The Cabin at Lydia’s Canyon was constructed by its owners as a haven to escape the in-laws. Nathan grew up in the Lydia’s canyon area farming and ranching with family while Ramona spent her early years in Florida and moved to Glendale for her teenage years. The Property was purchased from Nathan’s Grandmother and plans to build a retreat began. With the designing abilities of Ramona and the skills of Nathan the cabin began to take shape. The logs were milled locally and the labor was performed by Nathan and Ramona’s families. The rock for the wainscoting is native stone gathered from Dry Wash (one mile south), and installed with the help of Nathan’s father.
The Cabin is accessible yet secluded and has been a favorite vacation spot for the Chamberlains for the past few years. The Chamberlain children enjoy playing in the pond and stream and watching the horses and cows graze across the canyon. Wildlife is harder to spot yet on occasion can be seen along with a few other wooded creatures that happen to find their way into the cabin.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2004
The cabin is clean, secluded and comfortable with full kitchen facilities. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay.
The Cabin at Lydia's Canyon served as a wonderful base while we visited Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. It was away from the busy tourist spots, yet within easy driving distance of everything.
The kitchen and bath were stocked with extra essentials and the property was clean and well-maintained. We especially enjoyed the deck - watching the sunset after dinner one night and sipping coffee while watching the horses in the mornings.
We would definitely recommend The Cabin as a cozy and comfortable option to anyone planning to visit this area.
It was a very good space for a young family of five and located centrally between Zion and Bryce Canyon ( 1hr either way give or take) The kitchen was really well equipped and the cabin is extremely clean and homely. The beds are the only thing that could be improved but not the end of the world. We would defiantly recommend this cabin .
This is a cabin in the woods. Great location for Zion and Bryce. We were a family of 5 and everyone had a bed. The deck was great to sit out in the morning and have coffee. The Cabin was well equipped and clean, my only complaint is that there is no dining room table for all of us to eat. There is a long bar table to eat or you can eat out on the deck.
I would stay here again.
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed the stay at the cabin. We had a very pleasant stay at the property. The cabin was clean and well maintained and the owners were very easy to reach with any questions we had. The cabin provided a peaceful retreat. It was close to the main highway but yet still very quiet. It made for a very relaxing experience while in the cabin. We used the grill and well equipped kitchen to prepare some home cooked meals and pack lunches for our hikes in Zion and Bryce. The location was great for our trips to Zion and Bryce. This was our first time in the area and we would definitely recommend this property for others. We hope to be able to utilize this property again soon.
Cabin was very nice: clean, comfortable, and well appointed and located. Owners were easily available while non-intrusive, and responded promptly to item left behind. As noted, the setting is lovely w/Zion, Bryce, Escalante all w/i close range; there is also a small slot canyon in Orderville for a quick and easy hike. Be prepared for noise from the highway, especially when dining outside, although this was an expected and relatively minor issue. Pond water was clear and fresh for swimming, but be mindful of snakes! Great rental and very reasonable.
