|Minimum Stay||4 - 7 nights|
This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom beachfront condo is a ground floor, corner unit that offers quick and easy access to some of the most beautiful beaches in America. There are only 2 floors in this building and 16 units in total so the building and it's location are ideal for a quiet, relaxing vacation.
With beaches just 50' away the sights, sounds and smells of the ocean are right on the back doorstep. Facing west, the property gets all day sun and spectacular sunsets throughout the year.
The master bedroom has a high profile king bed, multiple sets of 100% cotton sheets and a connecting master bathroom. Glass sliding windows into a lanai provide wonderful outside views. The 2nd bedroom has twin beds, a wall mounted flatscreen TV and an adjacent bathroom. The kitchen has been recently updated and is fully equipped with all cooking and eating utensils. Just off the kitchen is a sitting area, with sliding glass doors facing the tennis courts, which provides a great place to enjoy a morning coffee. The living room is spacious with a wall mounted 42 inch Sony flatscreen TV, a DVD player and full HD programming. Secure, high speed Wireless Internet service is provided throughout the unit.
The screened-in, open-air lanai faces the Gulf and is a really nice place to relax and have drinks at the end of a day. A westerly exposure not only provides great sunsets but there is quite commonly a gentle on-shore breeze that is really refreshing. Vegetation and wildlife just outside the lanai are uniquely southern. Turtles can be frequently seen traipsing around the property, dolphin sightings are common and occasionally manatees can be seen in the ocean, which are incredibly large, but gentle, sea cows.
The unit comes with a washer/dryer, central AC with an accessible thermostat and humidity control, several variable speed ceiling fans for enhanced air circulation, a dining table for 6, a communal gas BBQ and an outside deck facing the ocean which is a really nice place for lunch when the weather is not too hot.
The property is part of the Boca Grande Club which is a gated, 62 acre private residential community on the Gulf side of Gasparilla island. Amenities offered include the casual 'Upper Deck' restaurant, a more formal 'Clubhouse' restaurant at beach level, 3 pools with complimentary towel service, a 'Tiki Bar', poolside lunch and drink service, beach chaises and umbrellas around the pools and along the beaches, an expanded and very popular fitness facility, 8 clay tennis courts with 2 tennis pros 'in-season' offering organized drills and matches, a small retail tennis shop and a spacious Library/Quiet Room that has books, a TV, comfortable couches and a piano for those times when guests prefer a little 'out of the way' quiet time.
Programs offered at the Club include Yoga, Aquatics, Zumba, Bridge and Circuit Training. Bicycles and golf carts can both be rented which are excellent ways to explore the island.
Boca Grande (formally known as Gasparilla Island) is located off the southwest coast of Florida, north of Naples and south of Sarasota. It is part of the 'barrier chain' of islands that includes Sanibel and Captiva. Connected to mainland by a short, tolled ($6) causeway, what makes Boca Grande unique are it's miles of beaches and it's tranquil, relaxed, Old Florida feel: no highrises, no malls, no traffic lights, and no neon signs. Despite it's small size, the town on the island is charming with excellent shopping and several very good restaurants.
This is a higher end island with property values ranging from $400,000 up to $15 Million. The unit, the Club, and the island offer privacy, relaxation and rejuvenation....a fantastic vacation get away.

We live in a large North American city where dealing with traffic, stress and frustration is a part of daily life. Boca Grande is at the opposite end of the stress spectrum....the antidote to big city living. The ocean, the beaches, the people and even the vegetation promote relaxation and a refreshingly slow pace.
Prior to buying on Boca we'd looked and stayed at a number of Florida locations. We concluded that the east coast of Florida was much busier than we wanted, that Naples and Sarasota, despite their beauty, were too much like the city, and that Longboat Key and Sanibel and Captiva islands, while closer to what we were looking for, just seemed that much bigger and busier than what Boca Grande had to offer.
Boca is a very 'upscale' island, and though we really like it's 'Old Florida' feel (which we find very appealing) we really appreciate that the island has all of the conveniences of modern living including some great restaurants.
We're pretty active people and while Boca gives us the opportunity to run, go to the gym, play tennis, golf, fish or go boating, it also gives us the opportunity to spend hours at the beach walking, reading or simply lying in the sun.....which are all pretty nice alternatives.
The first thing we do when we arrive in Boca and the last thing we do before we leave is to walk the beaches. Regarded as some the best beaches in America, they are truly spectacular.
The walk to the beach from our place takes about a minute. If we turn right when we get there, we can walk for about an hour until the beach 'runs out' at a private residence's boat dock. And if we turn left, it takes a couple of hours to effectively walk all the way to town. We've only ever done that once and the bottoms of our feet hurt for days.
Dolphins are a reasonably frequent occurrence on our beach walks and manatees, which are large, spectacular sea animals, can be seen just off the shoreline on very special occasions.
Boca is also known as the 'tarpon capital of the world'. Tarpon are reputedly one of the best sporting fish there are. Weighing in at 100-200 lbs they put up 'fights' that when caught are pretty thrilling. We're not 'fisher people' but we've arranged to do this several times over the years with some of the island captains and the experience has always been pretty exciting. It's all 'catch and release' so these magnificent creatures are thrown back just after being caught.
We just returned from a 2 week stay at this beautiful condo. This was actually our 5th stay in this unit within the past 2 years.
We've visited Boca Grande at different times of the year, but typically go before or after peak season, and this October ranks as one of our favorite times of the year. The weather was perfection. Sunny skies, warm temperatures and very little humidity. This time of year gives you all the beauty, sights, and sounds of Boca, but without the crowdedness that peak season can bring.
This condo is very well maintained and nestled on the corner of one the units, which offers both privacy and spectacular views of the Gulf and beach, which is only 50' away. The minute you step onto the screened-in lanai you'll fall in love with this condo and Boca Grande.
The kitchen is fully stocked with quality pots and pans, dishes, utensils, and tools, so preparing meals is a breeze. If you do choose to dine out, the club has delicious menus for both lunch and dinner and even take-out if you want to enjoy your meal on the lanai.
We have a toddler and love the fact that the condo and the entire club are definitely child-friendly. The staff is courteous and always seem to go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience.
The beach is incredible and perfect for shelling, swimming, walking, or just basking in the sun on one of the free beach chairs under an umbrella.
The owner of this condo is seriously amazing. He is quick to respond to any questions and has a great guide to Boca with all of his recommendations for the island. You'll find it on the coffee table and it's definitely worth the read. The only thing missing from his guide to Boca is recommending the delicious ice cream that is served at the Pink Pony - get the toasted coconut, you'll want to thank me later! :)
We can't recommend this condo, the club and Boca enough. This condo has truly become our home away from home and we plan on vacationing here for many years to come.
It's a good day when the only thing you have to worry about is finding the perfect seashell. We enjoyed every minute of our 3 night stay at this perfectly situated corner condo. I was reluctant to believe the view shown in the pictures and honestly thought there may have been some photo shopping done to enhance the view, but I was proven wrong as soon as we stepped in the front door. The view is actually more beautiful than what is shown in the photos. The mornings spent drinking coffee on the breezy lanai was the perfect start to each day and my 2 boys (ages 13 and 9) had a blast playing in the waves, combing the beach for seashells and shark teeth and diving for sand dollars on the sandbar. The club pool is clean and steps away when you need a break from the sea. We loved the easy accessibility of the condo from the beach when we wanted to come in for lunch and would spend our evenings on the lanai watching the most beautiful sunsets. It's turtle nesting season so lights around the units were minimal, which allowed for great stargazing at night. The beds were very comfortable and we were lulled to sleep each night listening to the waves as you can hear them from the master bedroom. The condo is clean, well appointed and all the needed amenities are provided in order to provide a most comfortable stay. Beach towels are provided for the guests in the condo and the club attendants helped set up beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach on 2 of our days. The third day, we moved the chairs/umbrellas on our own. It was very quiet, maybe 8 families total spread out along the mile long stretch of beach we were on. My husband used the fitness facility and felt it was sufficient for his particular work out. Mack was most helpful in the abundance of information he provided about the condo, the club and the island both before our arrival and provided in the condo. We purchased our groceries at the Publix about a mile off island before we arrived and were greeted with a nice bottle of wine, a bag of Starbucks coffee and smoked almonds to enjoy during our stay. Mack even checked on us during our stay to be sure the accommodations were comfortable and make himself available if we had any questions. We did dine at Temptations one evening and had a great homemade ice cream cone at the Loose Caboose one afternoon. There is a $6 per car toll to access the island. The town is quaint and quiet during this time of year, just like we prefer, and we look forward to a return!
My husband and I spent a wonderful week at this beautiful condo. We have been visiting various places in Florida in search of a beach community to eventually retire to. We can look no more. We fell in love with this island.
The condo is exactly as described: clean, well stocked, tastefully decorated and steps from the beach. The beach is seven miles long and is fantastic for walking, shelling and swimming. The town itself is quaint with no high rises or chain restaurants.
The owner was extremely helpful and readily available. The booklet of restaurant recommendations provided was great and you can't go wrong choosing from the list.
Since the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, silverware, and pots and pans, we bought groceries off island to prepare some of our meals and allow for more beach time. Unlike other places, there were plenty of FREE beach chairs and umbrellas and you can use them from dawn until dusk. Late afternoons on the beach were the best for us.
We would definitely recommend this place - you won't be disappointed !
This condo is exactly the way described: Bright, roomy, clean, easy stroll to the beach and the Club, ocean sunsets from the screen porch/living room/master bedroom. Ten minutes to the quaint Village for shops, restaurants, groceries. The Owner is compulsive and makes sure you arrive safely and you are pleased with your stay (you will be informed of what to expect and how to work the modern amenities). -- and the Club complements the rest!
My wife, daughter, and I have vacationed in Boca Grande many times and have stayed in three or four different locations. We just spent another great week in Mack’s condo at the Boca Grande Club. The location is fabulous and the Club is all that could be wanted for a weeklong stay. The unit provides super views, especially the sunsets (e.g. we had four or five awesome sunsets in the nine days we stayed there). We had perfect weather during the entire stay (low 80s and sunny), and the beach was busy and beautiful. As mentioned in other reviews, the condo is beautifully appointed and all necessities and several “niceties” are provided. The owner is a great host and is very informative and helpful. He has provided a detailed “guide book” in the unit, with many helpful suggestions for dining, activities, etc.
The description and the reviews for this unit are all accurate, informative, and not overstated. Overall, we highly recommend this condo and hope to return soon.
This was our second year in a row coming back here and we could not believe we would enjoy it even more. The owner Mack is a very accommodating and wonderful host, thank you Mack! The condo is comfortable and nicely decorated. The beach is beautiful and just steps away. There is shopping and plenty of restaurants on the island and everybody was friendly. You can not beat the sunsets and Manny at the Tiki bar is a hoot. We HIGHLY recommend this unit.
