About Janice and Russell Johnson

Owners are Russell & Janice Johnson: We are not originally from Aiken but we got here as quick as we could! We are sure you will agree with us that LIFE IS GOOD IN AIKEN!"

Since we are retired, we are often "on the road". When we are in town we live in the separate, ground floor unit of the Arbor House. We love the convenience of walking to our favorite shops and restaurants and the Aiken playhouse! It's a wonderful place to call home! We truly love it here and believe that you will too!

My stay was great! "The Nest" is in the perfect location in downtown Aiken. A short walk to coffee shops, stores, shops and restaurants. "The Nest" is very clean and has everything you could need during your stay.

I stayed 3 weeks and enjoyed Aiken and "The Nest"

As perfect as it gets!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely home in a lovely town. Everything in the rental was how I would expect things to be in my home. The rental also included a blow dryer and soap which many VRBO rentals do not include. The bed was very comfortable and the neighborhood quiet. I loved the locking magnetized gate which made me feel extra secure at night. Downtown is only a short walk so we enjoyed exploring downtown in the evenings. On Thursday night there was a LIVE band in the Alley so we enjoyed live music with our dinner. Honestly, I met some of the nicest people I have ever met while in Aiken, and that would include Russell and Janice. While they were not present when we were there, they made us feel extremely comfortable renting from them. They were very attentive and made sure that we had all of our needs met. It was a pleasure to stay in this rental and it is in the perfect location. I hope to return someday and will keep my fingers crossed that this property will be available.

A beautiful and relaxing property in the charming city of Aiken.

  • 5 of 5

This wonderful property is in the heart of downtown Aiken where you can walk to stores, restaurants and many other places of interest. It is tastefully decorated and is very comfortable; in fact it seems to draw you in and makes you feel welcome almost immediately! It has every convenience you could want or need while away from home, and it has a great porch where you can have coffee, lunch, or just sit and enjoy the weather and the view. Aiken is a charming city and it is rich with history. The city's Historical Tour will take you on its historic journey which begins before the Civil War and continues through present day and includes building of the areas railroad, becoming the winter home for many well-known rich northerners, and training of Kentucky Derby winners at the local horse farms. Charleston is within driving distance if you want to see more historical sites. We enjoyed the mild weather and talking with local residents who were some of the friendliest people we've met. Aiken is a city we would love to visit again just to enjoy the local flavor and learn more about its history. We are so glad we took this trip. Everything about our visit was truly a great experience.
