We love spending time with friends and family -- whether hosting a dinner party at home, dining out (upscale and downscale), traveling to new places, or just watching a DVD in our PJs with the kids. We appreciate living in an area with great access to shopping, restaurants and nightlife in downtown SLC, ski resorts and the airport, all in a nice and friendly city.
Wendy Evans purchased this house in 2010
We purchased this home in 2010 and rented it for 2.5 years before moving in permanently. Now that it's our permanent home, we have spent the past several years adding our own finishing touches to an already great home, plus it has our full living items available for your use. From updating the decor to a mix of contemporary and modern touches, adding some extras to the already great gourmet kitchen (love that wine fridge), updating the house with modern technology (Sonos music system throughout, Nest temperature system), and refinishing the basement into a luxury in-law suite which our guests love to stay in. This is the first time we're renting our home since we moved our family in and we think you'll enjoy these extras too.
We *heart* Salt Lake City. After living in other large cities for many years, it's been easy to adjust to living in SLC. It's a beautiful and clean city, with amazing outdoor activities - top skiing/snowboarding in the winter and fantastic hiking in the canyons during the summer/spring, and more city life than you would expect from a city of this size. This house is literally minutes away from downtown SLC, 1 block from Memory Park/Memory Grove for biking/jogging/walking, 5 minutes to University of Utah, within 30-40 minutes of ski resorts and 30 minutes to Park City, and 15 minutes from the airport.
Wendy was incredibly accommodating when I told her we would have 4 little girls under 4 for our extended family Christmas! We were greeted with a tray of movie snacks, salsas and chips and drinks! A Christmas tree covered with baby friendlies and drawers and cupboards of games, toys, dolls, (boy friendly too!), a play kitchen, baby gear for everything imaginable including stair gates and high chairs, sippy cups and utensils. Not to mention the adults fared VERY well. Main floor had a master to die for, basement had a kid friendly family room and another bedroom with two loft beds our 4-year old granddaughter LOVED. Fabulous for a young family of 4. Upstairs was another queen room with a loft area with space for pack-n-play. And two lovely twin rooms with a large bathroom for all. there were luxury showers in two of three bathrooms, Sonos system for sound three TVs in various locations and Nest heating for all zones to keep us warm when we found 12-15 inches of snow had fallen Christmas morning. A neighbor plowed the sidewalks and the street plows were out early to clear the streets (Utah is fabulous in snow) and we were able to go sledding/skiing at many places within 30-90 min, tour the City Creek mall (about 10 blocks away) and the Salt lake Temple lights with ease. A full Smiths grocery store for groceries is all of 5 blocks away, but restaurants of every kind are close. With babies, we sent out groups while we stayed and enjoyed being grandparents. I cooked a full Christmas dinner in her wonderfully stocked kitchen with ease. The table was a bit small for our brood, but we put the older two up at the counter and were able to fit a nephew who came to visit too. (No dining room). There is no real view from the house, but a short walk up the street provides a breathtaking view over the Capitol dome and the whole city, not to mention the mountains in the distance. Access to the city was incredible! But you need a car, steep hill North of SLC in the beautiful avenues of old custom homes. We were able to fit one car in the garage and two on the driveway. A fourth was parked at a large covered parking just on the next block. We all had a wonderful comfortable Christmas week!
This past X'mas holiday time, we decided to go to Utah for a ski get-away as well as the experience of a white X'mas. While comparing the prices of Park City and Salt Lake City choices, I came across this house and we can comfortably fit 10 people. (3 families)
The house is like a model home! The decoration, furniture, kitchen appliances are all professional quality level. It is close to the center of city activities and great restaurant choices. just a few steps away, you can see the entire city view and the capital building.
We had a great time meeting our main objectives to get a white X'mas and great snow / ski experience. This house makes our experience a perfect 10! When we were not on the slope, we enjoyed just hanging around the house to watch a movie, or cook up a meal in the gourmet kitchen. We are very lucky to find this house and would love to come back again. I would absolutely recommend it to all my friends!
The house was immaculate as the photos depicted. It came equipped with all the necessities and more. Briant was quick and very helpful in responding to any questions or requests. Breath-taking view of the capitol behind the house should be taking advantage of, along with the short hike to the capitol itself. Being close to downtown was a definite plus. Will definitely stay here again if SLC is a destination in the future.
Just returned from Spring Break Ski Trip with my 3 sons, we thoroughly enjoyed staying in this home!
Great property, nice, quiet location in SLC near downtown and UT capital. Wonderful home, updated throughout, very comfortable. Very nice kitchen with everything necessary for cooking in, or entertaining/hosting a meal. Lots of space, comfortable beds, laundry washer/dryer.
Our family stayed in this lovely home, nicely appointed, well equipped, very clean, and quite comfortable. Located in The Avenues, we enjoyed the scenic views when walking in the area. The location is convenient to everything in Salt Lake City. I would recommend this home without reservation. .
This is the second time we have stayed at this property, and we enjoyed it even more than the first time. It is well taken care of, the owner is terrific to deal with and the location is hard to beat. Our family is very comfortable staying here-it really is starting to feel like home! If you are looking for a nice place to stay while in Salt Lake, this is the place!
