Blue Ridge European art cottage--NO “ owner fees”!

Located on half an acre, a five minute walk down to lovely Lake Tomahawk in the charming mountain town of Black Mountain North Carolina, The Blue Ridge European Cottage is perfectly situated just off the beautiful NC Blue Ridge Parkway, only 10 miles east of Asheville North Carolina.

The Blue Ridge European Cottage is great not only for family fun, but the lovely, European decor and quiet surroundings are perfect for a couple's getaway. 1000 square foot deck built around two large maple trees offering a 'ceiling' of green leaves in the spring and summer, and in the winter, the deck often takes on the look of a multi-tiered wedding cake with the soft, white snow 'icing.' Be sure to browse the lovely, seasonal pictures of the interior and exterior!

Mitchell, the highest peak east of the Rocky Mountains. For an extraordinary experience, make The Blue Ridge Cottage your home away from home while exploring the wonders of Western North Carolina!

Wonderful home!
We were delighted with our four night stay! Very comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen with delicious coffee and other items supplied by our host. Lovely large TV for streaming movies, great communication with owner and her property manager. Also very convenient to historic downtown Black Mountain and an easy drive to Asheville!

Wonderful cottage
The European cottage is a beautiful place to be. Patrice is an outstanding hostess and made our stay feel luxurious. The furnishings are beautiful and there are so many pretty things to look at. We decided to visit Black Mountain when my mother came to visit on short notice. We were truly blessed to be able to stay in the cottage. Everything you could need is provided. Patrice goes out of her way to make sure your stay is great. She is also very interesting and fun to talk to. She shows you around the cottage and talks about the art work and history of the cottage. This is the nicest VRBO that I have stayed at and it made the trip for my Mom and all of us very enjoyable.

My friends and I enjoyed our long, relaxing weekend stay at the cottage. Patrice & Rick are gracious hosts who were very responsive to our questions. The beds were quite comfortable and the cottage ascetic charming. Patrice left us a lovely selection of goodies to enjoy! I hope we can return!

After having lived and worked 'all over the world,' I chose Black Mountain, NC for my permanent residence. It is reminiscent of Austria and Hawaii--green mountains from top to bottom in the summer, snow-capped in the winter. I was a well-known performer in Europe and visited Asheville in 1995 (the same year Prince Charles was guest at the Biltmore Estate). I am a collector of fine art and antiques, knowing many famous artists myself. Some of the collection is featured in the cottage and adds greatly to its artistic charm. I maintain close ties to Europe and still perform. My mother was a well-known French chef who taught me from a young age how to perform well in the kitchen. By special request I have catered for the Dalai Lama and for the State Department in Vienna, Austria. On occasion I cater for the cottage's guests.

Why they chose this property

The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains area and nearby Asheville and Biltmore Estate is almost as remarkable as portions of Austria or Hawaii. Walking around Lake Tomahawk just down the street from the cottage reminds me, personally, of the walk around Lake Lucerne in Switzerland where I lived for one year. The water from our own reservoir here in Black Mountain is fresh and clean, the produce from the region's farmer markets meets the high standards of someone used to the best of European cuisine.

What makes this property unique

Location, location, location! Ideally situated. Walk down to lovely Lake Tomahawk with its charming walking path, free summer concerts and tennis courts, brand new swimming pool. Enjoy downtown Black Mountain's famous regional restaurants (pizza!) and unique jewelry, craft and furniture and antique shops. Drive minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville. Beautiful all seasons, a true hidden gem. On a rainy day stay in the cottage and enjoy the peace and quiet. The New York Times called Black Mountain a 'Haven.'
