About Jorge Martinez

Born in Havana-Cuba moving to the USA in 1969. Grew up mostly in the South Bay of Los Angeles graduating from Mira Costa High School in 1975. Have lived in Manhattan Beach, Torrance, Long Beach, Bakersfield, and now Palm Springs. Hospitality has been my carrier since my first job just out of high school. Now enjoying life to the fullest and sharing a piece of Paradise with my guests.

Why Jorge Martinez chose Warm Sands

Being in the Hospitality Industry all my life I long dreamed of owning my own business where I could provide deluxe, comfortable, and personable but yet private accommodations for travelers from all parts of the world. Since the late 1970’s I often vacationed in Palm Springs where I always enjoyed the warm sunny weather and relaxing resort style atmosphere this wonderful town has to offer. The Mid-Century Modern architecture, majestic mountains surrounding the valley and historic Hollywood movie star flair are but a few features that makes Palm Springs like no other location in the world.

When it came time to choose the destination for my dream I considered other locations like Hawaii and Key West, but the charm and location of this amazing desert city far outweighed any others I could have chosen. So, in 1996 I made the best decision I ever made in my life and chose Palm Springs to live out my dream. Since then my experience here has surpass my expectations and every day that goes by I continue to find new exiting things to see and do, and what a great feeling it is to share that with my guests!

Built in the late 1950’s a recent renovation has incorporated original features such as our retro kitchen and original bathroom tiles with today’s interior design touches like the wall to wall ceramic designer tile, Euro style furnishings and artwork to create a mix between history and today’s comfort necessities.

Home away from home-but lots warmer

This location is excellent. It is walking distance to downtown. The apartment is cozy, well furnished, quiet and is a home away from home. The owner wants people to be happy here and works hard to make it so. This was our 3rd stay and we will be back next year.

There are many hiking trails in town or not a far drive away to be enjoyed.

Very quiet. Sunny pool and hot tub with perfect temperatures.

Cozy place with nice patio

Three of us stayed in Jorge's cozy place, which is just a short jot to the downtown restaurants and sights. The patio area is a nice place to relax and listen to the fountain, had a great time!

Loved it

This place was very quaint. Great location to downtown Palm Springs. Very clean. The pool was refreshing and shaded in the evening.

There were two adults and two kids staying here. It felt a bit crowded with the kids sleeping in the living room as we didn't close the sofa bed during the day. There was only three seats around the table area for eating. There was a lot of room to sit outside and eat but never had the chance as we spent most days outside in the heat.

One thing we forgot to mention to Jorge was the shower head was clogged.

We would definitely stay there again but without kids so we could have a more relaxing vacation.

Clean, quaint, convenient

We had a very enjoyable stay at this little condo compound. Jorge is courteous and accommodating and the neighborhood good for walking. It is close to a wonderful little bakery (Swiss Donut) that opens at 5 AM. Wonderful area for getting around on bicycle as well. Close driving distance to great mountain hikes also. We would recommend.

Great getaway retreat

Our 1st impression was that it was a little older then we expected. HOWEVER, our 3 week stay in this little cozy complex was absolutely wonderful. It had everything we needed, it was clean, private and very quiet. Jorge was very good welcoming us and explaining everything to us. He was always there but never intrusive. The location is great and within walking distance to town, groceries, etc.

Owner's Response: It is nice to hear how guests come to appreciate the charm of a vintage/retro property build in the late 1950's which still has original features such as metal Youngstown by Mullins kitchen cabinets and original retro tile in the bathroom. The location, services and amenities offered add to the retro charm of the property making it a memorable experience for either short or long term guests.

Your new vacation home is located near Downtown in the none windy South Area of Palm Springs, California. Made famous in the mid 1900's by Hollywood Movies Stars, Palm Springs was the place Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, and Bob Hope got away to play golf and drink martinis by the pool. Located less than 100 miles (2 hour drive) from Los Angeles, Palm Springs is still home to many stars in the entertainment industry. Local Movie Star Tours will show you where they live. Walk to downtown from your apartment and stroll through the sidewalks gazing at the Walk of Stars to find your favorite idol or shop at the many stores located in the Downtown Village. The mountain views are amazing. Ascend 2.5 miles to a pristine wilderness aboard the World's Largest Rotating Tram Cars and hike for hours amongst nature or enjoy the many other amenities available at the top. Golf, hiking, shopping, and a lively nightlife are but a few of the things to do here.
