Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday home in French Lick

House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 10-12) overlooking valley

French Lick’s oldest historic home features eclectic décor, antiques, original works of art, stained and leaded glass windows throughout. The cherry floors and hand-carved oak staircase will lead you to your own private retreat. With accommodations for up to 12 people.

Situated on French Lick’s picturesque hillside, this historic home features a magnificent view of the valley and the French Lick Resort and Casino, which is just a short walk away. Also within walking distance is the convention center, spas, shopping, museums, art galleries, dining and entertainment. Be sure to stroll through the town greens and enjoy the lush gardens and beautiful fountains, as well as occasional art fairs and entertainment, while on your way to concerts and the Bendelow Golf Course. Family attractions to amuse children of all ages include the indoor water park, miniature golf, laser tag, zip lining, indoor karting, boating, skiing, horseback riding, and the historic railroad complete with train rides, all within just a short drive. Also within a short drive are three premier golf courses.

Back at the Artist’s Inn, you can retreat from the nearby activities by kicking back on the breezy wraparound porch, with perhaps a glass of fine wine you carefully selected while visiting the nearby tasting bar at the French Lick Winery. You will also enjoy viewing scores of original works of art by owner and well know Indiana artists, Vesta Seville, whose commissioned oil paintings also hang in the West Baden Hotel and Pete Dye club house.

A fully equipped kitchen with a spacious dining area makes group dining “at home” a special time of togetherness. Additional cottages adjacent to the Inn make it easy to accommodate larger groups for corporate retreats, reunions, golf outings, group get-aways, and special occasions.

Rates for the inn are $299 and up, and private cottages start at $129. Prices are based on the number of nights stayed, the number of people, and the season. Prices are subject to change until reservation has been finalized. For more information, or to make a reservation, please call (812)936-7333.

About Vesta Seville

Innkeeper and Indiana artist and instructor, Vesta Seville, is internationally known for her unique style of impressionistic plein air paintings. A variety of art workshops are conducted on a regularly scheduled basis and includes such topics as basic figure drawing, introduction to art, drawing, shading and perspective, painting in watercolor or oils. Following a successful career in commercial real estate, Vesta returned to her home state of Indiana at which time she decided to focus exclusively on her art. Born and raised in Jackson County, Indiana, just south of Brown County, home to the artist colony of Nashville, Indiana, she developed an interest in art at an early age. Combining her love of nature with her love of art, she especially enjoys painting on location. She find plein air extremely freeing. In addition to plein air, Vesta paints still life and does figure drawing. Although she considers oil paint her strong suit, she also works in watercolor. See Vesta's paintings in the West Baden Resort's permanent collection.
