The photo is of me in front of the house. My husband and I travel frequently and whenever possible we rent a vacation home rather than stay in a hotel. We value comfort and convenience and keep in mind our own expectations and preferences when furnishing our rental. We will always choose a home with a garden, and a hot tub is always a bonus. After a day of touring and sight seeing, we enjoy sitting in a beautiful outside setting, enjoying each other and a glass of wine. We want to provide you with the best possible lodging experience to complement your enjoyment of the Bay Area. We are huge fans of the Bay Area and enjoy its offerings of beautiful nature and urban delights as though we are tourists. My husband was a frequent Bay Area visitor (from New England) when I met him here through mutual friends 12 years ago. After I spent two cold north eastern winters with him, he came to his senses and moved to the temperate climate of the Bay Area. We married 10 years ago, and he has no regrets about relocating!

*Sunny, warm climate, no fog! *Views *Garden *Peaceful and Serene *Central proximity to the Bay Area, San Francisco, Napa Valley, and other tourist attractions. Within walking distance of Mills College. Close-knit neighborhood of middle class professionals. Peaceful and quiet.
Proximity to Bay Area/Napa tourist destinations. Very romantic and private for a love-nest get-away. Wonderful home for families visiting relatives. Great for Grandparents!
The owners Dee and Kevin do a great job. The home is fabulous, it has a lot of charm and style and in a fun part of Oakland, close to shopping and restaurants. We loved the deck with views overlooking the city. This is our favorite VRBO place in the Oakland area, we hope to stay here again.
Lets start with the best veiw looking over oakland right towards the golden gate (binoculars are provided :-) ). When you open the windows and let the natural air from the bay come in, it feels like your outside(cool). It's in a middle class area(quiet and clean). Finding parking wasn't ever a issue (even when the neighbor's were having a bday party). It's a 3min drive to the highway that takes you right into san fran (15-20min drive). Beautiful backyard with a sweet jacuzzi. They were very accommodating more then they post. Enjoy the balcony, so relaxing.
We had a really great time staying at the Oasis. We were three adults who stayed there for five nights. I was grateful to find a place with two bedrooms and a king-size bed for my husband and myself. We said hi to Dee and Kevin one morning briefly as they were coming in and we were going out, but that was the only time we saw them during our time there. I could have called/texted Dee with questions if I'd wanted to, and she would have been happy to help. The kitchen was well-stocked with basic essentials and we cooked a couple meals there. The beds were super comfortable. The patio was lovely and large, and the view was gorgeous. TV and Internet both worked well the whole time. There were plenty of towels, pillows, sheets and blankets. My favorite part was the backyard. One afternoon my husband and I laid out on the grass reading a book, enjoying the beautiful day. We also spent a romantic evening in the hot tub, with an ivy-covered privacy fence and outdoor stringed lights. Overall, this place is not cheap, but I think you do get your money's worth.
The view overlooks the Oakland skyline toward the bay, with the East Bay Bridge and San Francisco in the distance. The owner thoughtfully provided binoculars. The open concept design lets you see this view from the moment you let yourself in at the opposite end of the apartment.
The entire apartment is tastefully decorated. The full kitchen has everything you need to make meals for a small group.
The apartment is the whole top floor, and is well isolated from the lower; we never had to worry about disturbing others.
The beds in both bedrooms are comfy and spacious. The closets and dressers provided plenty of room for clothing. The bathroom is attractively designed, functional, and even has a full size clothes washer and dryer tucked into the closet. I liked the modern door handles. Opposite the bathroom is a closet full of linens and supplies.
Each bedroom and the living room has a large flat-screen TV with plenty of programming. Navigating the living room TV input selections is a bit complicated, but I was able to figure it out with the help of instructions in the apartment dwellers' guide that had been emailed to us before the trip. (Don't forget to print it out and bring it.)
There is an iron and ironing board in the front closet, and a high chair in the front bedroom closet.
The deck is large and functional, with furniture and a large grill. It overlooks a large, attractive and well-maintained backyard. We didn't have time to try out the backyard hot tub.
Overall, we had a wonderful week in this place.
This place was awesome! My family (2 adults, 2 teens) had lots of room to spread out and relax. The house is gorgeous! We honestly were just looking for a place to lay our heads at night and had big plans to explore San Fran and Oakland during the day--we ended up spending a lot more family time lounging at the house than we expected! Easy access for going to baseball games at the Coliseum and at AT&T Park (although for a Friday game, allow about an hour for driving into the city due to heavy traffic, even though its not that far). Dee was very accommodating and is very good at making her guests feel welcome and informed of everything you will need to know about the area. The house was immaculate and beautifully decorated. We are from the east coast and the country--never once did we feel unsafe and we never had issues finding a parking space along the street. The neighbors were quiet as well as the streets around us. Oakland can be a little confusing to find your way around while driving, so bring a GPS or smart phone, but we managed well thanks to Dee's detailed notes! Plus, we discovered Dominos is within delivery range for a quick meal, meaning no driving necessary! We made use of the hot tub one day and the backyard landscaping was great, complete with hummingbirds! Plus, it was secure with a fence and locking gate. Awesome view of San Francisco from the deck, too! We had an amazing California vacation and would highly recommend this home-away-from-home to anyone searching for a place in the San Fran/Oakland area. Thanks again, Dee!
We really enjoyed our stay here in early August. The house was plenty big for me, my wife, and another couple. The pillow top mattress was very comfortable, the washer and dryer were a nice convenience, and the home had everything you needed and then some. The thoughtful owners even included things like binoculars, clothes hangers, and eye make-up remover in case you needed/forgot them. We saw the owner's for less than a minute when we arrived so don't worry about privacy. They were easy to work with through the booking, arrival, and departure.
Being from Texas, the non air-conditioned house was concerning, but it was not an issue at all in August with the high temperature around 65 during our 5 days/4 nights. Having the doors and windows open for a few hours cooled the house and they have box fans as well to provide additional comfort but they weren't necessary. Bugs/mosquitos aren't a concern like in Texas.
This was our first trip to California and the house was positioned great for our excursions. You are in Oakland and it is close to some rough parts of town, but this particular neighborhood was not concerning at all. For day trips, the house is a little over an hour drive to Napa/Sonoma, about a two hour drive to Monterrey/Carmel/Pebble Beach, about an hour and a half to the Muir Woods (the Giant Redwoods are amazing), and about a 30-45 minute drive to San Francisco depending on the traffic.
This is a great rental home if you aren't looking to just drink and party in San Francisco. We had a couple day trips to San Francisco as well as the places above. There is so much to do in the area that if you leave in the morning and get back to the house after dinner, it is a great place to unwind with a glass of wine or a beer and relax from a big day.
