About Kathy Chambers

Although Chris is a local, we have lived in Sandpoint for 23 years now as a family. We love everything this town has to offer, and love even more sharing it with visitors. Living just blocks away allows us to keep the condo very clean and well-stocked!

Kathy Chambers purchased this condo in 2006

Why Kathy Chambers chose Lake Pend Oreille

We purchased the building in 2006 and remodeled all 9 units, keeping one for ourselves. The building was long overdue for some TLC, and we were fortunate enough to have the time to provide that!

What makes this condo unique

Being just 2 blocks to downtown makes this a perfect location for those who want to experience Sandpoint like a local. Bikes are big here, so keep the car parked and ride everywhere! Why stay in a hotel where you must eat out every meal when you can cook in your own kitchen enjoying all of Sandpoint's summer bounty found at the Farmer's Market?

Local Gem for small party lodging.

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely perfect! This place worked out wonderfully for my son & my needs during our ski vacation to Schweitzer Mountain. Just a short drive from the resort & a 2 block walk from the downtown main drag of Sandpoint, 3 blocks from a grocery made it so convenient! This place would work great for 3 persons with 2 sleeping in the Queen size bed. Having all the amenities of home, including well stocked spices for cooking & folks able to leave non perishables for the delight of the next visitor makes the experience all the more inviting. Its clean & definitely roomy enough for 2. The covered car port was nice too with the rain coming down. We didn"t use it, but the laundry facilities right there are a plus. I would recommend this place to any couple. The owners were great about communications too.

Good location for walking or bicycling with excellent amenities

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is centrally located. It is nicely appointed with good quality items. There is a pleasant shared outdoor area that has lawn and chairs and mature trees to sit under. The only thing that was not perfect is the traffic on Boyer. Lots of commercial trucks which, I think, may be due to the large construction project that is currently rerouting traffic.

I loved hopping on my bike or walking to everything.

A great place!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great one bedroom apartment. It was very clean and had everything we needed plus extras - thoughtfully appointed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The location is good with easy access to downtown and the beach - an easy walk or bike ride. We enjoyed the two bikes for riding to the beach as well as exploring some bike/ walking trails. The only downside was that the unit is not air conditioned, but the provided fan made it comfortable for sleeping. It was nice to have laundry facilities on site. We would stay here again.

Quaint, beautiful, 1 bedroom apartment close to town

  • 4 of 5

Updated, attractive, well equipped. Everything needed to cook a good meal. Well stocked. Many extras for comfort and convenience. We were there for an abnormally Hot July week in mid nineties. There is no air conditioning system and we maintained comfortable Temps indoors by leaving the windows open at night and closing them in the morning.

The only drawback is the traffic noise due to the intersection that is quite busy with heavy trucks. I am a light sleeper and found the morning light into the bedroom window and the noise (when windows are open) to be very disruptive. Overall a beautiful, clean, comfortable stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your honest review! I have a few thoughts (and a solution) for the street noise. Sandpoint recently revised their downtown street directions, so traffic has been confusing to say the least! My opinion is that many locals are avoiding downtown and using arterials until things calm down a bit. I also think Sandpoint is experiencing an inlfux of visitors, more than usual. I purchased a sleep machine (white noise/waterfall/thunderstorms, etc.) for the bedroom in the hopes that it helps. If not, our next move is to get AC in the bedroom and avoid opening the windows altogether!

Very nice for my one-month stay!

  • 4 of 5

Kathy was a great hostess! The condo had everything you could possibly need for your stay and it was very clean. The only negative was the road noise since it is on a busy corner, so I ran a fan at night to lessen the noise. You don't need a car much since it is close to downtown and there are lots of hiking and bike trails around. Very enjoyable stay.
