About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Here is a place where you can play hard, or just hang out and relax. This beautiful cabin will make you feel right at home. With top-notch beautiful furnishings throughout and with 1,250 sf of space, it is a great place from which to enjoy the resort. You are right on the slopes by the Buttercup Chair, with great views of the mountain on one side, and views of the forest, with Lake Cascade and the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness in the distance, on the other. It is a wonderful place to read, relax, or enjoy some movies, with a DVD library that will keep the adults and kids happy. There is even a private outdoor hot tub with views of the slopes for additional relaxation! The fully equipped kitchen allows you to fix any of your favorite meals.

The master bedroom has a king bed with a memory foam mattress that may be one of the most comfortable mattresses you will ever sleep on. From the master bedroom there is access to the covered deck as well as a soaker tub in the bathroom. Upstairs there is a bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom and a single on top, plus a pullout single trundle bed underneath. The upstairs bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a shower.

Tamarack is one of Idaho's treasures, with great alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, biking, hiking, boating, and nature viewing. Beautifully designed, the resort has an ambience that immediately brings a sense of relaxation and being a part of nature.

The resort has won multiple awards and accolades including Ski magazine's Best of the Blues, Rookie of the Year for the West Bliss run, an article in the New York Post entitled, 'Five Slopes You Have Never Skied (But Probably Should)', an article in USA Today entitled 'Ten Great Places to Pursue Your Halfpipe Dreams', as well as a ranking of #3 in the nation for its cross-country skiing by USA Today. More Summer fun is available on Tamarack's IMBA-designed trails. There are 30 miles of trails across open meadows and down forested slopes, as well as a technical skills park. More adventure is available on the nearby Payette River with world-famous Class IV runs for the experts, and more family-friendly rapids ranging from Class I floats to Class III rapids.

The keyless entry system allows direct access to our place without having to check in or pick up a key. You should be aware that there is a long stairway from the parking area up to the cottage. It is not appropriate for guests with significant mobility issues.

Update! As of May 31, 2015 golf course and Morels restaurant are closed. We will keep you posted if there are any changes.

The pool, exercise room and outdoor spa at the Osprey Lodge are available. The zip line, half day rafting adventures and mountain bike rentals are also available at the sports dome. Also, there is a marina with all kinds of water toy and boat rentals at Lake Cascade.

Off Season Spring and Fall

Tamarack fun!

  • 5 of 5

This property is in the village, and was as promised. It’s very cozy and you can ski-in/ski-out. There is a one car garage that came in handy, since we received a good deal of snow. Communication with the owner was easy and pleasant. Definitely will do again.

Lovely home with terrific views

  • 5 of 5

We were traveling to Idaho for a weekend with our daughter at a local semester school. We were not sure what to think with an in-between season time of year, so we booked this house as an alternative to a hotel in McCall. And so glad we did! The pictures do not due the place justice. It is actually even better in person. I was surprised at the quality level of construction in the home. The sliding glass doors are heavy duty and work so well. Leading out to a very nice hot tub that was great after a long day of adventures. One night it was especially clear for star gazing. The home is also well equipped with a large refrigerator, dishwasher, and important for us, a tea pot. It was also nice to have access to the home's garage as one of the first nights we had a late snow of 3-4 inches overnight so it was nice for the car to be clear when leaving. There was still a great deal of snow on the ground, so all the trails were inaccessible to ride or hike and the slopes had closed the week prior. So we went north to some lower altitude to get in some trail runs. Talking to an employee at HomeTown Sports in McCall, we can't wait to come back in the summer or early fall. I understand the mountain biking is world class as is the road riding. When that time comes, I will for sure be back to Margit to rent again. She was excellent and the rental process went off without a hitch. I highly recommend this home.

great location

  • 4 of 5

Second time coming to Tamarack resort, so much potential for the area, too bad it has never really caught on.

Enjoyed our cabin, as advertised. Made for a relaxing weekend, despite all the rain keeping us from getting out and exploring.

Few suggestions to make it more comfortable: Turn up the hot water heater if possible. Had to have the shower turned all the way maximum hot to have a shower that was on the edge of comfortable.

While over all the place was clean, I would suggest getting up and dusting the ceiling fans. Thick layer of dust visible from below, making one slightly worry about how well it really is cleaned between guests.

Besides those two suggestions, I would go back again!

Thanks for letting us use it!

Great Cabin... always a fun place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoy renting from this owner. They are easy to work with and respond very quickly. Cabin is warm, cozy and feels like home! Beds are very comfortable and kitchen is well enough stocked to make family meals. Just a friendly reminder the Buttercup Chairlift near this cabin closes at 1pm.
