Ocean view condo, walking distance to Costa Azul, Zippers, La Roca, Old Mans

This condo sleeps six. It is across the road from the beach in a small 11 unit condo development called Mar Y Sol. Our unit is a very private two story end unit, 1,400 sq ft with a big 600 sq ft veranda that wraps around the unit. We look out over the top of Mykonos and La Jolla condos for our incredible views of Punta Gorda, Punta Palmilla and the gorgeous Costa Azul. You can walk to Zippers restaurant and surf shop as well as many other great places to eat. If you live to surf, this is the place for you! Walk to the waves to surf at Zippers, the middles, old man and la roca , to name a few. Then at the end of your day, throw a steak on the gas grill, grab a beer and enjoy the incredible view at the condo.

For those more into relaxation, enjoy walks on the beach, read a book on the veranda or maybe learn how to surf! There is something for everyone to enjoy.

Amenities at the condo:

-END UNIT CONDO with two levels, very private- our building only has two units.

-Two bedroom-both on upstairs level- one bedroom has a king bed and the second bedroom has two twin beds and a bunk bed with two twin beds.

-Two and half bathrooms

-upstairs, the master bath has shower with hand wand, toilet and sink

-hallway guest bath has shower with hand wand, toilet and sink

-main floor has a half bath with a toilet and a sink

-Fully stocked kitchen

-Wifi interent

-Community Pool and hot tub area at Mar Y Sol condos- Please note we are not a big beachside resort with an huge pool area and lots of lounge chairs and umbrellas. There are a couple of lounge chairs by the pool as you can see in the listing photos. You could also take the condo beach chairs down to the pool if you wish.

This condo is a two level condo, with living room, kitchen, laundry room and half bath on main level, a full set of stairs to upper level with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

There are also stairs to get to the pool area which is accessed through a security gate. There are a few stairs from the upper level parking area to the front door of the condo. There is also a lower level parking area which has a full flight of stairs to access the condo. There are security doors for each parking area.

We like to let potential renters know there are stairs in case they would prefer to rent a condo without stairs. We have had many older clients who have stayed here and had no problem with the stairs.

The Mar Y Sol condo complex is next to a main road in the Baja. It can get noisy at busy traffic times, but other times it is not bad. I can still hear the waves crashing when I sit on the patio, so in my opinion the noise is not that bad. When you are in the condo with windows and doors shut even at busy traffic times it is quiet inside the condo. Quiet enough that my young children can take naps every afternoon.

If you are looking for a sunny warm winter escape for a few months or just a week long get away to surf, this is the condo for you. I'm sure you will have fun!

We are pet friendly. One dog per rental.

Late check in fee of $100.00 for any check in after 8:00 pm. No check in allowed after 10:00 pm. Sorry, we are not a hotel with 24 hour front desk staff. This is the fee my property manager charges for a late check in.

Location and view!!! This condo is walking distance to the best surfing , Costa Azul with surf breaks, La Roca, Zippers, Old Mans and La Bocana to name a few. It is easy walking distance to Zippers surf shop/restaurant and many other restaurants. San Jose Del Cabo is the best of both worlds. Easy access to surfing and snorkeling, but also a short drive to Cabo San Lucas with all the shopping and nightlife or old town San Jose with cultural events and art/wine walk and other great shopping.

What makes this condo unique

THE VIEW and location at Costa Azul!!! Across the street from the beach plus the view, size and privacy of the veranda where the key factors in my decision to buy this condo. Also, this unit is in a building of only two units, both are end units, so as far as condos go, it is as private as you can get. We like that our development has a pool and hot tub, but as they are a one minute walk from our unit, we can enjoy them, but don't have to hear or see other owners/guests enjoying the pool area while in our condo or on the veranda.

If you don't like road noise, this isn't the place for you

I give the weather 5 stars. Sunny everyday all day - Not too hot, and no humidity. San Jose del Cabo was the perfect location, you really can't beat the weather.

Location = 3 stars. If you want 5 stars, you have to pay the extra $$ and be on the beach side just to get away from the traffic noise (not to mention the karaoke coming from the Krystal Grand 2 to 3 nights a week).

The unit itself was nice (4 stars) and close to everything, but the road noise is constant and a bit much for a 5 week stay.

A car would be an asset so you can travel the coastline(s) They are worth the drive. We used Avis just down the street - Carlos was great.

Owner's Response: I am happy she gave the condo itself four stars. Yes, there is road noise which is worse some times of day when traffic is busy. This is reflected in the price you pay for the incredible view, large 2/bed 21/2 bath unit and big patio area. Our location is wonderful and this is why very expensive resort hotels like the Krystal Grand were built across the road from our condo complex. I think how much the road noise effects a renter is variable. We stay at the condo with our two young children who nap every afternoon. We can hear the waves breaking in the evening as we sit out on our patio. So, for us the road noise is not a problem.

Road too noisy - one lounge chair at pool- uninviting

Upon arrival we were greeted very kindly by the manager who is very nice the parking was extremely steep difficult and sometimes could not get a spot ... The view is fabulous if you could stand the road noise- On arriving in our upstairs bedroom with the four adults that were in our group the beds were not made has no toilet paper no paper towels and no beach towels - Went to the pool no where to sit one lounge chair? Floor leaked- couldn’t find the source while washing the towels in washer- cleaned it up and spent the last four nights at a different location . It’s a nice place if you don’t want to hang around there all the time and it’s got a beautiful view would’ve been nice to have a water cooler filled we were Thursday and it was really difficult have to go straight to the store to get all the stuff we thought would be there

Owner's Response: A lot of guests love this condo as is reflected on our many five star reviews. This guest asked my manager, after this guest looked at our pool area, if she could use the pool at a very large beach side condo community across the road. That complex's condos rent for over double per night in comparison to ours. It is true that at busy traffic times the road can be noisy. But, at other times it is not bad. The view by far makes up for the road noise in most of our guests opinion. Our nightly rate takes into consideration that we are by a busy road. There are two parking areas, the lower lot closer to the road and the upper lot. We have never had a problem finding a parking place. My manager said the beds were made and restocking was done prior to this guests arrival. The guest checked in at the condo with the manager at 3:00 p.m, seemed happy., then waited until 10:30 p.m. to send my manager a message suggesting the guest receive a refund. This guest never mentioned until posting her review that the water cooler was not filled? New beach towels were purchased as soon as this guest notified my manager that the towels were missing. My manager said the washing machine overflowed onto the floor because this guest overloaded the washing machine. I refunded this guests cleaning fee in an effort to appease her. This is our little piece of paradise and we love sharing it with others. But, it is impossible to make everybody happy everyday. We did all we could to please her, but nothing seemed to make her happy. I think our small 11 unit condo complex was not what she wanted for her vacation.

Just like home

We really enjoyed our stay at Mary Sol. It felt like home. Very nice view from the balcony and close to the beach. I would definitely recommend this place to our friends. We hope we can come back soon to Los Cabos and spend another week here.

Basic

Our belief is that 3 stars is good (did what is was supposed to do), 4 is great (did what it's supposed to do and added a few little extras) and 5 is excellent (all the above and those things you don't expect that make the stay that much better)

Pros:

-Good central location

-Air conditioning in each room and the main living area

-BBQing on the patio

-Nice sunrises to see at the condo

Cons:

-Parking is challenging whether you park on the front hill (steep) or drive up to the upper parking lot and walk the stairs or through the neighbors porch area

-Noise from the highway is constant and the neighbors dog barking can be challenging

-The condo is in need of good cleaning all around (not necessarily dirty just a good deep clean is needed)

-Decluttering and organization would help in the cupboards and closets

-The showers need a deep clean, they are a little funky (we used flip flops as shower shoes)

-The linens (towels and bedding) are well used and in need of replacement

Additional:

-The stairs were good for us, as we liked the added exercise, there are a lot of them

-The pool is nice, the hot tub is the same temperature as the pool (cool)

-The pool area only had two lounge chairs and no shaded areas

-The beach is a long walk either to the underpasses or by crossing the busy highway

-We bought paper goods at the store (there were no paper towels and limited toilet paper and Kleenex)

Overall the condo is a good price, the owners and management team were easy to work with and our stay was good. Thanks

Owner's Response: This condo is not for everybody, but we feel it deserves better than a Basic, three star review. It is not a brand new development with a resort style pool on the beach which would cost three times as much as we charge per night. (Krystal Grand Los Cabos Resort, which is directly across the road from our condo.) Our condo is priced accordingly for the amenities we offer. To respond to some of this renters comments- -There are seven stairs from the upper parking area to the condo. The parking is not challenging. We always park in the upper lot. -The spa is heated. You turn the jets on and the spa is hot within five minutes. The spa circulation pump is also the spa heat pump. -We can walk to the beach in five minutes. I would not call this a long walk. -The noise from the road is worse at rush hour times on weekdays as is any area with traffic. -Our neighbors dog does not bark all the time. Their dog barks when people walk in front of their condo, that is it. -The condo was deep cleaned right after these renters stayed there. -Decluttering was done in all the closets and cabinets. -Our family has never used flip flops in our showers in our five years of ownership. The shower floors are not brand new tile, but they are clean and fine to use. -New sheets were purchased for all the beds on March 26. Also, a new dining room table was purchased.
