Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 9

Our cabin is a charming retreat in a native woodland setting. It's in the heart of Deep Creek Lake, offering recreational activities year round. Wisp Ski Resort is 3 miles and the lake is a short stroll away. Stay at our cozy hideaway under the stars. In winter you'll find a snow filled wonderland as you relax by the crackling fire. Spring, summer or fall take a swim, explore nature or go boating. Go to the nearby cafe or stay and have cappuccino on the deck. Take a day trip to Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater. Our cabin is an accommodating, truly hip, cozy getaway for families and singles. It's the place for a wonderful healthy break at an affordable price.

We will continue to make changes to the property in keeping with a greener world. We would appreciate your insights in creating a 'greener' cabin as well. Here's to a healthy body, mind, planet and lifestyle. We look forward to sharing our cabin retreat with you.

Eco Friendly Living: It's our goal to have the cabin completely renewable(green)and self sufficient, as soon as technology and financing allows(keep renting and we will get there sooner!) Currently we have used eco-paints that do not emit harmful gases. We've furnished the cabin using Craig's list which means most everything is recycled at least one generation. We use renewable products and recycle whenever possible. Water is renewably drawn from our well and heat is enhanced by the fireplace.

Charming, lovely cabin; well furnished

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was for my 45th and our 14th and provided a fully furnished get away that gave a perfect balance of amenity and disconnect that allowed us to recharge and reconnect far away from everyday and close enough to familiar comfort.

Perfect mountain experience

  • 5 of 5

We could not have asked for a cozier cabin. Enough space for the teenagers to chill, but small enough we still did everything as a family. We enjoyed the selection board games with our children. The hot tub was an experience in the snow and on a starry night. The customer of snow made everything even more magical! And the owners were wonderful to work with. We love using the inside and outside fires and she helped us secure enough wood prior to our stay. The place was super clean and all the little touches really made it one of the best vacations we have had in a long time! Can’t wait to come back!!

This property is very special. Our family was instantly relaxed and ready for a great weekend. The cabin is spacious yet cozy. The design and detail is incredible. Every detail is thoughtful and carefully curated from the bed linens to the beautiful bowls and coffee cups and fully stocked pantry. And everything was so fresh and clean!!! Spotless!!! We will certainly be back!!

A wonderful property

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 nights at the cabin recently and found it to be clean, enough space, and had all the amenities that were listed. I spoke with Dale before we left and she was very accommodating to my question, and could not have been nicer. The cabin is situated perfectly for all the activities and restaurants we wanted to enjoy during out stay. The booklet with places to visit and eat was a nice addition. We totally enjoyed traveling up to Falling Water and taking the tour, as well as hiking in 3 state parks. Herrington Manor was quite the surprise with a beach and cabins that we saw. No one was there except us ! The fire pit was a major hit at night roasting marshmallows that were in the pantry among other things such as the pancakes. Such a nice touch. It would have been nice if there had been a bench or a couple of chairs around the fire pit while we sat out there each night enjoying the fire. The cabin is exactly as described and the 4 nights we stayed there were wonderful. Of course sunny weather and temperatures in the high 70s was quite a smile too.

Owner's Response: You really had a great adventure! So glad that you enjoyed the central location of the cabin for your activities. Thanks for the tip - now I will explore Herrington Manor. As for the fire pit, you have a good point. Since it is located on a large boulder I think chairs are tricky, but I will try to solve this with sturdy low stools. Hopefully that will make the roasted marshmallows taste even better!

Charming Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a weekend getaway at this charming cabin in the woods. Our children loved exploring the woods in the back yard and sitting in the hot tub. It was cozy and tastefully decorated.

the cabin was what it promised--very woodsy, a great Jacuzzi, very convenient to Deep Creek State Park and WISP, and well stocked with supplies (including marshmallows)!
