Guestbook comments from the owner

It was wonderful to come back to a cool, quiet apartment each evening, put up our feet and relax. We loved the kitchen and all the cookware. We enjoyed many meals in the apartment, as well as out. The shower was good, loved the washer/dryer combo. The living area was comfy. Loved the free calling to land lines. The bedroom was roomy but had trouble locking the door. We will recommend this apartment to friends and family. Great location! Thanks for the enjoyable stay.

Live Like a Local in the Center of Paris

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Gunnar's place was so great! We would stay there again.

First, the location is amazing. Very close to Les Halles metro and almost right next to Louvre and the Grand Palais. So much within walking distance! The neighborhood felt very safe and was quiet. I walked home at 10pm without any worry. There are cafes, bakeries, a Franprix grocery, all right around the corner. There's a large Monoprix grocery store at Les Halles.

One night we walked into the courtyard and the neighbors were we signing along to a piano during a dinner party (the windows were open). We felt like we were living in a romantic comedy. Where's Juliet Binoche?! Haha. It really is a lovely building in a great location.

The bathroom is more spacious than most and we never had a lack of hot water. Great shower! We loved having a washer/dryer, which allowed us to travel very lightly. We also loved that there were two separate sleeping areas. There's a full kitchen, which we didn't really use, but it was nice to have the option.

Connie is so very helpful and had everything ready for us when we arrived. She even arranged our transportation to the airport at 5am and everything was flawless.

We did notice a tiny mouse in the kitchen, which I think is a typical problem in some of these older buildings, because the apartment was very clean and well-kept. We just named him Ratatouille and hoped he'd whip us up some dessert! ;O

Delightful Parisian apartment

  • 5 of 5

My husband I and stayed in this lovely apartment for a week. The location is fabulous! It's a short walk to the Louvre and several Metro stops. There are 2 grocery stores within 2 blocks. The street has several restaurants and there are others withing easy walking distance. The famous boulangerie/patisserie is next door. They have the BEST coffee I had in 2 weeks in France. It's a very popular spot. We had a delicious lunch there on our first day.

The washing machine was a big plus for us; we were able to do laundry before heading to Normandy for our second week in France. There are 2 drying racks that worked very well. I'm not a fan of European dryers... The bathroom is compact, but complete. The water is HOT immediately, so be careful! The kitchen had every utensil imaginable. We only ate breakfast in, so didn't get to try all the equipment. The apartment is furnished with soap, and laundry and dish detergent, which is a big plus. It was also very clean.

It was very hot when we arrived in Paris on April 19th- 81! We had the windows open, which was lovely, but we did have some noise at night. There is a nice fan in the BR closet, which was perfect for cooling us off when we had to close the windows. The closet is very large with plenty of hangars and the drawers are very useful.

There are plenty of guide books and maps in the LR to help you plot your travels. Connie and Gunnar were so helpful answering my many questions. Our arrival and departure was very easy.

This is a charming, well-equipped apartment in a fabulous location near many of the most popular tourist sites. We walked everywhere, clocking 12 miles one day. I recommend it highly!

Perfect Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Perfect Location near Louve, Chalet Les Halles & Monmarte.... The corner is on Rue do Louvre which makes this very convienient to get to... Apartment had everything you needed. 2 bedrooms. The upper bedroom bed was softer than the he 1st level as we found the 1st level bed to be too hard for us.... Perfect kitchen and overall perfect. We will def stay here again on our return to Paris

Charming appartment in a fun neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

This well appointed and perfectly located apartment is perfect for a "live like a Parisian" vacation. Good for a couple, with an extra sleeping space for a 3rd person. The kitchen is small, but has everything you need for making coffee, preparing a simple breakfast, or even a more complicated meal. There are stairs within the apartment and the 3rd person sleeping area is up a ladder. The bathroom is modern and well appointed with a nice shower and a washing machine. The lady who met us to show us around the place and give us the keys, Connie, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area and getting around Paris. There is a fantastic bakery downstairs from the apartment and also several great restaurants. It is close to a metro/RER station so it was very convenient to get around Paris easily. A great choice in a fun part of a fantastic city!

Character filled apartment with a great location

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is very cozy and very french. You get a sense of really living in the heart of Paris. The apartment is also in a great location. We arrived at Charles De Gaulle airport and caught the train (RER) directly to Chatelet Les Halles. The apartment was a five to ten minute walk from there. During our stay we visited Fontainbleau and Versailles which were both easy to reach from the apartment and its location close to the RER and Metro at Chatelet Les Halles.

The street is filled with bistros and restaurants some of which we tried and were great. There is a boulangerie a few doors away which had fabulous bread and pastries. A supermarket is located just a short two blocks away so everything was very handy. Chatelet Les Halles is also located in a very large shopping complex where you could find anything you wanted. The kitchen is really well equipped so we were able to cook a little.

On the walk from the station to the apartment you pass Saint Eustache church. Take the time to go in as there is a beautiful organ which is played for some (perhaps all) of the masses. There are also organ recitals held there.

Even before we arrived, Connie assisted us with some of the logistics of our trip. Connie could not have been more helpful and did everything she could to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. Thank you, Connie, for a wonderful time in Paris. It couldn't have been better.

Very comfortable apartment, everything we needed!

  • 4 of 5

It is a lovely apartment with many antiques and interesting artwork. My daughter and I had a wonderful time in Paris and came home to relax each night. Loved the deep tub - great for a very hot bath after walking for miles. It was so quiet and peaceful with no windows facing the street - just a courtyard. Slept very well. My daughter stayed in the little loft. Spacious, plenty of room for us. Easy to access from the street. Keys and locks worked perfectly. We were so happy the little bakery was open to get our bread and croissants each day and a dessert on the way home. Nice supply of travel related books for reference. Great wifi connection. The kitchen is equipped with anything and everything you will need. Comfy seating in living room. Master bedroom large and private with lots of closet space and hangers! Bed was comfortable for me. Very firm, nice pillows. Quiet on the opppsite end of the apartment from the loft. Not too many stairs. 3 flights. Cute neighborhood. 10 minute walk to Metro st Les Halles. And the Forum Des Halle's mall with many shops. I took the RER B train right from Charles de Gaulle airport to Les Halles Station in about 30 minutes. $10.70 Euros. Thank you Connie for your help meeting my daughter to check in. There is an ATM right around the corner and many cafes and shops nearby. We Walked to the Louvre, along the Seine and across the bridge to Notre Dame many times. There was a little restaurant right next door les Louis at 31 rue Coquilliere - the best food and atmosphere of our whole trip. Make a reservation for Friday night. The duck was amazing. There was a piano player who sang. It was a small, cozy atmosphere with very friendly, sweet server. Everyone was enjoying the food and happy atmosphere. Overall it was s great choice for us to stay here and I highly recommend it. Clean, quiet, lovely apartment. Enjoy!
