The living area opens onto the very private, clear roofed, all weather patio. There is a gas grill, lounge and dining area. Two full bathrooms with tub/showers, one off the bedroom and 1 off the living area. Fully equipped large kitchen opens to living area with Hi-def flat screen SAT TV. There is wireless internet and a land phone with free long distance.
Riding a bike is the best way to get around Mission Beach, we have as many as you need. Something new this year that looks hard but is easy, a Standup paddle board, and of course a kayak to paddle around the bay.
You bring your clothes and toothbrush; we provide everything else.

I live in Mission Beach and take a very personal interest in my properties and and my renters
Patty Charman purchased this apartment in 2000
I love it here in Mission Beach and want to be near my rentals
It is all in the listing info.
We stayed there for 12 nights and enjoyed it very much. Patty is great and very responsive. She provides everything you could need for a comfortable stay and the proximity to the beach and bay is unbeatable! We used it as a "home base" for sight seeing and it worked great for that purpose.
We just stayed there for the past week it was awesome. We arrived early and Patty let us check in. The apartment was very clean and it had everything to make us feel like we were home. It was awesome that we only had to walk literally 2 minutes to the beach or the bay. Patty had everything available to us, bikes, boogie boards, surf boards, chairs, etc. The unit that we stayed in had a back patio and bbq grill so it was nice that we had several choices to make dinner which saved us alot of money. Ralphs grocery store was a 5 minute drive down by pacific beach. We had a 5 to 10 minute walk to Belmont park. Great places to eat with the kids and great places for the adults. I would stay here again way better than a hotel.
We stayed in the apartment in March 2014. We had our son and preschool-age grandson with us. The accommodations are comfortable and clean, not fancy but nice. I was a little worried because of the previous review, however Patty was great and had everything we needed (and more). The screen door did stick a little, but it was in good condition. We were one block from the ocean and one block from the bay. Perfect location for walking, biking, etc. We did have a car but I think you could take public transportation or a taxi to many San Diego locations. There are many restaurants and a little grocery store close by. The rates are better than most given what you get and the great location. Our stay was great and I would recommend it.
We stayed here last year for two weeks and it was a good visit in San Diego. We liked it so much that decided to go back this year, but stayed in the different unit upstairs which would be, as I thought, a better choice since the unit has sunny patio.
The stay this year was different and much worse. We arrived at 3.40 pm past the check in time, and the unit still wasn't ready - there was a cleaning lady still working there. It would be fine only if I wouldn't have to vacuum clean after her - she didn't finish her job. Why to pay hefty cleaning fee if you have to clean after the cleaners? Also, the unit overall was dirty - I have to constantly wash mine and my son's feet because they simply were turning black!
The patio screen door was in horrific condition - as a matter of fact, it was falling on our backs! We told about this problem to the owners, it was "fixed" to fall again in couple of hours. Without the screen the unit quickly filled with flies.
Also, the windows of the bedroom go to the busy street and there is no rest or peace there during day or night since the windows are not sound proof at all. It took us quiet a long time to adjust to this noise and I have to say it wasn't like that last year in the downstairs unit where bedroom faced the patio and it was more quiet.
After few days, during bath time for my son, we heard knocking on the door. The landlord was there and said that we are flooding the lower floor because the drain in the bath tub doesn't work. ???????
After few days we tried to make laundry and saw that the garage is flooded and it was caused by the washer. After few minutes I saw Patty and told her about the problem in the garage. She immediately attacked me with the question - "Did you ran the full bath again?" - that made me feel uncomfortable. I told her about the screen door problem and she told me it will be "fixed" again. I said that the door is in unacceptable condition and must be changed. I didn't get feeling that the idea to change it made her happy. I told her about overall condition of the place that it is dirty and our feet were getting dirty after walking on the floor. She said - "well, you bring the dirt there since you come from the dirty place."
It was ridiculous and unacceptable. She had two workers by her who came to fix the door and they had to applogize for her reaction. The worker appologized twice, as a matter of fact. No apologies from Patty whatsoever. When the worker saw the condition of the unit,
We just loved this place. It has absolutely everything you need. Everything for the beach is there and you are literally steps from the Bay or the Ocean. We were amazed. Patty and her husband are great, they live close, and if you need anything or have questions they are always so nice. Love the laundry being so close too, its right down stairs. She provides the detergent and fabric softener too. They even provide the Keurig coffee as well. Simply amazing. Will definitely want to stay here again and have told all our friends that visit San Diego to check it out while planning their next vacation. We have 2 kids, 11 year old and 15 year old girls and had plenty of room. It doesn't get any easier than this. So much better than a hotel. Thanks again for a memorable stay.
Just stayed here with my family of five. We loved how close it was to everything including Sea World. The fact that it is about 40 yards to both the beach and the bay makes it even better.
The place was perfect for us. It was clean and had a great kitchen for our breakfast and dinners. We loved the back patio to eat on and play cards on at night.
I would certainly recommend this for a family of five or less that is looking to be close to the action in Mission Beach.
