Visitors without cars will find a wide range of transportation options: all MUNI train lines are within a couple blocks, including the Historic F line which travels down Market Street to Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, farmer's markets, shopping, museums and more. For travelers wanting to visit Union Street, the Marina and Presidio MUNI bus service is available on the same block; the same bus runs through the Castro and Noe Valley in the other direction. Even traveling to and from the airport is just one train connection away. Rental cars are available from several ZipCar locations within a couple blocks. Cars are discouraged; save money and hassle by not having a car in San Francisco. The clean bedroom with private bath is located in a historic Queen Anne Victorian in the Duboce Triangle neighborhood with a wrought iron gate.

Laurence Chang purchased this studio in 2004
This building is located in the very heart of San Francisco, with access to great transportation all over the city and much to do within walking distance. The neighborhood is safe, pedestrian-friendly and public transportation options are abundant.
This Queen Anne Victorian is located on a street lined by old Magnolia trees. The Castro district, restaurants, shops, parks all surround this location.
My wife and I stayed in Laurence and Nick's studio for six nights. As others have said, it is located in a great neighborhood and it is so very convenient to public transportation. Taking the Bart and Muni from the airport was very easy and we took the subway and buses to every corner of the city. I had been to Alcatraz 40 years ago and when we went this trip, we were both impressed with what the National Park Service had done. We also really enjoyed the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park. There is some street noise as expected in the city, but we have a travel sound machine and we had no trouble sleeping. The apartment was a great place to return to each night and the bed is very comfortable. Thanks Laurence and Nick!
This cozy studio apartment is in a super convenient location close to the excitement of the City, yet offers a private retreat for relaxing at the end of the day. Laurence greeted us upon our arrival and gave us a quick tour of the apartment, which is well appointed with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Just one block from Market Street/Castro Sreet where public transportation makes for easy access to anywhere in the City. Restaurants, bars, markets and shops are all located within a few blocks. We visit San Francisco at least twice per year and will definitely
stay here again.
The apartment was very comfortable and well kept. It had nice amenities, including the gas fireplace which helped to take the evening chill off.
This studio apartment was nicely appointed, clean and had most everything we needed as a landing pad after each exciting day exploring San Francisco. Our hosts were welcoming and provided an entire book of information about the area including restaurants, stores, transportation, etc. Laurence kindly allowed us to store our luggage the last day so we could stay in SF as long as possible prior to heading to the airport. There are many restaurants, bars and stores a quick walk away. We enjoyed breakfast at Raggedy Andy's and Squat and Gobble, dinner at Catch and L'Ardoise. We took BART in from the airport which worked well, choosing to walk a lot once we dropped our bags and use Lyft when we got tired. We visited Golden Gate Park, GG Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, de Young Fine Arts Museum, Nob Hill, Height Ashbury and many other neighborhoods. When in San Francisco next, we will certainly check to see if this space is available.
Great property and great location for our San Francisco visit. Hope to stay there again next time we go there.
What an incredibly convenient spot yet quiet as well! ‘Walked a lot around the neighborhood with much to explore and enjoyed coming back to the prettiest house of all. Everything I could need from lint roller to an iron and a wee kitchen for warming leftovers etc. So much better than a boring conference hotel room!
I’m sure there’s some magic trick to getting the shower to work without a knob, but I was stuck taking a bath which was enormous and lovely... I’ll be back :)
Located on a Magnolia tree lined residential street just north of San Francisco's famous Castro District. This quiet residential neighborhood is safe and walkable with nice restaurants and shops. And across Market Street is the historic Castro Street theater, restaurants, bars and shops. One block away is our weekly Farmer's Market (seasonal). Located within blocks of ALL San Francisco MUNI light rail lines and the historic F line which features historic street cars from around the world and is a fantastic way to travel to Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf and more. You won't need a car! See the map - look how many parks are located nearby. Hike? Play tennis? There are a number of tennis courts nearby - play tennis surrounded by redwoods and views of the Golden Gate and San Francisco Bay. Or walk a few blocks down 16th Street to Mission Dolores which is where San Francisco was founded. VIsit the historic wooden church which still holds services in German. Dine outside and enjoy the California sun.
