Enjoy the completely updated and comfortable beach house. There are hardwood floors throughout, walk-in shower in the master and tub shower in the guest bathroom. Convenient laundry room with full size washer and dryer. The house is beautifully decorated and comfy through-out.
Boaters can put their boats in only a quarter mile away at the convenient boat ramp.
Great for family get togethers with plenty of space to entertain. There is a second floor porch with great views of the Gulf and Dog Island. The ground floor covered open patio has a grill, swing and dinning set and also has great views of the Gulf. There is also an outdoor shower and fishing cleaning table on ground floor patio.
Enjoy shelling, fishing, golfing, swimming, shopping and boating at the Life's a Beach, beach house.
Picture yourself relaxing on the beautiful gulf coast. Life is Great at Life's A Beach!!
My husband and I, along with our 2 pups, stayed at Life's a Beach for a week. If you are looking for some privacy and R&R on the water, this is the place! The home is bright and breezy with awesome views from sunrise to sunset! It comes equipped with most everything you'll need. There is a local IGA for groceries and a few restaurants - the Fisherman's Wife or Fathom's for steamed shrimp right off the boats. Or you can buy it fresh at Millender & Son's Seafood Market and cook it yourself. Although we did visit St. George's Island about 30 minutes away, we preferred to spend most of our time at home on our own private beach! There's only one thing wrong with “Life's a Beach”. You never want to leave! Thanks so much for your hospitality Lois! We sure hope to come back soon!
We were looking for a place with nicer weather than NC in February that we could bring the dogs and drive to in one day and decided to try here. It's a great house with a wonderful location. For us the very low population density of this region is a great plus. The view from the front of the house and the deck is hard to beat. We went out on the deck every evening to watch the sun set and were treated to the additional treat of watching the moon rise over the water to the southeast. The next to the last night was a full moon, gorgeous. There is very little light pollution at night so the view of the stars is wonderful. The house is comfortable, clean and has mostly everything you'll need. Lois is very easy to work with and quite responsive. The area has lots of nature trials and is extremely dog friendly. The dogs and I had a nice walk on the beach in front of the house every day. Carrabelle is only a few minutes away and though not fancy the IGA and Dollar General have a decent selection of necessities. Millender's Seafood is a nice resource for fresh fish, crab and an outstanding smoked mullet dip. The Fisherman's wife restaurant got our business several times, again not fancy but good food. St George Island and Apalachicola are a little less than a half hour away with more nice restaurants and shops. The Owl Cafe and Oyster City Brewing Co. are worth visits. We stayed two weeks and could easily have been happy staying longer.
My husband, daughter, dog and I stayed at "Life's A Beach" for five days. We didn't really know what to expect when we got there. The house was literally right on the beach! The view was perfect from the deck. I would just sit there and read or hold my daughter. There was a fire pit down by the beach which I loved. P.S. Bring your own firewood or get some at the store before you get to the house. There was a charcoal grill to use as well, which my husband and I made some steaks on! Our dog loved the beach! It is very private, so we didn't have to leash him. Perfect for dogs who love the water!
Overall, we had a great time at this house. If you're looking for a "getaway", this is the place. It is at least 35-45 minutes away from the busy town. If you need supplies, get them before you get to the house. There IS hiking to do around the area. This is a great rental to just relax at!
The one dislike I have about this property is that you have to clean up before you leave. I did not carefully read the contract, which states you must leave the property as you found it. If you don't want to pick up the house before you leave, do not rent it. This was my only dislike.
So, if you're looking for a very quiet getaway, this is the place for you!
Thank you Lois for letting us use your house! We had a great time!
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beach home "Life's a Beach". We were pleased with our accommodations. Your home was very comfortable and beautiful. I have never traveled with our 4 legged family member so I was a little nervous. The home is lovely, the beach was unlike any I had ever seen. Carrabelle is so family and pet friendly. We did accidentally kayak to a small island just off the coast which was a bird santuary and did not allow human visitors. Turned out to be one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever had. Thank you again and I WILL be back. The sooner the better!
My husband, our dogs, and I had the best vacation at this home. Lois is absolutely amazing to work with. We had the most amazing time watching the dolphins, fishing, kayaking, hanging out on the back deck, and the best part was watching the pelicans dive bomb for fish (the most funniest thing to see...hahaha).
The home was well stocked with all kitchen appliance, utensils, linens, and plenty of towels. It has excellent WI-FI, and cable TV in every room. It has plenty of room for the whole family. You will not be disappointed spending your time at this home. The back deck is gated so we didn't have to worry about our pets getting out while we hung out watching all the wildlife. The City of Carrabelle is a small fishing town with not a lot of restaurants (we did go to Hog Wild BBQ and it was AWESOME!). We did most of our grocery shopping at the local grocery store (IGA) and mainly cooked all of our meals at the house. We were looking for a quiet place to relax, and we found it at Life's a Beach! We will definitely be back next year.
This was our first time to visit Carrabelle FL. Definitely a small quiet beach town.
Some comments on the house:
It was a cute house that needs some upgrading but it had what we needed. The rooms are spacious and the kitchen is fully equipped. The house is not located on a typical beach. This beach is very calm (no waves) with a dock. Good for fishing and looking for cool sea life when the tide goes down. My kids loved finding crabs, shells, clams, starfish and many more interesting marine life. The best part of the house is that the owners are really great to work with.
Comments about the area:
Carrabelle is a very small beach town with limited restaurants and grocery stores. The main beach is about 5 min drive from the house. St. George island ( which has nicer beaches and more restaurants) is about 30-40 min drive. There is also a national forest close by you can hike.
Overall, nice place if you are looking for a quiet beach town.
Beautiful home on the gulf with beach frontage. Spend time relaxing on the upper porch watching wildlife and boating. Enjoy grilling the days catch on the patio overlooking the water. A short drive to Apalachicola to enjoy a leisurely lunch or dinner at one of the many good restaurants. Lovely shops, cafes, great seafood and ice cream. Book a fishing trip or rent kayaks in Carrabelle.
