About the property

Roomy Home + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5), With Private Pond.

Nestled in a natural meadow overlooking its own private pond and a partial view of the Olympic Mountains, this small and spacious cottage has all the peace and tranquility you could want. You can lounge on the porch in your pajamas all day if you like, enjoying the pond and the Bald Eagles nesting in the nearby trees or enjoy easy access to surrounding trails and peaceful roads that lead into the Olympic National Park.

This hideaway is ideal for 2 people although it can sleep 5. The main pond-view room has a single window-seat bed, and a sofa that converts to an excellent queen air-bed. You can cook with ease in the full kitchen, complete with everything, including spices and basic condiments. Up the ladder is a roomy loft with a memory-foam queen bed and a single mattress. You will find fine linens, towels, along with plenty of wood should you want to use the wood stove.

The Olympic Peninsula has more diversity than anywhere else in America. You can find almost anything your heart's desire. Ten minutes away are Sequim, Port Angeles, the world's longest sand spit, the ferry to Victoria, B.C., Canada and the Olympic National Park. Within 20 minutes you can venture into the moss covered rain forest, enjoy a stunning glacier carved lake, hike hundreds of miles of wilderness with crystal clear rivers, be awed by sandy rugged beaches and soak in natural hot springs.

About Suzann Pilot

We take pride in our lovely homes. We have three homes on our 25 acres that we have carefully built and kept private from each other, while taking advantage of the gorgeous nature all around. The Olympic Peninsula is such a joy to experience and we love to help people have the best experience possible. The Pond Cottage is our latest addition and although it is our smallest home, it has every charming amenity; tasteful rustic design, fine comfortable beds and a full quality kitchen. We have had delight in learning that everyone who stays there loves the Pond Cottage and we have had many happy guests.

Suzann Pilot purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Suzann Pilot chose Port Angeles

There will be no question why we bought this property when you see our place--it's spectacular. The Olympic Mountains , our ponds with beautiful natural meadows all around and easy access to the two major towns in the area gives us a chance to savor all that the Olympic Peninsula has to offer.

What makes this cottage unique

A peaceful, private place to come home and relax after a day enjoying the multitude of adventures and wonders of the Olympic Peninsula. This northern-most section of the United States has more diversity than anywhere else in the nation and its all a short drive from here.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We saw the Pond Cottage just as it was finished and we are definitely coming back to stay. These owners have built another quintessential Northwest home. We have stayed in their other homes and they pay such attention to detail.

Notes:
This tastefully designed northwest-themed cottage has become the 'honeymoon cottage'. So private and romantic, it has provided a honeymoon setting for over 32 couples (as of 2017). Most of the couples enjoyed it so much they have returned for a 1st anniversary celebration. An author stayed long enough to finish a novel he had been working on and five seniors even found they could share the space comfortably. It should be noted that the photos look like it is very isolated. The Cottage is private yet completely secure and surrounded by friendly neighbors that are out of view.

Soooo relaxing!!!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I love the Pond cottage. This is our second year coming here and it is always a relaxing retreat. This sanctuary is our favorite get-away of the year and already look forward to coming back here next year. The owners are fantastic and make you feel like part of the family; from the delicious cookies you get to the help in getting your car brushed off after a snow storm. If you have never stayed here you you are missing out on a hidden gem!

Very clean, private - perfect. Will return

  • 5 of 5

We had an extended day hiking trip on the peninsula and wished we had booked more nights in this lovely cabin. Suzann has paid attention to every detail - the cabin and grounds are meticulous. There is complete privacy without feeling too remote and access is easy to the park or the towns. The interior is so open and light thanks to the many large windows giving the feeling of being outdoors. Every evening and morning we enjoyed watching deer browsing by the pond. Suzann directed us to a nearby produce/grocery store featuring locally produced fare - suited all of our dining needs. We stayed at a few other spots around the Park but none could compare. When we return, we will definitely be staying here.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed as a family in the beautiful and cozy pond cabin. Was perfeclty clean, looked pretty new and was just a great place to stay. Location is about 5 or 10min off the highway and about 15min from Port Angeles. Great spot for whale watching and for the Olympic NP. Hosts were very supportive in every way.
