Overview

About the property

2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom plus loft sleeping area, sleeps 6

Beautifully restored 2 bedroom (plus attic loft) home brings contemporary living to this hidden gem just 2 hours from NYC. We gutted the house completely incorporating modern amenities like a brand new stainless steel kitchen with granite countertops, hardwood bamboo flooring and a large deck to enjoy the view of the pond just steps away. Relax in the living room watching the fire or the 3D flat panel TV or just looking out the picture window to see the fish jumping in the pond right outside the large picture window. Shmooze in the kitchen or at the dining room table just steps from the sliding doors taking you out on the recently built deck to dine al fresco. Walk down the dock just steps from the house to swim in the refreshing pond or use our kayak for a leisurely paddle. Our home is a great place for all seasons; watch the leaves change in fall, the flowers bloom in spring, close to skiiing in winter and lots of water fun in the summer. Not to mention the close proximity to the Berkshires and all it has to offer. 2 hours from NYC makes this an easy drive just to get away after a hard week at work. The house is located directly on Robinson Pond; a 100 acre pond allowing electric motor boats, kayaks, canoes, swimming and fishing. The house is 30 miles from Tanglewood, close to Jacob's Pillow, a short drive to Bash Bish Falls. This location is ideally situated close to NY as well as to the Berkshires plus hiking, skiing and swimming. Close to Catamount and Butternut ski areas..

Great place to relax for a winter weekend

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable place with serene views of the lake. We were a group of two couples who stayed on a winter weekend when the lake was totally frozen over. Enjoyed using the BBQ, firepit, and appreciated the peace and quiet.

Relaxing lake house

  • 4 of 5

The setting of the cottage was perfect for relaxation. The view of the lake from the decks wonderful - the cottage has been recently updated and was perfect for a group of friends.

Nice Location, not so nice overall condition of the house

  • 2 of 5

The location is really nice on the pond, even though there have been some pretty loud cleaning boats (sometimes only one) on the pond almost daily when we have been there. The outside area was very comfortable, as was the kitchen and the dining area. Unfortunately the master bedroom wasn't usable at all, because it smelled terrible and the matress was completely run down. The sink in the bathroom was clocked and the table outside hadn't been cleaned for a long time (caretaker was there 2 hours before our arrival), same with the lounge chairs for the patio. We got also false information about the useability of our electronic trolling motor. I would like to give it 3 stars, but the unwillingness of the owners to give a small, partial refund for these things (and quite a few others) didn't give us any choice.

Beautiful and Serene

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place for us and our two young kids to stay. At this point in my life, I am not feeling like camping, but I do love being out in nature. This house had all the amenities, but was in a beautiful natural setting. We loved going to the private beach every day and making fires every night.
