'Cheap and Cheerful' in a Superb Location is exactly what it is. This is a small, 20 square meter (215 square feet) studio flat with lots of light and a superb location with WiFi. STRICTLY NON SMOKING

NOTE ABOUT MINIMUM STAY: Please write to ask if you wish to fill a shorter stay gap.

Note: The flat has now been repainted, the wooden Venetian blinds have been replaced with white blinds (be careful not to be too rough with the cords please), Thick white curtains for the winter. New flooring. Nice and fresh. The bath tub is old and there is a shower overhead.

The Studio: Located on the 4th floor (5th floor for North Americans), with lift, with rooftop views. The whole of one wall is window so the flat is very light indeed. One comfortable double bed, ample storage space, desk, TV, small kitchenette with microwave, fridge, sink, two ring hob to cook on, kettle, storage, cutlery and crockery.

Bathroom with wash basin, bathtub with overhead shower, toilet.

Ideal for a single or a couple visiting London for a week or more. Although small, it is very light and airy. The location is absolutely superb with the whole of London within very easy reach.

Where is it? : Just over a minute's walk from Kensington Gardens with the Peter Pan statue, Italian fountains, Kensington Palace. This just next to where Kensington Gardens joins Hyde Park. Wonderful for strolls and picnics. Walk through the park to the Royal Albert Hall, the museums of South Kensington and the up market areas of Kensington and Knightsbridge (with Harvey Nichols and Harrods).

A 15 minute walk (if you don't want to take one of the many buses or the tube) to Park Lane, Mayfair or Oxford Street (Selfridges) or a little further to Bond Street.

A 20 minute walk, or a short bus ride to Portobello Road.

Transport is fantastic in this area: The flat is a two minute walk from Lancaster Gate tube station - very frequent and short journeys to Marble Arch, Bond Street, Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road (for Soho and Theatreland) OR to Notting Hill, Holland Park or Shepherds Bush for the largest city centre shopping centre in Europe - Westfield.

Many and frequent buses.

If this is not enough, you will be a 5 minute walk from Paddington station with the Heathrow Express, Heathrow Connect and another 4 tube/underground lines. Mainline trains to the West of England - Bath, Oxford etc, Wales.

Many buses available here too.

Queensway, a 24 hour International eating area is just a 10 minute walk away.

Super Location - London could not be easier than from this spot.

NOTE: Check in - We always try to get you in as soon as possible however, if your flight arrives early in the morning you must understand that you will not be able to enter the studio until 1100 - that is the earliest we could do it.

The location was superb, as you had promised and the studio, although small, was more than adequate for my six month stay.

Clean and simple

Great location between Paddington and Lancaster Gate stations. I stayed at the apartment for two weeks in September and was met by Don (Derek’sdad) who provided some great insider knowledge to London. It was a result of this information that I discovered my new favourite cafe underneath St Martin’s church in Trafalgar Square. Highly recommend morning or afternoon in the crypt. Hyde and Kensington Parks are 2 minutes away and you can even walk to central London once you cross the park.

Apartment is small but it has everything you need including kitchenette with cooking equipment. There is an elevator but ensure the inside door is closed after every use. There were times when other tenants left the door open and the elevator can’t be used. It is quick to use to the stairs if this happens,

A great place to stay in London and would stay here again.

Adequate but barely

.The neighborhood is wonderful. The apartment is very small, which we knew ahead of time, but was a lot smaller than expected. There are just a few minor things that could be done to make this apartment more welcoming.

I make it clear in the description that it is 20M2 (one can google 20M2 to find out what it is in square feet). I also make it clear from my first reply that the studio is " small, 20M2, not luxurious but clean, comfortable (new bed) and well located. The price is also one of the lowest in London for such a great location.

small and well equipped

Great location and we enjoyed meeting Don who was a VERY sprightly 89 yr old who welcomed us to the flat and spent time telling us about the area.My ONLY complaint is that there was No hot water from any of the taps (only the showerhead) which made washing dishes and taking a bath nearly impossilbe although i improvised with kettles of boiling water.All in all great value for money but needs water situation resolved.

Perfect location

The flat is simple and unassuming, and a perfect home base for your holiday. The bed is comfortable, the water is hot, it’s clean and there’s WiFi, which is really all we need in a place to stay. We cooked in a couple of nights, and had everything necessary to prepare a simple meal. Don, Derek’s father, is delightful and will tell you all you need to know about the area. You’re close to 2 underground stations and can get anywhere you need to go with no problem. It’s not fancy, and is a little worn, but it’s homey and comfortable, and we would stay there again in a minute.

Great location

Nice quiet street. 4th floor studio, with a lift. Very close to Paddington Station, just a few blocks. Also only 2 blocks from Kensington/Hyde Park. 2 blocks from Lancaster Gate station. Clean, small. Adequate. Comfortable bed, but just a double size. Needs a bit of TLC, but worked for us.

Just what we needed

Stayed for two weeks in August, everything was exactly as stated which is always appreciated. Perfect size for two people who are out most of the day sightseeing and kitchen is big enough to cook meals as well. The elevator in the building was out of order most of the time and it is quite a trek to the top floor, but other than that we had a very pleasant stay!
