Discover the magic of the Smokies in this hand built, rustic log cabin perched on Eagle's Nest Mountain high above the quaint town of Waynesville. Enjoy our beautiful four and a half acre mountainside setting with pond, stream, seasonal gardens and mature hardwoods.
The cabin, with its perfect location in a cozy, secluded setting, sleeps up to 4 people. Downstairs, the master suite has a queen-sized bed, roomy closet and attached bathroom with Jacuzzi tub/shower. Upstairs, the open loft has two double beds and bathroom with shower. Relax inside by the stone, wood-burning fireplace or outside in a rocking chair on the wrap-around porch. Additional amenities include a fully-equipped kitchen, TV/DVD, CD player/stereo (with speakers in the main room, master bedroom and front porch) and land line telephone. The recent addition of a fire pit behind the cabin adds further opportunity to relax.
Waynesville has long been known for its picturesque small-town charm. You will find friendly people, great shops, restaurants and tree-shaded benches to sit on and rest a spell. In season, ole ‘timey street dances and annual festivals fill the little town with excitement, but with none of the hassle of crowds and honky-tonk typical of “tourist traps.”
There is so much to do while you’re here. Explore the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Pisgah National Forest or the Biltmore Estate. Ride and hike the Blue Ridge Parkway. Golf down the road at Laurel Ridge Country Club, raft the Nantahala, ski Catalouchee, ride horseback…or simply kick back and watch the traffic at the bird feeders.

I was raised in New Orleans, where I still live, and attended summer camp in Western North Carolina. My wife and I purchased The Cabin on Eagles Nest along with our second residence in 2001 and we love spending as much time as possible in the mountains.
Bill Trufant purchased this cabin in 2002
We love Waynesville and its friendly people and we are only 30 minutes from downtown Asheville.
We have a large garden, available for our guests to wander and enjoy, that keeps us busy when we are in the mountains. After gardening, it's time to relax and travel Western North Carolina. We especially enjoy sunsets at Water Rock Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway just 15 minutes away.
"Thank you for allowing us to share the beauty of this cabin with you. The surroundings are amazing! This was perfect for a little getaway - especially on Valentine's Day! We love how peaceful & refreshing the creek is, a big change for "city-life" We can't wait to come again."
My husband and I stayed here for three nights with our two chihuahuas. Everything about this cabin is quite lovely. It's secluded and private, yet close to shopping and restaurants. Grounds are fun to explore and it's fenced so dogs are safe. We kept a fire going in the fireplace almost the entire time, so nice to sit with a glass of wine. Kitchen is well-stocked and we enjoyed preparing meals. Just a really cozy lovely place; we could definitely tell that the owners put love and attention into this cabin. We will be back.
Will stay there again. Love the privacy the property provides.
The property has beautiful views. There is a small pond with koi and a creek with the sound of running water. So peaceful. The cabin beautiful, full of rustic charm.
Our third stay at The Cabin on Eagles Nest, and better than ever. So close to everything, yet so private and removed. Just moments from downtown Waynesville and highway entrance, so you can enjoy the quaint town of Waynesville, or jump on the highway and be in Asheville, Maggie Valley, Cherokee, etc. in an easy, short drive. The cabin has everything you'll need to relax, yet feel the comforts of home. The grounds are wooded with beautiful views from your front porch. Be sure to watch the sunrise over the mountains, and get outside at night and look at the stars. Owner extremely helpful and respondent. We love Western North Carolina, and this is our go-to spot to stay while exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway, Smoky Mountains, and the small towns along the way.
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin as always and wish we had more time! Such a great place to relax, everything you need is there, from the stocked kitchen to the cozy bed and fireplace. Great grounds for the pups and ourselves to stroll. Waynesville is such a great town! We enjoyed hiking the trails off the Parkway, trying the different breweries in Waynesville, great places to eat, then returning to this sweet cabin! We are never let down when we return to Waynesville and the Cabin on Eagles Nest. We will be back!
