Pretty, comfortable, clean & affordable. 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, sleeps 5.

This pretty cottage is just seven cottages away from Long Island Sound. It's snuggled inside a beautiful beach community of other cottages called Woodcliff Park (see google map insert) which is located on the North Fork of Long Island just 70 miles from New York City in the middle of wine country. The private beach and laid back atmosphere will soothe you. The cool wooded property that surrounds the cottage always has a slight breeze and attracts birds and chipmunks. In addition, the property allows guests close access to the Hamptons and Ocean beaches, Splish Splash water park, challenging golf courses, Tanger shopping outlet, East Wind caterers/day spa, Giorgio's caterers, fine dining or you can eat a boiled lobster sitting right on the beach watching a gorgeous sunset! Guestbook comments from the owner

We throughly enjoyed our time at the cottage, thank you for everything. It was so nice to rent somewhere that had everything we could need. The kids had a blast as well. We are looking forward to coming back next year July 8th.

Thanks again for opening your lovely cottage to us.

Cozy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is the second summer we stayed here. And the cottage hasn't changed.

You have all you need. It is very clean and warm. The beach is a five minute walk.

Wish we could stay a little longer but no time. Will try next year for a longer stay

Thanks again Lisa For a pleasant stay.

Owner's Response: Last Summer, this couple vacationed at the cottage with their children. This Summer, as sometimes happens, the children were busy with their activities, so the couple vacationed without the children and got some much needed downtime to recharge and refresh before school started. As many of our guests have told you, the cottage, patio and BBQ gas grill are clean, cozy and will give you an at-home feeling. Being able to walk instead of drive to the private beach is so convenient and pleasant. There are beach chairs, umbrella, boogie board and some fun beach things right at the cottage all for your use. When you leave the cottage and drive down Sound Ave. you'll be able to explore the area which is rural and is known for it's wineries, fresh local produce and pies sold at farm stands. There are also some outstanding local golf courses, restaurants and Tanger outlet which has hundreds of brand name stores at discounted prices. There is something for everybody.

Cozy, home away from home...

Our stay was wonderful! We truly felt at home, and having the beach in such close proximity was great. We will be back next summer.

Owner's Response: We are always happy to hear that a family enjoyed the cottage, beach and their weeks vacation. Our guests had children ages 23, 15 and 7. Sometimes it's hard to please all members of a family, but there truly is something for all to enjoy at the cottage and surrounding area. The feel- at-home sense that the cottage, patio, and beachfront community gives is very relaxing and welcoming. The beach is easy to walk to so you can swim, sun eat and drink whatever you like. Stay at the beach all day, or go back to the cottage for lunch, shower and do some wine and cheese tasting, visit the many farm stands which sell their local produce, pies and roasted corn, shop at Tanger outlet, golf, movies, fishing or just hang out on the patio.

Quiet, relaxing, & comfortable

  • 5 of 5

A small cottage away from traffic and noise, nestled in a small vacation community, this is a great spot to do all the summer activities Long Island's East End is famous for. It's not in the middle of anything, but a short drive to everywhere. On top of that, there's a beautiful North Shore Long Island beach a short walk away. We also got a nice view on the way there, and good exercise walking up the steps on the way back. We didn't have to pack beach chairs or umbrella, they were already waiting, courtesy of our host. Frankly, I could have spent my entire time splashing in the water, but with so much to do in the area, we found ourselves here and there enjoying nature, dining, and attractions. During our visit it was hot but the patio of the cottage was catching shade from tall trees here and there. At night we always enjoyed sitting on the glider on the patio. Our host provides an information book and menus, which were great to have. We forgot to buy sugar, but that was already there. We would have liked to stay longer.

The cottage was spotless when we arrived. Dishes, cups and basic cooking tools were provided. We had perfect weather, so we never had to dive into the board games, puzzles, or DVD selection. The beach requires a walk down stairs from the top of the bluff to the sands below. It isn't handicapped accessible. The only thing I didn't care for was the use of air fresheners. Being sensitive to smells and chemicals, I could have done without them. In fact, we took them outside for our stay. Frankly, the place smelled fresh our entire time without them.

If you're looking for a Long Island getaway, this may be the cottage for you. The host was a dream to deal with, checked on us once or twice, and provided a great place to enjoy a week or so in NY.

Owner's Response: We always feel fortunate when our guests are as wonderful as this family. They thoroughly enjoyed and used the property, the private patio and propane BBQ, the cleanliness of the cottage and other niceties provided such as beach chairs, umbrella, board games, books, DVD collection, a kitchen complete with pots, pans, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, utensils, 4 burner stove and a full sized refrigerator with an assortment of cooking spices. The cottage, as mentioned, is located in a beachfront community of other little cottages called Woodcliff Park which is laid back, relaxing and friendly. We have a private beach just a short walk away with no life guards whistles constantly blowing, where you'll be allowed to bring any flotation devise you desire, drink whatever you wish, and stay as long as you like. The area is great for exploring wineries, farm stands, great restaurants, golf, festivals, ocean beaches or shopping at Tanger Outlet. We keep a book of attractions we have enjoyed on the dining room table to which guests are encouraged to add to. Air fresheners are a personal choice. We ourselves don't care for them. We want to smell the fresh air, trees, sand and beach, but many guest like them, so we provide 2 and place them were they can be easily found and removed as this family chose to do. We would certainly love to have this family back as gueats again.

Perfect for Visiting Family

  • 5 of 5

We found the cottage on VRBO and contacted Lisa about a year in advance; she was so sweet and helpful from the very beginning. My husband's parents are from Colombia and this cottage was the perfect place for them to stay during their three-week visit for our wedding. We got married at The Vineyards in Aquebogue, NY and the cottage was just a short drive away. The cottage is located close to the outlets and other major stores, but also secluded enough that you don't feel like you are on a busy island. The beach was perfect for my in-laws and they were able to relax when we were busy doing wedding things. The cottage is very clean and comes equipped with everything that you would need for a short or long stay. My husband's sister and boyfriend also stayed a few nights and so we were able to accommodate everyone. We enjoyed using the grill and BBQ'ing on the patio; it's very spacious. Lisa checked in with us to make sure everything was okay and she was very easy to reach if we had any questions. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking to visit Long Island. We would love to reserve it again next time my in-laws visit the U.S.

Owner's Response: What a lovely couple and family to work with through out this past year as they prepared for their wedding day at one of the many beautiful venues on Eastern Long Island. The cottage is located off of Oakliegh Ave. the same street that Giorgio's wedding/catering banquet hall is located on. East Wind banquet hall/day spa and shops are close by as well as many wineries that host weddings and events. The cottage is a wonderful, relaxing and affordable place to stay while you attend a wedding, golf, party, or wine tasting event. And there is always the private beach, great restaurants, Tanger Outlet stores, Splish Splash waterpark and the infamous Hamptons to visit. You, your friends and families will be welcome here.

What a great place!

  • 5 of 5

Needed a quick get away, just 2 nights (it's the minimum stay). The place is perfect. 2 bedrooms, clean, bright, sunlit. Nice patio with private gas BBQ. The beach was right there and was not crowded at all. If you walked just a little bit past the stairs, you were basically away from everyone else.

The farm stands are open and local strawberries were in. Yumm. There's a great winery "Baiting Hollow Vineyards", "LIV" Long Island Vodka, and "The Cooperage Inn" all in a row right on Sound Ave. near the cottage. We did it all. Wish we had more time.

Owner's Response: We are very glad that this couple had such a great holiday weekend, and had some of the wonderful experiences that the east end of Long Island is famous for. They would be welcomed back any time.

Cottage by the Sea

  • 4 of 5

3 of my friends and I were lucky to have booked this affordable cottage during the "last weekend of summer"!

The location was so convenient to the beach and wineries! Lisa was such a pleasure to work with in booking this trip and the cottage was exactly as it was described in the listing. I would definitely recommend to all travelers visiting the North Fork area.

Owner's Response: If you want to experience Eastern Long Island, staying at the cottage is the way to go! The money you would spend on renting a limo for the day to run out to the wineries could be put to better use by staying as a guest at the cottage for a weekend, a week, or a month. You'd be able to relax, enjoy the beach, BBQ in your bathing suit on your own patio, go back to the beach or shower and go out for the evening. Visiting the wineries, farm stands with their fresh produce, homemade pies and honey is very relaxing if you don't have to make a made dash back to the City. The East End also has wonderful restaurants, golf courses, and the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center is not far away. Come and be our guest!

Eastern Long Island, is a fabulous area. The cottage is on the North Fork which hugs Long Island Sound and extends to Orient Point where you can catch the ferry to both Mohegan Sun and Fox Woods casinos. Visit the wineries and farm stands on both the north and south forks to give yourselves a wonderful day trip. Of course there's the beach within walking distance from the cottage. Do you like to fish? Captain Bob's in Mattituck is the place to charter a fishing boat. Afterwards, dine at 'The Waterfront' restaurant right next door on the outdoor deck, or inside. Do you like to golf? Try "Cherry Creek Golf Links" right on Sound Ave. just East of the cottage.

The cottage is also just 20 mins. from West Hampton on the south fork, where you can drive over the bridge to the famous Dune road and see all of the beautiful mansions! Keep driving, and you'll come to Cupsogue County Beach which is open to the public and enjoy a day at the ocean. West Hampton is your gateway to The Hamptons. Enjoy!

In addition to the private beach, Woodcliff Park has a community laundry room with coin operated washers and dryers. Next to it is the basketball court.
