Why The Owner chose Eastham

Jennifer and I have vacationed on the Cape since we were kids and the fact that we bought this home on the Cape the same year our first child was born was no accident. We wanted to provide the same great Cape Cod memories to our children that we treasure. Days spent boogie boarding on the ocean side, basking in the warmer waters of the bay side at high tide, biking, fishing or paddling around Nauset marsh, and shell fishing followed by awesome seafood dinners or cool evenings at Cape Cod League baseball games are experiences we both cherish and want to share with our children.

What makes this house unique

Large house with large bedrooms and plenty of beds in a quiet cul-de-sac. Great access to beaches, ponds and Orleans center without the hassle of traveling Route 6 in summer. Tennis courts 100 yards down the street!

Guestbook comments from the owner

The property, location and owner interactions were all we asked. Everything was as described and very comfortable. The home was more spacious than we expected, with multiple sitting spaces inside and out. Everything was in good order and the furnishings were homey. The accessibility to the CCRT, tennis courts and the village gave lots of to see and do. I would recommend bringing binoculars for watching birds in the nearby estuary.

The owners are honest, pleasant and very accommodating.

Great house for a relaxing cape weekend

  • 5 of 5

Loved our time here, so close to the bike trail and down town Orleans via the trail. Right down the street biking distance away was a small beach, which seems to be residents only but you can drop off the group and bike down. quite and homey. we would love to rent again.

Spacious home...great Cape escape!

  • 5 of 5

Large house, with lots of space! We enjoyed our stay. The house is at end of a cul-de-sac, and was pleasantly quiet. Accommodations were spacious, and true to the description and images with the posting. The setting of the home had us feeling we were nestled among nature.

Anticipating return already

  • 5 of 5

With a beach ideal for young and older children, and persons attracted to the ocean, the house is ideally located 5-10 minutes from Rockport Harbor, where the sunsets are incredible and it's not unusual to have free reggae music in the evening. One of the top ten beaches in the country - Coast Guard Beach - is 20 minutes away and in addition to the stunning beach, there's the National Seashore Museum with exhibits, films, viewing areas, and, of course, a gift shop.

We went to theatre in Wellfleet and Dennis, less than half an hour away, for two excellent plays. Being less than five minutes to the bike trail, we used bikes to go to Orleans, Eastham, around the marshes and to the National Seashore. We were delighted to discover that Henry Easton, author of The Outermost House, had built his house in the area and wrote about the history of the area in his book. There are some excellent seafood restaurants, a store devoted solely to bird lovers, many art galleries and large (sorry to say, but nevertheless convenient) grocery stores.

In addition, we enjoyed the house itself, which makes good use of open space for the kitches and dining areas, with a lovely adjoining sunroom. The decks also offer areas for grilling and dining, as well as simply relaxing. Bedrooms and baths are more than adequate in space, good taste, privacy and cleanliness. Returning from the beach, or wherever, to the house was a pleasure because it did provide privacy, quiet and everything one might want or need for a memorable vacation, including sunsets.

Todd and Jennifer were very cordial and helpful, and we felt no hesitation about contacting them should we have needed to.

My family has been coming to Cape Cod for one to two weeks for three years now and we have stayed in three different locations. Our enjoyment and pleasure in this location is by far the best in our experience for our family, which includes grandparents, parents and 5 grandchildren, the youngest person one year old and the oldest 78. We all had a good time, and the house and location were big factors. I would recommend this property to a friend or relative (at least, some of relatives!) without reservation, as long as they do not encroach on my plan to make reservations next year.

We are grateful for having had beautiful weather during the two weeks of our stay. In the event of rain, though, there are many things to do indoors. And I think I neglected to say anything about kayaking, paddle surfing, etc!

Delightfully comfortable in Eastham

  • 5 of 5

My wife, daughter and her two friends stayed here for a vacation. Our experience was ideal. The description was accurate and the property was spacious and clean. The owner was helpful and relaxed. The property was well maintained. We especially liked the indoor garage where we kept our van. I have recommended this home to friends. We enjoyed watching other people digging for clams. We wish we could have brought the clam digging supplies from Todd's home to do a little digging ourselves when we went to the inlet.

Coast Guard beach was beautiful and clean. Laura painted with oil paints that we brought from home. This attracted many curious onlookers who were visiting the beach.

We stopped in a number of local restaurants and devoured lobster rolls and Portuguese specialties in Provincetown. There were boogie boards in the garage and the children body-surfed at Coast Guard beach. We watched the sun set on the water from the tip of Cape Cod looking west at Race Point.

At Todd's house, we grilled steaks on the BBQ grill. The grill worked great and it was easy to use. We shopped in Orleans at Shaw's Market and the food was not too pricey.

Didn't want to leave!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here, clean and lots of room and comfortable seating for our 2 families. The bedrooms are nice and roomy, beds are comfortable and the AC was a relief on a couple of nights that were warmer. It has everything you need from cups to beach chairs. We loved cooking on the grill outside in the evenings, watching the kids try to catch fire flies. It's in a quiet, safe neighborhood and the bike trail is a short path away, great for morning walks before heading out for the day. Also loved the outdoor shower after returning from the beach. We didn't want to leave!
