Excellent Stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful experience staying at this property. Nick and Laurence were very easy to work with, extremely responsive, provided great information about local restaurants, transportation and the neighborhood in general. Location was close to public transportation which made it easy to get around San Francisco. Property was clean, well maintained and just as described online. Many thanks to Nick and Laurence for a great stay. This location really exceeded our expectations.

Our Favorite Place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We’ve stayed with Laurence & Nick 3 times now and every time is exceptional! The house is located so close to the heart of Castro and makes it super easy to grab a bite, shop, go to a bar or just go for a walk and people watch. It’s also extremely close to the local transport with a bus stop right outside he house and the subway a very short walk away. Nick & Laurence are always extremely accommodating and have great recommendations if ever needed. The room is very private and the common patio area is very nice and enjoyable. We call it our San Francisco Home away from home. I recommend them to anyone visiting and we stay here every time we come if it’s available. The best hosts you’ll find! Thanks guys and see you soon!

Best selection for our first visit to San Francisco

  • 4 of 5

This is a realy nice property and located in a convenient location to use city transportation. It's clean and well kept and the little kitchen came in handy. Hpwever there was one little problem. On our 2nd night there was a lot of noise from upstairs. It lasted well past midnight but that was the only problem. Lawrence was an excellent host which also helped to make our visit very enjoyable.

Great hosts and a fantastic location for restaurants, shops, and easy access to the city centre.

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is in a great location for restaurants, shops, and easy access to the city centre. A short walk to Market and the commercial end of Castro Street will provide pretty much anything you might need on your vacation. In spite of being on a busy street, the traffic noise was not intrusive. The apartment is very well appointed, and cosy in the evenings; fires are provided if the temperature drops. Nick is a charming host and gave us lots of tips on where to go and what to do in SF. An extremely comprehensive house book backs up all that info, and more. A most useful inclusion was the complete channel listing for the cable TV.

If eating out, we particularly recommend Catch on Market for a superb fish dinner, and Flore on Noe and Market for a light lunch/supper. We tried to get into the highly recommended L’Ardoise French restaurant but, be warned, you must book days in advance! If eating in, the kitchenette is small but contains everything you need to prepare breakfast or a snack. For comestibles, the Harvest Ranch Market is a comprehensive local grocery store on Market.

If you feel like some physical exercise, Corona Heights is a steep but short distance away. Your efforts will be rewarded with almost complete isolation, and fabulous views over the city.

Charming garden studio in the Castro

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in early September and really enjoyed our time here. It was very comfortable, had a nice bed, and there was a small kitchenette for snacks and refrigerated items. It is very conveniently located to major attractions and a MUNI station. The hosts are very helpful and provided a lot of information on where to eat, sight-see and how to get around. I was worried about the temperature as most places in SF do not have AC, but they provided fans and that kept us very comfortable at night. I would definitely stay here on a future trip!

Great accomodation for a trip to San Francisco

  • 5 of 5

Located in the Castro district, this accomodation provides everything you need during your stay at San Francisco. The room itself is great and also is the neighborhood! There are a lot of restaurants and bars close to the accomodation. Public transport with historic F-Line, buses and Metro is only one block away.

The owners Nick ans Laurence make your stay as comfortable as possible. Check in and Check out worked quite well and both provide you with a lot of interesting information about things to do in the city.

We definetely would stay here again!

Car: not necessary

Located on a Magnolia tree lined residential street just north of San Francisco's famous Castro District. This quiet residential neighborhood is safe and walkable with nice restaurants and shops. And across Market Street is the historic Castro Street theater, restaurants, bars and shops. One block away is our weekly Farmer's Market (seasonal). Located within blocks of ALL San Francisco MUNI light rail lines and the historic F line which features historic street cars from around the world and is a fantastic way to travel to Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf and more. You won't need a car! See the map - look how many parks are located nearby. Hike? Play tennis? There are a number of tennis courts nearby - play tennis surrounded by redwoods and views of the Golden Gate and San Francisco Bay. Or walk a few blocks down 16th Street to Mission Dolores which is where San Francisco was founded. VIsit the historic wooden church which still holds services in German. Dine outside and enjoy the California sun.
