Guestbook comments from the manager

To Frank - Grazie mile - Tom, Patricia and the kids- all 7 of us enjoyed a delightful stay. The views are dramatic, the breeze is fresh, and the nights sparkle with stars. There is a quiet elegance to the Villa. Magically within a day, it became home. With Assisi but 3 miles away as well as the restaurants in Spello equally close, it was a memorable family adventure. Thank you for sharing your Villa.

Wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5

Villa Margherita is a little paradise in the hillside between Assisi and Spello!

The villa has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. We spent 11 nights with our two daughters aged 7 and 9, including one week with their grandmother visiting. The location is perfect for a private vacation, but still close to all the attractions in Umbria. Assisi is just a 10 minute drive away, supermarkets a little closer and Perugia just a little longer. The kitchen is fitted with high end equipment, and you also have an outside grill and pizza oven for cooking.

When you are tired of preparing your own meal, it is a short drive to Assisi, or you could book a table and walk to the Malvarian restaurant for a wonderful experience.

We spent the a lot of time by the wonderful pool and outside seating areas,.

This place is highly recommended!

Well maintained & Beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay for 10"days at this well maintained holiday home which was just nice for our family. It is away from it all and would definitely require a car. Ideal for exploring Assisi and it's surrounding countryside. Locals are very friendly and helpful. The pool is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Good access to local walks and restaurants which are all a short drive away. Veronica the caretaker visited at regular intervals for the garden maintenance and was always happy to suggest local shopping and sightseeing places. There is good wifi access and has all the amenities for a comfortable holiday stay.

Beautiful, peaceful villa

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at this villa three times. It is a very comfortable, beautiful property with a lovely pool. All the appliances and fittings are high quality and work perfectly. The location is very peaceful and the view from the property is very scenic. It's just a few minutes drive to Asissi, Spello, and other nearby towns. Both the owner and property manage are helpful, kind people who do their best to help us with anything we need, including directions to the nearest big grocery store, finding us a babysitter for our kids, cooking classes, restaurant recommendations, etc.

Beautiful Villa With a Beautiful Vista In Umbria

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 weeks with our parents (in-law) visiting Umbria Region. The villa is located in a beautiful setting overlooking the Umbria valley. The Villa is exactly as described in the brochure (immaculate, gate-entry, pool, etc...).

Prior to our arrival, we had contacted Jessica (concierge person in Italy) and she arranged local travel itinerary, food for the Villa, and a local map upon our arrival.

We spent the first night dining out near St Fransis of Assisi (10-mins away) overlooking the Umbria Valley. For the remainder of 10-day trip, we explored Cortona(movie Under the Tuscan Sun), Norcia, Florence, Orvietto, Spello and other nearby towns. Overall, the Villa is in a terrific location.

As frequent independent travelers, we would highly recommend this Villa to any traveler who 's looking for a outstanding vacation.

This place is absolutely beautiful, it is very secluded yet very close to many amazing medieval towns in the area. But, what made this place more special is Jessica. She made everything as easy as possible for us, from restaurant recommendations to where to go food shopping, places to visit etc. Jessica was the biggest help when our son needed medical treatment due to fever. We did not know our way around and did not speak Italian. Not only she took us to emergency, she spent half her Sunday with us at the hospital, communicating

with medical staff. People are like Jessica are very rare and I only wish we lived close by so we could be friends.

We will always remember our time in Umbria with fondest memories.

Perfect Location for Visiting Assisi and Umbria

  • 5 of 5

Perfect Location for Visiting Assisi and Umbria

On the slope of Mt Subasio with spectacular views of the Umbrian valley this villa is the perfect location for touring Assisi and the nearby Umbrian hill towns. 5 of us stayed, 2 couples in the 2 upstairs bedrooms and another adult on the pullout worked perfectly. The villa is recently renovated and very very clean with modern bathrooms and full kitchen. For us the highlight was the outside terrace and wood burning grills where we grilled out everything from sausages to pizza and enjoyed the evening sunset views along with a bottle (or 2) of vino. The villa is perfectly located in between the historic town of Assisi and the smaller but equally enchanting hill town of Spello only a few miles away. The owner was a pleasure to work with and the caretaker was there to greet us on arrival and point out everything and was very helpful throughout our stay. We stayed for 4 nights and it was awesome – don’t miss this stop, can’t wait to return and continue to explore the amazing country side in Umbria.

The house, which is completely private, is a heartbeat from the center of Assisi, known primarily as the birth place of Saints Francis and Saint Claire. Assisi is also known for its Medieval castles, beautiful Basilicas and Churches, works of art including being the birthplace of the renaissance with works by Cimabue, Giotto and many others and also for its rich culture and many festivals. There are countless shops, cafés, and restaurants that boast the local Umbrian cuisine comprised of basic ingredients: olive oil, among the best in Italy, wild boar, lamb, hard wheat pasta of the finest quality and the precious black summer truffles.
