Overview

About the property

Cottage, 3 Bedrooms + Bunk Area, 2 Baths Sleeps 10

Leave it all behind and come into our affordable, lakefront cottage. Our home has 1380 sf of optimally-utilized living space, as evidenced in the photos. The accommodations, though modest, are well appointed, clean, and comfortable. Best of all...our deep water lake frontage, view, and accessibility are a most desireable complement. You are still 'on' the lake, even when you are in the house or on the deck.

About The Owner

2009 was our 15th consecutive year to vacation for a week at Norris Lake with our family and dear friends, both which continue to branch out! We were also blessed to find and purchase The SafeHouse. We have been seeking for a long time. We hope you love it too!

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2009

Why The Owner chose Norris Lake

Norris lake is part of us since our children were small. There is just no place better to relax and reconnect.

If you enjoy being right on the lake AND having a wonderful place to stay, look no further!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Norris Lake. It was important for me to find that perfect blend of having a great home for our family to stay in AND and have the perfect lakefront location with outdoor amenities. If I could give the Safehouse 10 Stars, I would on all counts! Eight of us stayed here and I couldn't have asked for more perfect accommodations.

THE HOUSE:

The owners have utilized every bit of space in the home for the perfect vacation spot. Very, very clean and updated with simple yet tasteful furnishings. The home is roomy with 3 bedrooms (really, 4 if you count the bunk area) and 2 full baths. The main living/kitchen/dining areas are on the main level and at the back of the house with all the comforts you need; along with the beautiful view of the lake in the background!! Preparing meals was never more enjoyable with this kind of view. Off the main living area is a deck that goes across the entire back of the house. This was perfect for eating outdoors with yet that wonderful view of the lake! There is also a fire pit which was perfect for smores in the evening.

THE LOCATION:

The Safehouse is located on a beautiful (and deep) cove with great swimming right off their dock. A lot of time was spent here between swimming and late-night fishing. It's also across the cove from a great (and popular) jumping cliff. We rented a ski boat for a couple of days and explored Norris Lake and found the location of the Safehouse to be in a more quiet part of the lake. Most of the time we felt that we had the entire lake to ourselves. You are just about a 15-minute boat ride to Twin Coves Marina or 30 minutes to Sequoyah Marina. Both of which have good food! Believe me, you CANNOT beat this location!

THE OWNERS:

I have rented through VRBO several times including places in North Carolina, Florida and Hawaii. We've always had good luck with owners and properties but the Safehouse owners Julie and Eric knocked it out of the park. They were as nice as you could ask for and so easy to work with. Julie was always just an email away. She answered any questions I had with detail; whether it was great places to eat, boat rental recommendations or lake information. It was so obvious to me how much they clearly love their home and Norris Lake and were more than willing to convey that!

The Safehouse more than fit our needs for the perfect Norris Lake vacation. I cannot recommend it enough and cannot wait to plan our next trip there!!

Awesome Lake House

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed another fantastic week at Norris Lake, this time at Safehouse. We've stayed at a number of Norris properties over the years, and this one was definitely one of our favorites! As stated in the description, the home is a bit on the small side, but the owners have made exceptional use of the space. The home has been very well maintained, with updated bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. All of the hooks provided in the bed and bathrooms were perfect for hanging wet towels and swimsuits. Outside the decks, stairs and dock were also well maintained and allowed for optimal enjoyment of the beautiful lake view. We enjoyed this "quieter" part of the lake, and plan on staying here again.

safehouse

  • 5 of 5

this is heaven on earth, the place became a home almost immediately, the place was clean, had nice appliances and dishes, great decks at two levels, the dock was solid, and great fishing (lost a great lure to a big catfish after several good size bass) my wife now understands why I want to move to the area sooo bad. there was another couple with us who had rented other places and they said this was by far the best and cleanest place they had ever experienced, if you need to think or just want solitude or just a great vacation, this is the place. the people in the area are so nice, if you go to Walmart expect service you can only dream, we had 4 people about 5 times when we needed something looking for us, WOW, twin cove marina was great for renting a boat, they were also so great to deal with and so informative, they loved living there too, Julie (one of the owners) was so nice to talk to and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed and if we had questions she wanted us to call her so that she could take care of it immediately but we were good, thank you Julie for a great vacation, looking forward to moving to the area, this place is FANTASTIC, I won't forget it, oh if anyone goes check out the shallow cave across the lake, it's cool, bird lovers paradise

A great vacation idea!

  • 5 of 5

The wife and I thought it was time for a family vacation and we chose The Safehouse for it. We had 8 adults and 4 grandbabies and all went very well. It is a beautiful lake home and is very well stocked and furnished. We launched a 27 foot Baja just down the street with ease and also rented a pontoon boat for 3 days, and there was plenty of room for both on the dock. We love Norris Lake and we will return to The Safehouse.

deceiving at first glance

  • 4 of 5

When I first saw the house, I thought "Oh my, there isn't going to be enough room". But once we got into the house and saw how it was laid out, I was pleasantly surprised. Kitchen was very well stocked, plenty of cookware, plates and silverware. We made good use of the fire ring and decks. House was very well maintained and had to issues what so ever. Thanks for the use of your lake home.
