Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Three couples rented this lodge for the weekend. We picked up the key and drove to the conveniently located lodge. Everything was very clean and well appointed. The bedrooms were private. We enjoyed the fireplace with a plentiful supply of wood. The living room had comfortable seating for the six of us. The kitchen was well supplied with everything to prepare full meals. Owner called us during stay to see if there was anything we needed. It was a wonderful weekend getaway.

Renter - 5 star!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I have rented Sargents cabins before & knew we couldn't go wrong renting again.

This one was a bit larger then the other & the view, deck were fantastic. I invited my sister & her husband, They both loved it. Everything we needed was there. Beds very comfortable. We will rent from them

again. Hopefully our grown kids & grand kids will join us next time. I will recommend their cabins to friends & family.

Great Greer Experience

  • 5 of 5

My family has been vacationing in Greer since the 1940's and I have so many memories in my 37 years. The Sargents cabin was awesome as expected! It's a minute walk to the stream and Molly's which was nice and a ten minute walk to downtown. The cabin sits on a large lot with covered parking and plenty of room for multipl vehicles. It has great views, horseshoes, and a nice swing to relax on in the yard. The cabin is very clean, comfortable, and has all the necessities like pots, pans, utensils, and spices. I loved the cabin feel with the fireplace and decor. Last but certainly not least, the deck is unbelievable. We loved sitting out there barbecuing and enjoying the rain. Mr. Sargent even called us after our stay to ask if everything went as expected and if we had recommendations for improving our stay. We had a great time! Thank you!

We have been staying at Sargents cabins for several years now. The lodge was as memorable as all his cabins, he is always checking to make sure we are happy and comfortable. As with all his cabins we have stayed at this is a beauty. Clean, furnished has everything especially the views' could hear the Elk bugling at night the piece and serenity is at it's best. Thanks Mr. Sargent

The Perfect End of Summer

  • 5 of 5

Our family has vacationed in Greer for nearly 30 years, since our boys were small children. When we gave up our tent trailer, we looked into the cabin get-a-way, and have rented Sargent's Cabins on numerous occasions. Both Sargent's Hideaway and Sargent's Cabin served us well, But now our boys have families, and we moved up to Sargent's Lodge two years ago. (The next step will likely be Sargent's Hacienda.)

Our stay at the Lodge this past Labor Day weekend was perfect, as always. Jay keeps the cabin in pristine condition. Most everything is provided with the exception of clothing, personal items, and food. There was plenty of room for the grandkids and all the adults. The boys had fun playing on the large deck and out on the lawn in the built-in horseshoe pit. We barbecued steaks and trout on the gas grill and dined, both outdoors on the terrace, and at the large dining room table. The view of the valley, mountains, and Little Colorado is exquisite. (Our oldest son caught his first trout many years ago just a stone's throw away from the cabin.) At night, we could clearly see the Milky Way over our heads, and we watched the moon and Venus set in the west.

We have utilized Sargent's Cabins during all seasons of the year. Whether it be a ski trip, or summer retreat, the facility is conducive to a variety of indoor and outdoor activities in any type of weather. The WiFi at the Lodge is most helpful, and there is even a phone, if needed. The Lodge is in close proximity to shopping, restaurants and medical facilities in Springerville, cross country and downhill skiing, walking, hiking and mountain biking. Bird watching, flora, and fauna are all a foregone conclusion. (A bluebird greeted us every morning from its perch in the Ponderosa Pine next to the Lodge.) There are also wonderful eating spots in Greer, as well as other attractions to enjoy. For anglers, there are numerous spots along the Little Colorado, the Greer Lakes, Sunrise and Big Lake, to mention just a few bodies of water close by.

Jay and family exude pride of ownership, and are generous in sharing their properties with renters. From the time we entered the Lodge living room with the interesting array of stuffed trophies and art displayed on the walls, to the moment we departed for home, our time at Sargent's Lodge was marked with joy and relaxation. As our older son remarked, "I want my children to experience all the great times we had in Greer as kids."

We look forward to returning!

Gorham Family

  • 5 of 5

We have enjoyed the hospitality of all four of Jay Sargent’s Cabins in Greer, Arizona for the past 15 years. We have just returned from a wonderful family week in Sergeant’s Lodge, the 3 BR 2 Bath fully appointed cabin. It is so comfortable and relaxing to come home to after a day of fishing, hiking, and antiquing. The Museum is a regular visit every year; always learn something new & find new books to read or a gift or two for family or friends. Of course, JJ, our daughter, & grandson always provide at least one big dinner of grilled trout, fresh out of the stream (and some to bring home)! Have to mention JJ's 2015 biggest trout catch (8lb 4 oz, 26 inch) – what a beauty!

Early mornings we enjoy having coffee on the deck, watching the deer & elk come in to browse in the meadow. Late afternoon & evenings we often enjoy the "light show" of lightning, thunder, rain, very cool temps, misty mountains & forest. Playing horseshoes, cheering from the swing bench are also favorites in the large, grassy yard. The fireplace is a lovely, though rare treat as we prefer cooler temps..

Jay Sargent’s’ other cabins are equally fantastic, each accommodating various group sizes. Jay is meticulous in providing the best, most comfortable vacation experience possible in his lodgings. We greatly appreciate his efforts to make our summer getaway a most pleasurable experience. We have even enjoyed having a family Thanksgiving week in one of Sargent’s cabins, roast turkey & all! Thanks, Jay! We always look forward to our annual Greer getaway! And can’t forget to express appreciation for all the wonderful people of the Greer community who are always so friendly & welcoming!
