Outside. Imagine a two-acre Garden of Eden with a vacation home dropped in the middle, featured in the 2016 Beverly Shores Garden Walk. Each portion of this property is an outdoor room with its own character. The front "tranquility room" features gardens and waterfalls, with massive sweeping maples, oaks, evergreens and dozens of different perennial varieties. The outdoor "party room" to the east features the 9-person hot tub, fire pit, grill and outdoor shower. The south-facing outdoor "sun room" features chaise lounges and other outdoor seating on a curvilinear and massive deck that looks like a gentle sand dune facing a pine forest. The west-facing "game lawn" is perfect for corn hole and other outdoor games.

Inside. With five bedrooms (two of the bedrooms have two sets of bunkbeds each, so there are 8 bunks, two queen beds and a king bed, plus a queen-sized pull-out sofa) and four full bathrooms, as many as 16 (when using pullout sofa) can have a great time over the week or weekend, and all sleep onsite. Sorry, we are no longer allowing weddings, bachelor parties, high school or college groups, and any groups over 16 people (unless several are small children).

Features: Signature deck with outdoor gas grill, 9-person hot tub, outdoor shower and a luxury lower level with its own living area, tv, two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a bar and laundry. Upstairs features a full bathroom with 4'x6' shower with dual shower heads and three bedrooms, brand new and expanded kitchen open to and combined with the dining/four-seasons room with gas fireplace and living room.

The pond and waterfalls make this 2-acre property a retreat for all types of groups. The home was featured in the 2016 Beverly Shores Garden Walk.

Spring and fall are my favorite times, but even winter is cozy in this getaway! Less than a mile to the beach, so you can walk, bike or drive. Bike rentals are available during summer just down the street. There are also food trucks in the same location.

What makes this different from most homes in Beverly Shores is the location and lot size. We are close enough to the lake to make it an easy walk, bike or drive, but unlike homes close to the lake, this lot is two acres, which gives you a feeling of privacy while still being able to spread out.

The driveway is large and circular, so can accommodate several cars. The post office parking lot is adjacent and can be used after business hours. The owner also owns the post office building/site.

If you like to eat and don't want to grill all the time on site, the best restaurant is Bartlett's, open just two doors down. It is a focal point of post-beach activity or a great place for Bloody Mary's anytime of day! Next door is Dunes Antiques. These are our neighbors and they are great! Go shop and meet them!

Excessive noise, yelling, playing loud music is not tolerated, so if this is your style, you may want to pass on us.

The goal is for you and your friends, family or significant other to have a fantastic time in a safe, calm environment. The stream, waterfall and shade garden help with the tranquil mood. If you want more information, just email me!

About The Owner

I am a business owner originally from Indiana. I completed nearly all the landscaping, pond and waterfalls. Creating a sense of retreat has been the goal here as my normal life is hectic with travel and deadlines.

The Owner purchased this house in 2004

Why The Owner chose Beverly Shores

This is a great area: beaches, dunes, forest, hiking, not to mention great shopping and playing in Michigan City at the outlet mall and the Blue Chip casino. The best part for me was the ability of my dog to run around two acres and chase deer, squirrels, etc. The casual atmosphere here is great!

What makes this house unique

Everyone here is just here to relax or have fun -- or both! You can grab ice cream or coffee at the gas station (walkable), a full meal or drink at Bartlett's (walkable), mail a letter(!) at the town post office at the entrance to the property, and you can really utilize the property however you want to have a good time -- indoors or out. It's even beautiful in the winter b/c there is almost always a nice snow cover!

Beautiful Setting - Great Arrangements for Families

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent stay at this property in Beverly Shores. Perfect set up for our multi-generational family with several couples and a handful of children. Very clean and spacious, beautiful new kitchen, plenty of cooking utensils/dishes (two coffee makers was great!), ample bedding/towels. Everything you needed and nothing you didn't. Could perhaps use a larger dining table with more than 8 chairs as we had to send half the group outside to each, which was fine since we had great weather. We appreciated the soaps, detergent, trash bags, etc being provided. Secluded and private yet close enough to all the action in nearby Michigan City (by car). Hope to make a return visit someday!

Easy to communicate with owner/manager. Outdoor landscaping is beautiful. Enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and hot tub. Beautiful new kitchen, too! Would definitely go back again.

Perfect for family gathering

  • 5 of 5

We rented this lovely home for the week of Thanksgiving so that all our far flung family members could share time together. This was a most wonderful choice! Enough rooms for everyone to have some privacy, a beautifully decorated and well appointed two story home and a large dining room table that allowed for board games galore - what more could we ask for? As others noted, the kitchen is small, but that did not keep us from putting together the usual Thanksgiving feast. The younger family members ventured to the Indiana Dunes for some hiking while the rest of us cooked. All in all, it was a memorable week. When my Chicago area son was packing up the kids, my grandson did not want to leave! The owner was very accessible and communication was excellent. I would highly recommend this beautiful home! We would return in a heartbeat.. Thanks from my entire family.

Loved our stay there!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the house for a work retreat, it was a perfect atmosphere for it. The outdoor water display with the frog pond was beautiful, very relaxing. The house had plenty of space and bathrooms for all us to fit comfortably. The outdoor fire pit was great too, the fall scenery were beautiful as well. The actual house itself was fantastic, it was in great condition and the decorating was impeccable. Only one downside is that the kitchen is very very small so it made it a bit challenging having more than 1 person in there. We are looking forward to staying again!

Owner's Response: Thank you! We will be renovating and expanding the kitchen this winter (combining with the back room), so luckily that issue will be solved!

Perfect for our girls weekend

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed here three times and each time, we are so sad to leave. This house is amazing and the continuing upgrades just make it better each time. The hot tub, fire pit and outside shower are such a treat! The landscaping is gorgeous! There were 12 of us that stayed and everyone had such a great time. Can't wait until next year! Thanks Rob!
