Apartment is ideal for tourists who wish to take day trips into Paris, but stay in a smaller city. Local commuter trains leaves hourly for Paris. Fontainebleau itself is charming with a lively downtown area, well-known chateau, and beautiful forest well known for it's rock climbing and hiking trails.

This was not originally intended as a vacation rental. It was bought it for our own use.
Fontainebleau is an absolutely charming town, with culture and energy, and lots of great cafes, and very walkable and livable. It is surrounded by a wonderful forest and is a short hop to Paris by car/train.
Don and I give a big thumb's up to our one-month stay in this lovely
Fontainebleau apartment. This was our third time staying there, and it
fits our needs exactly. It's close to the center of town where there
are many boulangeries, restaurants, and shops. The local bus stop is
just around the corner with a 15-minute ride to the train station that
gets us (and our bicycles, which we rent from La Reine bike shop in
Fontainebleau) to Paris in about 45 minutes. The apartment is
spacious. The beds are comfortable. The washer/dryer is an added
bonus. It's on a quiet street so we can get rest at night from busy
days riding bikes in the close-by Fontainebleau forest and nearby towns,
visiting the chateau only a few blocks away, going to the marché three
times a week for fresh food. Parking in "la cave" is challenging for
anything but a small car, but there is parking on the street, also.
Julia, the owner, was responsive and helpful before and during our
stay. And our contact in Fontainebleau, Sylvie, graciously welcomed us
and was helpful with keys, et cetera. We are already planning our next
visit and hope to stay in our home-away-from-home in France.
The property was in a great location.. easy to find and walking distance to the Chateau and downtown. Beds were comfortable but the living room furniture was a bit tired when we went in June 2016. Hopefully that will be updated soon. Could of been a bit cleaner but I, admittedly, am picky. The owner was very responsive to helping me with the washer/dryer witch was way different from US washer and dryer systems. I would recommend this property to friends b/c of the proximity to the Fontainbleau forest for hiking, biking and great bouldering and the Chateau with it's beautiful grounds. The train station (Gare) was in Avon about 10-15 minutes from the property to quickly get in to Paris ( and the man at the station was very nice and helpful). We rented a car and it was wonderful to travel around the area but the parking garage spot was much more suited, size wise, to bikes.
Spacious apt, plenty of natural light, good size kitchen with table and stools looking out onto lovely courtyard. Great location. Within walking distance to forest, grocery stores, town, bus stop.
We are returning for third visit this fall.
We had an extraordinary stay in Julia's flat. We stayed for a month over Christmas and the New Year to climb in the forest. This was the perfect rental for us, because it allowed easy access to Paris for days when we decided to rest and great options for dining. The accommodations were great and the location was nearby to the bus, a quick walk to the chateau and/or boulangerie. It was certainly spacious enough for four people (even having four in the kitchen was fine). The walls are kind of thin, so be considerate of the neighbors- not a problem if you're not loudly stomping late at night. Julia was super helpful whenever we had questions, and very sweet to help us out with a couple of issues specific to our needs. The dedicated parking spot was a bit small for the SUV we'd rented, but there was never an issue with parking on the street. I couldn't have asked for a better host. We will most certainly be back and definitely make Julia our first call. If you like comfort, Do yourself a favor -> book this place.
Wonderful location, walking distance to forests, town, local food markets and franprix (all purpose grocery and drug store).
Spacious apt, plenty of storage, roomy kitchen with full size refrigerator and 4 burner stove. Windows surround the entire apt, bed is a dream. Firm but comfortable.

We really enjoyed our one month vacation at this apartment, Plenty of things to do. Had rented a car and roamed around the area, and a three day trip to Burgundy was great. Would surely return. Were a little disapointed wiht the size of the parking space in the basement garage. Whenever we could find a space in the street we prefered to park there. We suggest a little more amenities: upon our arrival we had to rush to town to purchase a few things like toilet paper and other basic necessities. Otherwise, all went very well. Whenever we needed something, Julia was always ready to help us. Thanks Julia
