We really enjoyed this stay. The owner was very responsive. What you see is what you get! No wifi, cellphones don't work well in the house. Didn't get the opportunity to use the pool of hot tub but they looked inviting =) Leftovers in fridge/freezer was kind of strange but we just pushed it to the back.

Highly recommend checking out Pedego Electric Bikes and renting Trikkes to explore the Greenway in Cleveland, TN.

We came in November, for the Thanksgiving week, to visit relatives that had moved to Benton earlier this year. Coming from Florida, and my wife being a native Tampa girl, had never seen the changing of the seasons. She says that no words can describe the beauty. The hangout is GREAT. Secluded enough to give a city person, the feeling of the country. The place is more than adaquately equipped with linens, towels, pots and pans and spices. We had used some of these items and just replaced what we used. We did not get use of the pool, but it is big. I figure if you want to come with a large group, the bunk house can comfortably sleep six up stairs and four down stairs. The big house will comfortably sleep five, especially if you don't need all that room. The bunk house has a ping-pong table, foose ball table, air hockey table and all sorts of board games, for kids or adults. The place is backed up to National Reserve, so the beauty around you is unbelievable. We will definitely come back in summer months and have our family come enjoy the pool and Bar-B-Ques. There is a real good section, of the house, with chain link fence for kids or dogs. The place was very clean and we had no problems with anything. Sandy was great, she provided so much information, about the house and surroundings. There are two wineries close by to visit, the mountains are all around you, so there is a lot to do, if you want to hit the trails. Would definitely suggest Rock City and Ruby Falls, if you want to make a little trip. Check them out on the internet, before you get there. There is no WiFi, and limited cell service, you are in the mountains. She does have DirecTV for the TV's. Would recommend this site to any one wanting to get away from the city.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your wonderful, descriptive review! I would also recommend a visit to the aquarium on your next visit they have two buildings. One for fresh water and one for salt water. When I take quest there,we usually tour one section then catch lunch at one of the many restaurants within walking distance, then tour the other. Never get tired of it! You were great guest. The place was left very nice . Thanks for starting the towels for me! Looking forward to hosting you again this summer! Sandi

We enjoyed our stay at the hangout. There was plenty of room for our church group of 7. Next year we hope to have more people with us. It was very close to the church we were visiting in Benton, Tn. Thanks again Sandi for accommodating us.

Awesome getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband, my son and our two dogs had a last minute trip in August to go tubing down the Hiwassee. It just so happened that the Hangout was opened and we were able to stay for 2 nights. Sandi was very accommodating for our last minute stay. The pool was AWESOME, first time we ever had a pool to ourselves. The yard was fenced in so you could let your dogs run around. There was also a hot tub out back off of the master bedroom which was very nice as well because we were able to sit in it when our son went to sleep and not have to worry. Definitely recommend, it was just us 3 and the house was large enough for many, many more. Also on the same road there is a hiking trail that takes you to a swimming hole. Very beautiful and highly recommend Gee Creek Falls. We will be back!

Me and my husband wanted a quick getaway for only a couple of days. We booked SUPER last minute (which I DO NOT recommend haha), but Sandi was SO GREAT at letting us stay in her house! Next time we are going to bring our family, and our dogs! (the yard is fenced in which is great for pets and small children). Everything was wonderful, but my favorite was the sky light above the bed in the upstairs bedroom. You could see SO MANY stars right before you went to sleep at night. I can't wait to go back! Thank you SO much Sandi!!!
