Thanksgiving Retreat

  • 4 of 5

The property is charming, is as advertised and Mark and Marie are wonderful owners to work with. Three weeks before Thanksgiving we learned the house we planned to stay in was not going to be repaired from earlier storm damage in time for Thanksgiving. We were very lucky to find anything available -- especially something as lovely as this property. The furniture is comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, the house is very kids friendly, the property is lovely and Mark and Marie are committed to making your stay perfect. The house is large enough with enough rooms that you never feel crowded. There is a large basement perfect for children. There are plenty of rooms for discrete groups to form and enjoy different activities. It would be even better in the Spring and Summer when you could enjoy the lovely porches, yard and lake activities. If we go back to Leicester, we would definitely rent the house again.

Perfect House!

  • 5 of 5

We truly loved our stay in this beautiful house! Our only complaint is we wished we had more time! We recently rented Mark and Maria's house for a wedding we were attending in Spencer MA. It was absolutely perfect! Enough space that 6 adults and a baby to get lost in. The house had everything we needed, we just had to show up! We loved it, and would love to return again for more rest and relaxation!

WE had a wonderful time at the house. Even though the lake was low we were still able to enjoy kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boating. The house was absolutely beautiful. It was a wonderful place for a family reunion. Would highly recommend staying there to anyone who is looking to vacation in that particular part of Massachusetts. Again absolutely beautiful.

Beautiful lake family vacation!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you, Mark and Maria for sharing your beautiful Lake Stiles home. The house was so spacious. Plenty big enough for my husband and I, my daughter and son-in-law and their baby, my son and daughter-in-law and their two young sons. There were so many places to go inside whether on the screened in porch, the outside deck with the amazing wrap around couch, the covered deck, the formal living room, the beautiful dining room table ... I could go on and on. One of the things that was so nice was no matter where you walked inside there was a view of the lake. The bedrooms were a very good size and the master had a view to die for. It was great waking up to that view every morning. There was so much to do right on the property we never left! We played basketball, Frisbee and many other outdoor sports. It was great that there were so many outdoor toys right on the premises. What was also nice with having 3 small children was the the beach so the kids could play in the sand and right at the waterfront. The highlight for the adults was the AMAZING fishing, paddleboat rides, kayaks, canoe and row boat rides. Having those all available make a huge difference!! Another favorite activity was our nightly campfires. The only thing that was a surprise but to no fault of the owners is the water level is very low right now. It did not stop us from doing anything but if you had a jet ski or motor boat it would be hard to use until the water level returns to normal. We made many wonderful memories all together as a family which was exactly what we wanted. Even our two dogs even had a blast! We hope to rent again in the future. Thank you again, Nancy

Owner's Response: Nancy, Thank you so much for a lovely review of our home. We're so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay at the lake. We really want our guests to feel this is their home away from home and try to provide as many amenities for our guests to enjoy. Although the water level was down as you mentioned, it was still good for swimming, fishing, using the kayaks and canoes. With luck from mother nature we hope to have the water level back for next spring. Hope to see you in the future. Maria and Mark
