Comfy King Size bed for mom and dad and a queen for their guests on the upper level and a bunk room that sleeps six downstairs. Storyland Storyland Storyland Storyland is what your kids will scream as you drive bye it on your way to our place as we are 10 minutes away. The large screen TV and high ceiling living room and greenhouse kitchen are what you would expect to be part of your mountain vacation. Nearby is the Saco River and Watson's Farm and Watson's beach as well as the East Branch river at the bottom of Hemlock st. and a 15 min. walk away. Very close bye is Tuckerman's tavern and the Quaint little Jackson Village. If this were a rental a few blocks up the road it would be double the price as Jackson is highly desireable. Our Game room will keep your kids occupied and our kitchen is fully stocked. Game room has a billiard table, ping pong, and foosball table for your enjoyment.
My wife pictured here and I enjoy this land of many uses and is going on three generations. Flip through our guide at the property and find AMC trails from Marco or Recipe books in the kitchen from Jess or maybe some fishing haunts from both of us.
Marc Capaldi purchased this chalet in 2011
We have owned a condo the last 20 years in Lincoln, NH and we always found ourselves on the Conway side of the Kancamangus. We finally woke up and bought something closer to all the things we enjoy.
We can hike and snowshoe blocks away as well as fish the East Branch of the Saco steps away. Not to mention that you can bike, jog, or walk to the Jackson village and the Double head AMC trail on my road.
My husband booked this and I was very skeptical as his idea of a getaway involves fishing and hunting and lacks in the aesthetics dept.. This was not the case here the place was clean and airy and had a nice reading area in the loft nook and has tasteful art and a very well stocked kitchen. The neighborhood was nice and the trails nearby led to a very pretty part of the Saco river. At night we enjoyed wine by the fire and used the wonderful chimnea. We would highly reccomend this place and hope to return in the fall.
Beyond disappointed when upon arrival to find that there were dirty towels in the bathroom, laundry baskets on the floor and a bed that had been slept in along with a glass of water by the bed. This tells me that the property obviously was NOT cleaned before our arrival. Absolutely horrified. Staying there with three young children who crawl on the floor, which was dirty, and we had to do two loads of laundry- towels and sheets- before we could all go to bed. All this along with what I consider a late check-in time of 5:00. My husband texted the owner regarding the situation to which he replied that he would talk to his cleaning company. NO mention of sending someone out to clean and/or refunding some of the money for the inconvenience. Completely unprofessional, rude and disrespectful to expect a family to stay in a property that wasn't cleaned.
Fantastic house for a girls weekend away! 8 of us stayed very comfortably. Excellent amenities, kitchen with plenty of pots, pans, dishes, silverware.
Great table that fit everyone comfortably for dining and games!
Fun game room downstairs! Close to skiing and shopping.
Can't wait to visit in the spring for hiking!
We stayed in this cozy house for 3 days with my family, who came over from The Netherlands for Christmas. We drove from Massachusetts and it took us almost 5 hours because of the bad weather. But.... it was snowing and there was already a lot of snow so... we were happy!. It was hard to get to the house because of the fallen snow (and VERY icy!) and my husband slipped of the stairs and hurt his elbow. It would've been nice if the owner or cleaners would've put some salt but we found our way to the key lock and finally we could enter the house. IT WAS FREEZING COLD! Again... it would've been nice if the cleaners would've turned the heat on a little (The owner responded they were cleaning that day; before we would enter) and it took 3 hours to get it comfortable. The outlets in 1 bedroom upstairs didn't work but we were creative and used an extension cord for the portable heater. We found one in the master bedroom and another one in a closet. The beds were very comfortable and all the kids slept in 1 bedroom with large bunk beds. They had lots of fun in the basement with the pool table! We couldn't find any movies but we didn't really needed it... We loved the natural light that came in in the living room and the house was very nice and clean. The house seems old and the decor is a little 'out dated' but we thought it was a nice and cozy house. There is only 1 small bathroom (with shower and 1 toilet) in the house but that didn't bothered us. We loved the fact that it was in the middle of the woods and we hiked 2 trails that the owner recommended in the information folder. WE HAD A BLAST! The owner Mark was very helpful and it all worked out well. Great place for skiing at Attitash or Cranmore or hiking. We also loved all the stores and the downtown of North Conway so close by.
Thanks for a nice stay and that you handled everything so fast and smooth, Mark!
9 of us rented this house for my husband's birthday weekend. We wanted to explore nature, relax and hang out. This house was perfect! We had plenty of open space for board games, plenty of outdoor space for fires and porch time, and the house was clean and beds comfy. We had an amazing stay and would do it again. I would recommend to anyone. Everyone left happy. The only things that were negative about this property were the coffee pot being broken when we got there so that was not good for all of us I need coffee before 8 am types:) Also, the property manager showed up around 10 am on Saturday wanting to show someone the house. Awkward since all of us were in the stages of getting ready and showering and changing. We also had not been informed that this would happen so it was a little weird. Other than that, I would say it was a perfect weekend!
Overall this was a good location for our guys weekend. It is close enough to North Conway and Jackson to visit, but far enough that you still felt secluded from tourist traffic. We also enjoyed the close proximity to the Saco River (where we spent most of the time).
The home itself was kept up nicely. It was roomy and comfortable enough for 8 men.
Suggestions for improvement would be to add locks to the bedroom and bathroom doors. Also, the power outlets weren't working in the smaller upstairs bedroom. The front stairs are a bit tricky to navigate, but held up.
The fire pit and large back deck were perfect for unwinding after long active days. The kitchen and living room were wonderfully maintained, spacious and very comfortable.
Marc was a pleasure to work with and i would absolutely stay here the next time I am in the North Conway area.

Summer in the White Mountains and North Conway village and valley are full of outdoor adventure like the Saco River Canoe trips with Saco Bound or others, the camping, hiking and fishing. Trips to Watson's beach nearby on the Saco River. Your kids will likely scream Storyland Storyland Storyland or Cranmore Cranmore Cranmore as you pass them bye on your way to this magnificently centrally located spot. My personal favorite is the Whittaker woods where you can hike and go for long walks on their hundred acres that will lead you to artists ledge where you will channel your inner Picasso. If the outdoors is not your thing the outlet mall with Under Armour, Polo Ralph Lauren, Coach, J. Crew, and L. L. Bean. will fill the void. I happen to love fly fishing and lake boating and at the home are my trusty insider maps to put you away from tourists and on the bite. We have been exploring this place 20 plus years and we can fill you in on the rest if you wisely decide to stay at our lovely home.
