We take pride in our lovely homes. We have three homes on our 25 acres that we have carefully built and kept private from each other, while taking advantage of the gorgeous nature all around. The Olympic Peninsula is such a joy to experience and we love to help people have the best experience possible. The Pond Cottage is our latest addition and although it is our smallest home, it has every charming amenity; tasteful rustic design, fine comfortable beds and a full quality kitchen. We have had delight in learning that everyone who stays there loves the Pond Cottage and we have had many happy guests.
Suzann Pilot purchased this cottage in 2010
There will be no question why we bought this property when you see our place--it's spectacular. The Olympic Mountains , our ponds with beautiful natural meadows all around and yet really easy access to the two major towns in the area. We didn't need to be isolated in the National Park and have to drive a long way for groceries. We have the environment that is so precious in the Olympic Peninsula without the isolation.
A peaceful, private place to come home and relax after a day enjoying the multitude of adventures and wonders that the Olympic Peninsula. This northern-most section of the United States has more diversity than anywhere else in the nation and its all a short drive from here.
We saw the Pond Cottage just as it was finished and we are definitely coming back to stay. These owners have built another quintessential Northwest home. We have stayed in their other homes and they pay such attention to detail.
We stayed as a family in the beautiful and cozy pond cabin. Was perfeclty clean, looked pretty new and was just a great place to stay. Location is about 5 or 10min off the highway and about 15min from Port Angeles. Great spot for whale watching and for the Olympic NP. Hosts were very supportive in every way.
We had a great time at the Pond Cabin, and only wish our stay could have been longer. The cabin was a perfect blend of rustic seclusion with modern amenities. We enjoyed the views, wildlife, and firepit, as well as the internet and satellite TV. It was perfectly situated in an isolated location, with easy access to Olympic National Park and Port Angeles and Sequim. The quiet and stars were a welcome change from city life. The cabin was exactly as advertised, and the homemade cookies were a nice welcome. We can't wait to return in the future!
This cabin may be small but it has EVERYTHING you could possibly need when seeking a home away from home. You can tell the cabin is made with the most attention to detail and everything about it is cute. I loved sitting in the window seat and hanging out on the porch. I hope I can stay here again soon! It was hard to leave...
We loved this cottage!! The setting was secluded and private and we loved the sounds of the frogs in the evenings. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. It was close enough to all the things we wanted to do -- Dungeness spit, Hurricane ridge, Marymere falls. The loft was cozy yet roomy for our family of 4. My daughters loved the day bed for reading and coloring. Would highly recommend to friends!!
My partner and I had a lovely time in this cozy cottage, which is tucked away outside of Port Angeles--far enough away from town to feel secluded, but close enough to make a dinner out (we enjoyed Next Door Gastropub) , or exploring the north Olympic Peninsula (both mountains and sea) easy. After a scenic, winding drive out to Cape Flattery along the rugged, gray coast, or a serene, mossy hike at Lake Crescent, the Pond Cottage welcomed us back like the perfect home away from home should. At night, the wood stove provided a lovely warmth after a long day of exploring, and the generous views to the pond and meadow were a welcome sight in the morning. Bird watching was very fun at the cottage -- we saw woodpeckers, Steller's jays, red winged black birds, juncos, a dove and hummingbirds, and one morning we saw deer, too. This is a great spot for a couple, small group or individual looking to get away to find some peace and quiet.
My husband and I have 4 kids ages 9,8,4 and 2. We stayed here very cozily and comfortably. There was a personalized note as well as some very yummy cookies upon our arrival. The listing description was completely what we expected. The kitchen offers everything you'd need form home. The Loft bed is perfect for a nice night's sleep, the bedding is a little worn out. Our 4 kids slept well on the window mattress and the hide-a-bed. There is a nook table for dining that seated the 6 of us well enough, but probably only 5 adults well. The outdoors is beautiful. The pond is serene and my boys loved running around it. I'm sure in warmer months it would be fun to take a small canoe or kayak around. It is quiet which is just what our family needed. As far as local attractions, it is about 35 minutes form Hurricane ridge ski area and it's a gorgeous drive. We ate out once, I don't recommend Smuggler's Landing. The food is just ok and the atmosphere is out dated. Over all we enjoyed our stay and Suzann and Martin were very friendly.
