Three bedroom, 3.5 bath villa in the desirable Peterborg section of the beautiful island of St. Thomas (near Magen's Bay). Views of Hans Lollick, St. John, the British islands and blue seas beyond will enchant you from this seaside villa set atop a bluff at the ocean's edge where you can watch sea turtles swimming below. Well laid out with a bi-level floor-plan and air-conditioned throughout, the main floor contains living, kitchen and dining areas and one bedroom/bath suite. The modern kitchen has all necessary amenities and includes a wine cooler.
Each room has its own deck. The living area opens to a staircase down to a sunny cliff-side pool and deck complete with its own palm trees! Adjoining the pool deck is the spacious air-conditioned master king bedroom with bath suite including an alfresco shower and double sinks, and its own balcony overlooking soothing waves breaking in the cove below.
The property also boasts an air-conditioned cottage with its own kitchen, bedroom area and alfresco shower and private deck.
With the sounds of whispering waves and cooling trade-winds gently sweeping by, this very well-equipped villa provides a wonderful spot on St. Thomas's north side for a private and relaxing vacation. The villa is set on a nearly one acre ocean-front parcel with tranquil landscaped gardens featuring an abundance of colorful flora, plus fruit trees, Traveler Palm, and a bougainvillea privacy hedge.
Also includes access to neighborhood pocket beach on Magen’s Bay (Platform Beach). Be sure to visit Magen's Bay Beach which is only a 5 minute ride from the villa. Consistently ranked in the '"Top 10 Worlds Most Beautiful Beaches." There you will find full facilities, restaurant/bar, kayak/SUP rentals & a gift shop.
St. Thomas has many restaurants/bars & endless activities. Golfing too @ beautiful Mahogany Run Golf Course which is only 10 minutes away and open to the public. The villa is also convenient to duty-free shopping @ Charlotte Amalie harbor. Be sure to take a day-trip to St. John--only a 20 min. ferry ride away. Or perhaps visit the BVI's, also just a ferry ride away.
By day watch the shimmering sea and by night stargaze by the light of the moon. True Paradise!
We traveled to St. Thomas for a Thanksgiving getaway in 2011 and absolutely fell in love; not only with the island of St. Thomas but with the Peterborg Estate area as well. Peterborg is on a beautiful, quiet peninsula surrounded on one side by Magen’s Bay and on the other side by the ocean with stunning island views, yet it provides easy access to the other attractions and dining options on the island. We loved it so much that we purchased the Crosswinds property in 2012 so that we could continue to enjoy it for years to come. We love to travel, and uniqueness and comfort are important to us. Crosswinds has both. From the tranquil landscaped gardens to the sunny cliff-side pool and deck (complete with its own palm trees, which make for a perfect shady spot for reading, napping, or sipping on cocktails) to the air-conditioned master king bedroom that overlooks the soothing waves breaking in the cove below, Crosswinds has everything you need to relax, unwind and enjoy. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do.
Deanne Torpy purchased this villa in 2012
We had the most amazing time! Thanks, Joe and Dee, for extending your home to use on our honeymoon. We could not have imagined a more beautiful home on vacation. Matt saw 2 stingrays and huge schools of fish, 3 giant groupers and a shark! I was enjoying my book during the shark experience. :). The beaches were beautiful. There was great snorkeling at Maho and Drunk Bays on St. John. Magen's was great, too.
Most of the time we just enjoyed the house and views and watching the lightening storms from the balcony of the house.
Thanks so much!
The title for property is 100% correct. Waking up and seeing the sunrise and the same day watching the sunset was amazing!! Honestly we could have just stayed at house our whole trip and it would have been wonderful.
Deanne was wonderful. She responded very timely to all of my emails. She left a great list of her favorite beaches & restaurants. We also got to meet her property manager and she was just as nice.
Overall this was a wonderful place to stay. We went on vacation for the first time in 10 yrs without our kids and I am so happy we stayed here. I was a little worried about the al fresco shower but it was pretty cool showering outside and being able to see the ocean & hear the ocean. Waking up and drinking coffee on the deck and looking over the ocean was breath taking.
The house had pretty much everything we needed. Can't wait to come back!!
It is true that this view cannot be matched! I loved looking out all of the windows from the master and the living areas. The ocean view from the al fresco shower was also an unexpected treat. The sun came up early at 5:45 each morning leaving plenty of time to enjoy the sunrise on the deck. The shaded area by the pool was very nice for hanging out.
We enjoyed the remodeling on the kitchen and we found everything we needed to cook and serve several meals.
Our kids planned to hike but we found that all of the activity up and down the stairs through the gardens and then up and down to platform beach was enough for us and so beautiful. The stairs would present a difficulty for someone with decreased strength or balance while for an active family- it was an adventure.
For our family, all of the private spaces worked out well. We went with our two grown children and their significant others. Everyone could have their own space while there were plenty of common areas to get together.
We will definitely remember our time on St. Thomas at Crosswinds with great memories.
A very nice house in a remarkable setting. A very comfortable and informal living space with lots of light and great views. Kitchen nicely equipped. Plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy the ocean views. Really nice patio/pool area. Three comfortable bedrooms in three different areas of the house, so lots of privacy for sleeping. The sound of the ocean from all three bedrooms. Excellent locataton a very short drive from Magen's Beach. We were very pleased with the house, and we hope to come back.
Two items to flag. There are lots of steps down from the private parking area to the house. That was certainly fine with all of us, but it might be a problem for someone with mobility impairments. And the house faces north-northeast, and therefore the patio gets a lot of wind from the prevailing winter winds; there is a wooden screen to block out some wind, but it stays pretty breezy. But lovely!
Extremely helpful owner who gave lots of tips and answered all questions. Very trustworthy, very friendly. We hope to be back.
I stayed at Crosswinds in August and loved it. The views from the pool, decks and the bedrooms are stunning. Each time we walked into the house, we were blown away by the view. The house is very private. And the yard is full of tropical flowers and plants. One of my favorite things was the outdoor shower - each morning I would shower and enjoy the view watching the waves crash on Peterborg point. We spent most of our time on deck by the pool (the palm growing in the deck is awesome) but enjoyed the upper decks for coffee and meals. Peterborg is a great place to stay on St Thomas. Many high end homes, but relatively quiet yet close to Magen's Bay and only 15 minute drive to Red Hook and Charlotte Amalie. Walks in the morning and evening in the neighborhood are great - so many nice views. Owners were easy to work with and provided many great suggestions on places to go and restaurants they like.
My new husband and I went to Crosswinds in October for our honeymoon. Not only did it exceed our expectations, but we hope to go back again soon. The views are exceptional and the house itself was spectacular. The view waking up overlooking the ocean and distant island was better than we could have imagined. The house was clean and perfect for the 2 of us... we'd like to go back soon with family as it would easily accommodate more. Thanks, Crosswinds Oceanside Villa, for an amazing honeymoon!
This place was incredible. We stayed here after a longer stay in the BVIs and it was by far the best part of our stay in St Thomas. It is quite well kept and could not possibly be more private. We had an amazing time hanging by the private pool (w/ great sound system, a nice surprise) on the nice days and spent the T-Storms relaxing in the Master room watching DVDs they had on-site...great view overlooking the water and a ton or private deck space. Gena was wonderful - quick and responsive if anything was needed. Would stay again and bring friends next time!
