Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 queens, 2 twin size beds,1 full bathroom, sleeps 7

'Deerfield Park Angler's Hideaway' is a beautiful Black Hills paradise that offers a peaceful setting with a feel of seclusion, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Listen for the turkeys gobbling, the bull elk bugling, and the coyotes howling. Watch as the Bald Eagle swoops down and pulls a fish out of the lake. You can't help but feel like a part of nature.. Located in the 'Heart of the Hills,' it's close to most of the main attractions. This is a rare opportunity to rent a condo on one of Black Hill's finest fishing lakes, literally 50 yards off our rear deck. 'Catch and Release' is greatly appreciated. We want to preserve this great fishing opportunity. Don't fish? Then step out back and let the panoramic view take your breath away. You will be amazed! This property is located just 11 miles from Hill City. You will travel on 9 miles of Highway and two miles of very well maintained gravel road. Enjoy hiking, biking, ATVing, Snowmobiling or skiing! They are all close by.

Come stay with us and enjoy your adventure. You will be back!!

Peaceful Place

Very nice place. 3 couples stayed together to ATV the hills. Excellent place and location. Little lake with trout was a nice bonus.

Family fun

  • 5 of 5

We had a great first family vacation with our 3 kids ages 14, 13, and 12, and Diane was nice enough to promptly call me when the tv wouldn't work, and was very helpful with directions and instructions. Here's a quick summary:

PROS: clean, great water pressure and hot water, nicely decorated, well stocked, comfortable, affordable, very nice and helpful owner, safe and secure, away from the road, great catch and release fishing for kids

CONS: very creaky beds, domed top shower that taller people don't fit under well without stooping and spraying water on the floor over the top of the shower curtain, picnic table by the lake in desperate need of repair, sidewalk made out of natural rocks that are uneven and a trip hazard -- it looks pretty, but husband sprained his ankle unloading the car and 1 kid tripped and fell.

Family time

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time fishing and hanging together as a family before our daughter goes to college. We loved Hill City and Mt. Rushmore. Beautiful and peaceful scenery.

Clean, Quiet, Perfect Setting

  • 5 of 5

This is a PERFECT setting for quiet evenings and mornings away from the usual tourist traffic. Yes, it is a bit off the usual beaten path, but it is close enough to Hill City and you will appreciate the quietness and privacy it offers. Plus I caught my personal best trout out of the lake!

Perfect place to relax with family!!!

  • 5 of 5

I was very pleasantly surprised by this home! We loved everything about it, from the gorgeous view right out the window, the lake access within steps of back deck, the many comfortable beds, and the very well stocked kitchen! We are two adults and our five sons ages 5-11... We had plenty of space, grilled dinners on back patio overlooking lake. Sat and sipped coffee while our five boys fished. Fishing for trout and crawdads was plentiful! Paddle boat was so much fun! Loved the gated community entrance! Would recommend to anyone wanting to get away from the the crowds or busy life! It does have wifi, but is 2 miles to the nearest paved road, the neighbors were super friendly. We were shocked how quiet it was at the lake, and we had the entire lake to ourselves fishing, paddle boating, etc for the entire length of our stay! Owners were very responsive to questions and helpful with nearby suggestions. Would love to go back again some day!

We are centrally located in the Black Hills just 11 miles outside of Hill City. We are close to most of the main attractions you would want to see from Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, 1880 Train and many, many more. Just pick up the maps and brochures of the area at any of the tourism locations and let the fun begin. The South Dakota Dept. of Tourism has a great website so you can do some pre-planning.

There are things to do and places to see from Evans Plunge and The Mammoth Site in Hot Springs in the Southern Hills to the Historic Sate Fish Hatchery in Spearfish in the Northern Hills with Historic Deadwood and The Homestake Gold Mine in between.

Try to take in the night ceremony at Mt. Rushmore if time permits, it is truely a memorable experience. There is also the Famous Buffalo Round-Up in Custer State Park in late September that seems to be a big hit as well.

Once back at the condo, get the kids out on the paddle boat. We also have a couple of fishing poles there for your use. 'Catch and Release is greatly appreciated. A South Dakota fishing license is required. A license can be purchased online at the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks website. All fishing regulations are available there as well.
