside in the elegant and unspoiled historic spa town of Bagni di Lucca. The residence is set magnificently within the splendid green and tranquil Tuscan countryside. Villa Talenti is only 50 meters from Terme Bagni Caldi, the famous thermal baths dating back to the Etruscan and Roman ages, and a romantic path takes you on a 5 minute walk to the piazza in Ponte a Serraglio.
The villa is named after the Tuscan family Talenti, that lived there for centuries and dates back to 1740 when the Bagni Caldi, the thermal springs, were at their heights of fame. Bagni Caldi has always been a popular destination for many illustrious visitors, from Pascoli to Shelley, Lord Byron to Puccini and Napoleon, Tsar Demidoff, Couperus to Henry James. Often they stayed in this healthy environment for weeks on end.
The villa has gone through a 5 year ground up restoration, retaining all the original features while featuring modern wiring, plumbing and central heating.
The piazza in Ponte a Serraglio, with restaurants, a gelateria, bars, shops and art galleries are all only a few minutes walk from the house. The nearest supermarket is 1.5 km away.
Villa Talenti sets the stage for tranquillity and serenity during your stay in Bagni di Lucca and is a good starting point for beautiful touristics trips.
Villa Talenti is located in a ideal position to reach the Garfagnana mountains, reknowned for its white marble sources. It is 20 km from the medieval city of Lucca, the Versilia coast, the Cinque Terre and major cultural cities like Florence, Pisa and Siena.
The Mimosa apartment which is for 2 persons was recently renovated and furnished to create a warm and authentic Tuscan atmosphere. It consists of a combined living room and kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom with twin washbasins, shower and toilet. It has a private terrace just outside the bedroom. There is also a large communal garden with lawn and view over the valley.
We are a couple that share a common love and appreciation for Italy and all things Italian. Rosaly is Brazilian/Italian and Christian is Norwegian.
Rosaly Palma Torvnes purchased this villa in 2011
We fell deeply in love with Bagni di Lucca and Villa Talenti when we first visited the place in 2011 and decided we had to fix roots there.
Bright and sunny apartment, good air circulation, wonderful views over the Lima river and the neighboring villages, central location, beautiful municipality consisting of a total of 26 hamlets/villages. There's a lot to see in Bagni di Lucca alone! (car is recommended)
The Villa Mimosa was a real dissapointment. It was very small and did not feel like it had been aired on arrival. There were no plugs for any of the sinks. The wall light in the living room did not work. No one came to greet us on Sunday as promised. The bedding was not changed as stated it would be after the first week. Some of the outside furniture was filthy. The bathroom sink leaked and it was alot further to walk to town about half an hour not 15 minutes and on a very steep hill. I have also contacted the owner regarding the problems but have had no response. I would not recommend this Villa to anyone.
Mimosa apartment was just as described and matched up to the other reviews posted. The apartment was really cosy and also light and airy. The terrace is great as it has the sun both in the morning and the evening with a lovely view and not overlooked. The surrounding area is beautiful, with great walks and plenty of history and cultural sites, and Florence is only an hour's drive. The village in walking distance is very quiet with only a couple of local bars/restaurants, but there are more options a mile or so into the main village centre (which also has a nice atmosphere). The walk back up the hill is lovely but is quite steep so wouldnt suit everyone. Overall we were really happy with the apartment and its facilities and surroundings and would happily recommend it to others.
Insgesamt wirklich empfehlenswert!
Consisting of three main centres, Villa, Ponte a Serraglio and Fornoli, Bagni di Lucca is surrounded by a constellation of villages and hamlets and the whole area is rich in artistic and natural beauties.
It is somewhat like a climatic mountain resort in spite of its mere 152 meters above sea level. The climate of the valley is characterized by mild winters and pleasant summers.
Rainfall is moderate and the winter snow is usually restricted to high altitudes.
Since the Middle Ages, Bagni di Lucca has been known for the therapeutic, thermal waters that flow from the flanks of a cliff called the Colle di Corsena.
The flora and fauna are typical of the Italian Apennines region: rich forests of pines, oaks, bay leaf, broom, chestnut, beech, hornbeam and fir trees.
The villages are distributed over the valley to the left and the right side of the Lima river. On the bottom of the valley are the main town, La Villa, and the villages of Ponte a Serraglio, Fornoli, Fabbriche di Casabasciana, Isola and Val Fegana.
The villages are all easily accessible from the center (La Villa) by means of good paved road. Many of the ancient mule paths that once connected the villages are still viable and lend themselves to hiking in unique and stunning landscapes.
Almost all of the villages are of medieval origin and are generally located on hilltops overlooking the underlying valleys, preserving precious memoires of the past.
Bagni di Lucca is close to numerous cities and places of touristic interest, such as Lucca, Pisa, Florence and Siena. It is 42 km from the Versilia coast with Viareggio, Marina di Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi, which are among the most reknowned seaside resorts of Italy. The ski resort of Abetone is 40 km away.
The things to see and actitivites to take part in are countless, from horse trekking in the mountains, hot air ballooning, canyoneering and hiking to lazing in the sun or being pampered at the famous spa of Jean Varraud and Casa Boccella.
In Autumn and WInter time there is an additional fee for the electricy used for heating.
