|Minimum Stay||5 - 14 nights|
Albatross Nest epitomizes Caribbean style living with truly breath taking 180-degree views from the property's open and elevated terraces. Enjoy magical sunset drinks with views of the island of Martinique in one direction and Pigeon Island National Park and Rodney Bay in the other.
Albatross Nest is our dream home - perfect views, distinctive open plan architecture, traditional Caribbean shingled buildings and beautiful tropical garden. Enjoy classic barefoot charm and listen to the sounds of nature and the sea below.
The property is secluded and provides perfect privacy - it is only ever rented to a single party/group. Its layout means that it is equally suited to 2 guests as much as it is for larger groups of up to 8 guests.
The villa was designed by architect, Robertson Ward, who designed the original Sandy Lane hotel in Barbados. Three buildings are linked by covered walkways around the large central pool. The design is perfect for a tropical, outdoor lifestyle and the central pool area spanned by an attractive bridge creates a romantic environment.
Albatross Nest is located in the North West corner of the Cap Estate which is generally regarded as the premier residential area of St. Lucia.
The property is a very short drive to Pigeon Island beach, Anse Du Cap beach and Cas en Bas beach. The 18 hole golf course at the St. Lucia Golf and Country Club, snorkeling, scuba diving, kitesurfing, horse riding on the beach, tennis club and an award winning spa, as well as many of the island's best restaurants are all within a ten minute drive.
Maid service is provided 5 days a week. The gardener is at the property 2 days a week. The property has a security system.
The property is managed by Kris Wagner who will welcome you to the property and advise on any aspects of your vacation. Kris is on call 7 days a week to ensure that you have a wonderful holiday in St. Lucia.
A pre-stocking service is available so that when you arrive at the villa you do not immediately have to go shopping - you can immediately relax, unwind and enjoy the view.
The property belongs to an English couple,Tim and Joanna (Jo) Weil who have been visiting St Lucia for the past 15 years. We fell in love with the island and after a very long search we finally found our dream home which we purchased in December 2009.
We look forward to being able to spend much more time in our beautiful home in St. Lucia when we retire but in the meantime we are making it available for holiday rentals when we are not there .
The Owner purchased this villa in 2009
We have visited St. Lucia for many years and love the island. We fell in love with the stunning view, the lovely garden and the architecture of this property. We enjoy the variety of restaurants and beaches easily accessible from the property.
The property has one of the best sea views we have seen on the island. The sunset views are amazing. The property provides a restful, private location but good restaurants and a variety of activities are available within a ten minute drive.
It’s going to be hard going back to the UK after an amazing stay at Albatross Nest. We could not have imagined a more spectacular view. It feels like a slice of paradise. The sunsets, sky, sea was all so breathtakingly beautiful. We loved the stillness and privacy of it all and were happy to spend all days here.
Everyone made us feel so welcome. I have not come across a nicer group of people in all my travels. All thanks to Mr. Mike for his gentle manner and beautifully tended garden, to Ivy for her warmth and wonderful laugh, Gildas for keeping us safe with no complaints and to Kris for her attention to detail. We would love to come back again.

When you enter Albatross Nest you find yourself in a spectacular retreat with panoramic views overlooking the vast Caribbean, the coastline of St. Lucia and the island of Martinique. Sailboats and and ships are mesmerizing to watch day and night as you gaze down at the sea and out on the horizon. The beaches below the villa in front of the Cap Maison and Le Sport resorts are a 5 minute drive away and welcome visitors for swimming, sunning and water sports. They are also good places for lunch and dinner. But you don't want to miss the sunsets at Albatross Nest while floating in the pool with an evening beverage or lounging on the terraces and open living room. We found that we often wanted to stay for dinner and got groceries in Rodney Bay, just a ten minute drive away. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a great outdoor grill. The staff is outstanding with a manager who will arrange anything you need. We had a wonderful day on a boat down to the famous Pitons. The housekeeper and gardener kept the house and grounds immaculate and were very friendly and accommodating. We rented a car, which was all arranged by the house manager, and delivered and picked up at the house. The driving can be a bit challenging but easy enough and good to have the mobility and flexibility for short trips to the market, restaurants and beaches. We'd recommend a cab for longer trips like to to the airport, Pitons or rain forest. Overall, we had a verymemorable family experience.
Albatross Nest offers a true Caribbean Experience. The open great room allows a full 180 degree view of the beautiful Caribbean along with the rugged St. Lucia coastline. Popular Pigeon Island is fully visible from the expansive veranda. The property gardens were immaculate and vibrant, attracting many colorful hummingbirds and butterflies. We loved the pair of finches that visited us regularly. The pool was a perfect size for the 4 of us and the bridge was a charming shortcut. The bedrooms were an adequate size with plenty of storage. Although they were all air conditioned, I chose to turn off my air conditioner and enjoy the relaxing sounds of the ocean at night. The pictures on the website accurately depict this property and the view.
We rented a car for 2 days to explore on our own. Driving was not easy, but we always found where we were trying to go. Our favorite spot was the Pink Plantation House in Castries for lunch. The staff at Albatross Nest was very pleasant and unobtrusive. The hammock was popular with all of us.
I visited with my two adult daughters and son in law. This was a perfect location for us and I would definitely return and recommend Albatross Nest to others.
This was our 5th stay at Albatross Nest and once again we had a fabulous time. The 4 ensuite bedrooms are ideal for friends and family staying with us. We BBQ some nights and go out on others. This year we managed to buy some live lobster which we pre-cooked then finished on the BBQ. We never get tired of the sensational views. Villa manager Kris Wagner is a star and staff Ivy and Michael are great.
Looking forward to our next visit!
From the minute we stepped into the property the fabulous view took our breath away. We had dinner a few nights before at he Cliff House (similar view), but this was even better. The layout is very livable with the bedrooms removed from the living area to allow privacy for all.
The drive up was a little daunting, but, to be honest we are not used to left hand driving. We did get reasonably comfortable after a while.
The staff (Ivy, Shane, Michael) were very nice to us and unobtrusive. The villa was well maintained by them.
Some small improvements could be made (broken trash can, chair in need of repair); but, all-in we loved staying here and would not hesitate to return.
Wow ! is what everyone says as they walk in to Villa Albatross Nest and see the sensational views for the first time. Set high on a hill in Cap Estate, the wrap-around balcony gives the villa fabulous 200 degree views over Rodney Bay to the south, Pigeon Island and the Caribbean Sea to the west and the island of Martinique to the north.
We have visited several other Caribbean islands but now look forward to returning to St Lucia next year for an 11th time and to Villa Albatross Nest for a 5th time.
This year we stayed with family and friends for 3 weeks and had another fabulous time.
Villa manager Kris Wagner is a star, nothing is too much trouble, and the villa staff, housekeeper Ivy and gardener Michael, are wonderful.
From the moment we arrived, our stay was perfect. We joined friends who had arrived 10 days before and already looked totally rested and rejuvenated. The views are better than the photos show, and a gentle breeze kept us comfortable day and night. Kris the manager looked after us and advised on anything we needed from car hire, taxis, restaurants, fishing, scuba diving, and much more. She knows the Island so well and has a trusted group of contacts. Our maid Ivy made us smile every day and nothing was too much trouble. Undoubtedly we will recommend Villa Albatross Nest to our friends and hope to return again in the future.
We recommend that you hire a 4x4 car to make the most of your stay. Beaches, restaurants, golf course, tennis courts and Pigeon Island are all within 15 minutes.
We highly recommend a trip into the rainforest and zip-lining for the more adventurous or a tram ride into the forest if the zip-lining does not appeal.
A boat trip is the perfect way to see the island and it is possible to join others on a large boat or to hire something smaller. Boats trips leave from Rodney Bay Marina which is within 15 minutes. Trips vary in length and cost but we enjoy going down the west coast to The Pitons stopping off at Marigot Bay and snorkelling from the boat at various bays along the coast.
Nearer home on those days when you want to do more than relax by the pool we recommend a trip to Pigeon island, to look around and investigate the history, relax on the beach and perhaps to eat at the restaurant there.
A range of watersports are available on nearby beaches including kitesurfing with excellent tuition.
Kris Wagner, the villa manager is able to help with sightseeing arrangements.
