Great Location for visiting Glacier National Park

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Teakettle Ranch. The view from the deck was outstanding. Having the propane fire pit on the deck was nice, as under the dry conditions we wanted to stay away for making a fire in the fire pit in the back yard, The cabin is comfortable, well maintained, and well furnished. A short easy drive from the cabin to the West Glacier entrance was nice convience. Ty was was very flexible and accommodating when it was decided to extend our stay by a day.

Exceeded our expectations!

  • 5 of 5

Teakettle Ranch cabin was the perfect place to relax at the end of a busy day. So close and convenient to Glacier National Park and the surrounding area. The cabin was charming, spacious, private, peaceful and very comfortable. I didn't know being 'off grid' could be so comfortable, no inconvenience at all. We spent all our evenings on the back deck watching the sun set and roasting marshmallows.

Enjoyed meeting our host, Ty and he kindly made recommendations for the area. He even pointed out the cabin was surrounded with huckleberries which we enjoyed picking to add to our morning pancakes.

I would happily recommend this cabin to all my friends. A great Montana experience!

Unique, secluded getaway with a view

  • 4 of 5

Ty's place is an interesting deer camp-style cabin. Check-in and check-out was very simple and easy. The view from the deck is beautiful, and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need. We were able to meet the host when he came to work on his shop and he is a very likeable guy.

Perfect Glacier National Park house

  • 5 of 5

Great location away from the hustle and bustle of the park but still very close so it's easy to access the park when exploring. The views were spectacular and the house felt like a private lodge.

Location...Location...Location.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 5 nights, the last week of June 2017. We only had one problem during our stay, which was a major one...We didn't stay long enough!!! Our advice would be: how ever long you are planning to stay, double it.

The location is perfect. You are 20min from Glacier park entrance (Apgar) and from Columbia Falls (town with everything you need). You are also really close to the Polebridge park entrance (the least frequented part of Glacier) and the Flathead Nat. Forest with the North and Middle Fork Flathead River. And as close as you are to all of this, you wont see a soul at Ty's home.

The home has everything you will ever want and need. And the home may be off the grid, but you will never know you are. As long as you don't bring your city slicker A/C with you, you will never run out electricity. You have all the hot water you want too. The stove, fridge, bedroom fireplace, outdoor grill, and outdoor firepit are all propane. There is also a traditional firepit outside off the deck too. Be careful when using open flame outside! There wasn't any fire restrictions during our stay, but you should inquire with Ty, so you know what to expect. Even if there was a restriction, it would be a minor detail and shouldn't alter plans of staying at this home.

Don't miss the opportunity to stay at Ty's Teakettle Mountain Ranch. He is one of the very few who opens up their "Montana's best kept secret" to the outside world.

Thanks Ty!

Very peaceful and quiet.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed being able to come back to a quiet house after a long day of hiking. About a 20 minute drive on a gravel dirt road to the west entrance of the GNP. Off the grid was okay just took a little getting use to. A coffee maker or stove top coffee pot would of been nice. The grill and outdoor fire pit was great. There was a screen on the sliding door but no way to open windows, we had nice weather 70's but it did warm up in the living room with the sun through the big windows. Overall we were happy.
