Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family!... "Mojo" house has the rustic lake charm we were looking for and provided us all with a much needed escape. Thank you also for going the extra mile in lining up the extras... We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and plan to return soon!

Nice home, we enjoyed our stay.

  • 4 of 5

It was a bit difficult to determine the layout of the bedrooms by the photos. Our kids loved the bunk beds and loft! Wonderful outdoor space and fire pit.

More towels (hand and kitchen towels) would have been appreciated. A few things needed to be updated/replaced. The downstairs bathroom shower curtain was moldy and the toaster was very difficult to work.

Steve, the owner, was easy to work with, very friendly and accommodating. We rented a pontoon boat from

him and he helped make it a great day and experience.

Overall, a very positive experience and we really enjoyed ourselves!

Beautiful property

I had a great time at "mojo", the property was nice and secluded from neighbors. Owner communicates very quickly and was great to work with. Thanks for a great weekend at Lake Panorama.

Great cabin on the lake

  • 5 of 5

No complaints at all about our stay at Mojo. Perfect size for our group of 12. Really enjoyed the private access to the lake and space for lawn games. Although we didn't use it, we also loved the bar space above the garage. The owner was easy to work with and the place was very clean.

very nice

  • 4 of 5

Great setting and beautiful home! Our families stayed at the home to celebrate our holidays together, fun space to be together in! Living space spread out on three separate floors, so a fair amount of stair climbing for older adults. No significant space for large group of people but we made it work nicely. Recreation room (with bar) is a very fun space but over the garage. Not able to be used unfortunately in the winter, which we had not identify on the web site, so disappointed we could not use the fabulous space. Owner very friendly, drive plowed well (it had snowed prior to our stay), and there are plenty of garbage bins. Thank you for opening your home to us, look forward to returning again perhaps during another season! A Noble

Book Club Mystery Trip

  • 5 of 5

9 women, 15 years of book.club. Everyone wanted to celebrate but we're all on a budget. Driving frome Minneapolis was 4.5 hours. Only 2 of us knew where we were going! All were surprised to discover a beautiful house nestled into the treetops on a lake somewhere in Iowa! We had a great experience. Steve, the owner, was very responsive through research and selection of the property. We rented a pontoon boat (highly recommended) and he was on time to show us how to operate and the lake itself.

The property was clean and neat. Beds were very comfortable - all of us commented on that. The deck is huge and had 2 tables - one in the sun and one in the shade. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. The kitchen table is small - only seats 5 so plan to eat outside if your group is bigger.

Steve asked us how everything was - we noted that the railing were loose on the deck - he appreciated our letting him know and I would expect that he has had it repaired already.

Cell service is sketchy at this property. It is great on the water and in town. We took it as an opertunity to unplug. Also, there are lots of steps down to the lake. Remember to bring everything with you - or you will get lots of exercise!

We would recommend this property to others!

Beautiful and peaceful with lots to do for all

  • 5 of 5

I rented Mojo for an extended weekend for a multi-generational family gathering. We had folks in their 70's, 40's and teens. First, tips: Double check your GPS against a map before heading out (sediment basin threw my GPS off) and be advised there is a fair amount of gravel road on the way that was tricky after a rain. (Most of us had sport utility vehicles but my parents' Buick also did okay.) Also, Verizon users had full cell service while AT&T users had no service. (The wifi in the house worked very well.) Also, there is no fenced outdoor space, so it is out on leash to do business for dogs who will want to follow all those good woodsy smells and chase critters like deer and turkey. Finally, be aware that access to the lake from the house is via approximately 90 steps (interrupted by entertainment spaces and landings up top but the last set is a straight somewhat steep set), which was a challenge for the older members of the family and my geriatric dog. Now, raves: What a beautiful, peaceful place! The decor was charming and everything was very clean. All ages had plenty to do even when the weather did not cooperate. The kids played ping pong and pool, explored the grounds and enjoyed the swim platform in the lake. The older adults took day trips to nearby winery and towns. We watched movies together at night and folks sat around the fire pit after. And, we ate every meal on the large upper deck (the covered side when it rained), which was like eating in a tree house with a beautiful view. The deck was my favorite part of the house. The bedrooms were comfortable; though, the bedroom with the full bed is actually more like the laundry room with a bed in the corner (all the rest were spacious). Having large bathrooms on every floor was very helpful, as was having several entertainment spaces indoors and out. Steve, the owner, was very friendly and responsive by e-mail before and after the trip. I will be looking for reasons and opportunities to go back to Mojo.
