Guestbook comments from the owner

We were six days in Brooklyn. The area near the house is very much alive and vibrant. The connections to public transportation (subway and bus) are good.

The apartment is very nice. We were good in 4, although the two boys slept on the couch for not taking up too much space in the living room with two beds.

The kitchen is well equipped and we used it willingly. The garden outside is nice and it's nice to make us breakfast! Upon our arrival we found the fridge with everything needed for a hearty breakfast and more !! we appreciated, also because we arrived late at night. Mrs. Carella is very nice.

I highly recommend you to stay for a visit to NYC. I think that staying in Brooklyn to visit the city is better than staying in Manhattan.

great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

The property was very nice, clean, and very close to the subway station at prospect park, probably 30 mins or so from mid town. Owners were very helpful and helped us arrange transportation to LGA on the way out.

Our stay at the apartment was outstanding because of Fraulein's attention to details. The apartment was clean, fresh linens, toiletries available if needed, and a comfortable bed and living room furniture. A lovely patio with seating included a sweet cat that strolled through. The best treat were the food items for us to have snacks and breakfast during our stay. We walked to the Botanical Garden and Brooklyn Museum and used the subway to get into town. This apartment is exactly what we were looking for and we hope to return soon.

Second stay as great as the first!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is so comfortable and convenient we booked a second stay! We arrived early in the afternoon and had no problem checking in. As before the refrigerator was well stocked, even with a welcoming beer that we thoroughly enjoyed before connecting with our daughter who lives just a mile away. The walk to her place was appreciated after traveling. Fraulein was gracious enough to let us stay between expected travelers as we were in town to see the daughter in a play. We didn't have time to enjoy the patio since our stay was taken up with the play and visiting grandchildren.

Fraulein made a point of visiting with us. We feel like we know her and will be back to stay in the future! We even left a few beers for the next family.

Beautiful brownstone lived up to our expectations!

  • 5 of 5

Although we didn't meet our hostess until Monday, we felt welcomed, especially when we found bagels and a stocked refrigerator. We were visiting grandchildren and when they came to see us they loved the back yard and the two cats who let the children pet them. What a treat to find ourselves in the middle of the neighborhood trick or treating. We have to do this again. The apartment is so well decorated we felt in the midst of near Victorian life. Thank you Fraulein, our stay was exceptional. We will recommend to other family members when they come to Brooklyn. We were not disappointed in any way.

Great stay, great hosts. Will stay again!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was clean, well supplied [linens & groceries], and quiet. We especially enjoyed the back patio in the mornings. Our son lives nearby so the location was great - close to him, subways and Prospect Park. We flew so we didn't have to worry about the parking situation which can be frustrating. The bed and other furniture was very comfortable. This was our third stay [with VRBO/HomeAway] in the area and was the best we've stayed at! We plan on staying again next year.

Fantastic apartment in an interesting area. Lots of places to eat and the subway walking distance. Convenient to the city and quiet. The unit is beautiful and Fraulein Carella was a perfect host. Highly recommended.
