Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cabin in Waynesville

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Discover the magic of the Smokies in this hand built, rustic log cabin perched on Eagle's Nest Mountain high above the quaint town of Waynesville. Enjoy our beautiful four and a half acre mountainside setting with pond, stream, seasonal gardens and mature hardwoods.

The cabin, with its perfect location in a cozy, secluded setting, sleeps up to 4 people. Downstairs, the master suite has a queen-sized bed, roomy closet and attached bathroom with Jacuzzi tub/shower. Upstairs, the open loft has two double beds and bathroom with shower. Relax inside by the stone, wood-burning fireplace or outside in a rocking chair on the wrap-around porch. Additional amenities include a fully-equipped kitchen, TV/DVD, CD player/stereo (with speakers in the main room, master bedroom and front porch) and land line telephone. The recent addition of a fire pit behind the cabin adds further opportunity to relax.

Waynesville has long been known for its picturesque small-town charm. You will find friendly people, great shops, restaurants and tree-shaded benches to sit on and rest a spell. In season, ole ‘timey street dances and annual festivals fill the little town with excitement, but with none of the hassle of crowds and honky-tonk typical of “tourist traps.”

There is so much to do while you’re here. Explore the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Pisgah National Forest or the Biltmore Estate. Ride and hike the Blue Ridge Parkway. Golf down the road at Laurel Ridge Country Club, raft the Nantahala, ski Catalouchee, ride horseback…or simply kick back and watch the traffic at the bird feeders.

About The Owner

I was raised in New Orleans, where I still live, and attended summer camp in Western North Carolina. My wife and I purchased The Cabin on Eagles Nest along with our second residence in 2001 and we love spending as much time as possible in the mountains.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2002

Why The Owner chose Maggie Valley/Waynesville Area

We love Waynesville and its friendly people and we are only 30 minutes from downtown Asheville.

What makes this cabin unique

We have a large garden, available for our guests to wander and enjoy, that keeps us busy when we are in the mountains. After gardening, it's time to relax and travel Western North Carolina. We especially enjoy sunsets at Water Rock Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway just 15 minutes away.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Thank you for allowing us to share the beauty of this cabin with you. The surroundings are amazing! This was perfect for a little getaway - especially on Valentine's Day! We love how peaceful & refreshing the creek is, a big change for "city-life" We can't wait to come again."

Wonderful visit!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin as always and wish we had more time! Such a great place to relax, everything you need is there, from the stocked kitchen to the cozy bed and fireplace. Great grounds for the pups and ourselves to stroll. Waynesville is such a great town! We enjoyed hiking the trails off the Parkway, trying the different breweries in Waynesville, great places to eat, then returning to this sweet cabin! We are never let down when we return to Waynesville and the Cabin on Eagles Nest. We will be back!

Wonderful retreat for rest and relaxation!

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming bi-annually to the cabin for several years and enjoy it each time. The location is so convenient and the cabin is fully equipped with all the conveniences we need! Full kitchen includes coffeemaker, refrig, stove and microwave. We enjoy watching movies on the flat screen and having wifi provides easy connectivity. Thank you for a wonderful place to escape for leaf watching and local adventures!

Recommended to anyone wanting to unplug

We absolutely enjoyed everything about this place. I don't know where to begin or where to end so I'll just keep in the middle and say it's a slice of Heaven. It's so convenient to Waynesville. The gardens and koi pond were beautiful. The woodwork and fireplace put me over the top on the interior! So relaxing! We will be back!!

The Cabin at Eagles Nest was the perfect place to stay for our girls' weekend.

  • 5 of 5

This was the third year in a row we stayed at The Cabin at Eagles Nest, and we already are calling it our "second home". The cabin was just the right size for us. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the seating inside and outside on the porch was comfortable. We did not use the fire pit in the back of the house because it was summertime, but it was inviting to look at! The location is perfect. It is close to shopping downtown, restaurants, or you can just enjoy the quietness of the rustic mountain setting. We love it.
